I've specifically fitted a +48% gravimetric sensor bonus module in order to not get jammed, when I fly against the Gurista, but it happened anyway.
Have I misunderstood how the game works? Should I remove the module and use the slot for something else?
With the Warded Gravimetric Backup Cluster I module, my Navy Caracal has a gravimetric sensor strength of 25.

It's a chanced based system. ECCM only lowers your chances of getting jamed and being found via scan probes. That's it.

I've heard that NPC jammers are not like player jammers, and that ECCM does nothing to counter them.
I have no experience in the subject however so I dunno :P

One of the Devs posted a couple of months ago that NPC EWar is 100% chance based and that any counters you used had no effect.
Save your slots for your tank and just wait it out....

Even mothership (immune to all forms of EW) can be jammed by NPCs. ECCM won't help against NPCs.

ECCM doesn't work against NPCs, so you may as well remove it. -- Ralara / Ralarina |

That might have been what they posted, but my experience says otherwise. I've gone Massive Attack in a Geddon several times. Without an ECCM, I'm jammed quite often, but with an ECCM it drops to less than 10 cycles. It might just be dumb luck and crazy chance outcomes, but that is what I have experienced.

Are you saying that in your experience, jamming happens to you less often?
Or that jamming happens to you as often with an ECCM module as without, but with the module, each jamming incident lasts a shorter period of time?

Because the NPCs are not smart enough to constantly use them. In fact, them actually using the module is chance based.
Amarr is the tank OR gank race. Not the tank and gank race. |
