Hello everyone :)
Not sure if this has been posted anywhere else, if it has then i apologize!
Anyway this is my first thread ever made on these forums and i thought that it belonged here in the coad channel. Anyway to the point of the thread! i am a reader of a magazine called PC Gamer in the United Kingdom, while browsing through the contents my eye caught an article about one of the longest wars ever fought in a MMO. Well the article is rather big and actually has quite a lot of information! mentioning BoB/MC/RA/Goons and many others. I haven't read the entire article yet so i can't report on everything that is said however i thought that i would provide you with a few pictures of the article. Unfortunately i don't have a scanner here at my house however i will see if i can scan them at a computer at college another day so you can actually read the content :)
Anyway here are a few pictures taken by my very bad digital camera :)i hope you understand that the quality of my camera will not be good enough to upload pictures where you will be able to read the article. i will try and find the better camera later on.

I am not a fan of PC Gamer but if no decent scan is available before I goto work tomorrow I shall have to buy it.

I'll see if i can obtain much higher quality and larger pictures tomorrow and if possible a scan however i have to be careful i'm not breaking any rules. No i don't work for PC Gamer i am just a reader of the magazine and thought that some people would just like to know about the article.
As i said hopefully better quality pictures tomorrow

I've just read through it. It's a pretty interesting read, although it's not quite up to date (but then again the war did move pretty quickly all of a sudden), and is missing the RA Titan loss and what happened after it. However, ultimately it's more for non-EVE players I'd imagine, showing them just what happens in our lovely little game.

There was a very similar article about 2 years ago, which was what actually prompted me to try eve out (I had already known about it for a while). I don't even remember exactly what it was about (something to do with a merc contract and some 'big ship' being destroyed by a traitor...dunno). BUT i remember having read it, thinking "This is fascinating. This sounds like so much more than a grind-all-day-for-weeks MMO. It has the feeling of a real mini-world where politics, economics and backstabbing occur".
I'm sure CCP will appreciate this article, if it has on more people the effect it had on me.
edit: Forgot to mention. That article was also in PCG, but US edition. I wonder if US edition will get this article too.

That article was in the euro versions also. And it was about the GHSC contract on Miriam and her corp. Funny that it should come up this week.

Heh, was wondering when the next issue was out. Didn't think CAOD would be the source of any useful information, but hey. And to think I emailed before the alliance tournament (I thought the tournament and the whole 'evetv' thing was something they'd mention in Extra Life or something).

As far as CCP; I'm pretty sure this is very interesting for them... "Free" PR never hurt this game. *BUMP* to get a CCP reaction.

Is there a good write up of the Great War that is relatively historically accurate? It would be interesting to read one written like you might read a history of WWI or the like.

Older Eve Gamers (cough) sponsors, split into three parts:
Pirates - We know and love them, fighting against the odds, teddybears of old, vetos of today.
Freedom Fighters/RP - Jade and co, CVA, following a different path.
High SP Players and associated Leeches (Quite a few have been shed) - BOB, tried to take over and monopolise the EVE universe and did a fairly good job, got stopped dead by a combination of 'organised numbers' and what no-one will ever realise, an organised section of german disinformation and infiltration that is still prevalent.

im sure we can create a very large pot from small donations to create some incentive for somebody to do our work for us.

Are you American or English? The English/UK version is 10x better then the rag that comes out here in the US. I've actually paid the $15 for the UK edition...
