A. Im going too make the assumption that those players arguing against GTC are new too the MMO industry. The selling of Gold, Isk or whatever has been around for as long as their has been MMO's. Way back when Origin the makers of Ultima Online tried and failed too stop the selling of items in game. Sony the maker of Everquest tried pretty hard too stop farmers too fail pretty badly. The list goes on and on, its now common knowledge that their is no way too stop Farmer or Buyers no matter what you do. What has become the best proven tactic is too be as aggressive as you can in finding the farmers themselfs and banning them and warning the buyers too stop. The farmers always come back but sometimes the buyers learn their leason and stop.
B. Most Gold/Isk farmers are based in China were the average wage is very low and the government has a history of looking the other way at such illegal bussiness. This puts Corporations like CCP, EA, Sony, Blizzard in a difficult spot as these people are now untouchable, so they have too try and think of ways too work around this problem.
C. GTC offers a way for players too buy isk and avoid alot of the real bad issues that buying from a shady bussiness in china can arise. I myself had once logged onto my brothers computer while waiting for him too get ready for work, his computer was acting a bit slow so I rand a virus scan and left too take him too work. Turns out his computer had a virus and the Farmers had stolen one of my two WoW accounts passwords and transfered my lvl 60 guy too another server, stripped him of all his stuff (too sell his gold) and used that account too spam for gold buying. These are the people your dealing with when you buy gold/isk thru the internet and the Isk your buying thru these farmers may have been someones hard earned isk and lots of heartache..but you'll never know. Buying Isk thru GTC offers a 100% risk free way of buying isk, this has too be done so long as the Farmers are immune too the law.
