I agree, that is low...
As a matter of fact, i was considering an offer to join GoonFleet...this as well as other things has made me say "no".
(and yes, i am worth more than 250m. I can almost fly carriers, so they def lost out there)

And gave me alot of information bout it. So they obviously Use

There is no free lunch. When a capsuleer alliance calls you a friend, be very afraid. When they offer something cheap, it's a scam. Or then it's preparation in order for you to think they're friendly and scam you later. (Preferably with killing and podding you and your dog.)

I would never fear a goon. Cause they have none of my respect at all. Why fear a goon? When they do things like this. Actually this is telling us that they have fear. What did they do though? Offer you to join them for 250million ISK and then just laugh? Not making fun because I dislike scammers, just lost on what happened exactly.

They offered me to join Goon Fleet.. Told me about a ''Free Dreadnought Program etc''. I thought it sounded fishy but well it was one of the largest alliances so sure it could be true. Then i trusted them, accepted a ''freeform'' which was well done with all the information, i even had a personal member of goonfleet '1 year member' telling me about a carrier loan program. I think they're just trying to ruin the game, so they ''always'' will be big. But thats their own fantasy world.

I think my char was 3 months old when I learned about the goons scamming peeps, and I learned it via the forums your bad experince is posted now.
You are just one in the line of people who keep jumping with both legs into the scam hole that goons proudly makes.

Sorry that happened. Thanks for explaining it. I haven't met a Goon yet that I actually bothered speaking too so I really had no opinion one way or another towards them except knowing that many people don't like them. This will lean me pretty far to the negative.

Funniest part is that there is actually a free dread program. Oh and that you failed to do any research at all into an alliance you were trying to join?
There are 2 ways to get into Goonfleet.
1) Be applicable to join, i.e. a long standing member of the Something Awful forum community. This is what Goonfleet was made for.
2) Be sponsored into Goonfleet. Your sponsor must be a member of Goonfleet for more than 2 weeks and must not be sponsored himself. Your sponsor is responsible for you, if you mess up and get kicked out so does he. For this reason, sponsoring complete strangers happens very rarely (hi Nekumi).
Goonfleet is well known for scamming people attempting to join. A cursory search of the forum will provide you with many whine threads, much like this one.
Goonfleet does not recruit from the general populace. Also nobody cares if you can fly a capital ship or not.

As much as I disagree with some of the things that some Goons do and wouldn't do these things myself, other things they do (like this, for example) amuse me to no end. If you're going to join a corporation or alliance in this game and expect anything decent to come of it, then you should know something about them first... you scammed yourself by not knowing their recruitment policies, which are PUBLICLY AVAILABLE... |
