Edited by: TheEndofTheWorld on 19/04/2008 17:24:55 Claiming that there will always be RMT is... ignorant. There will always be bugs in EVE as well, so should CCP should stop fixing them, because there always will be some?
I might be wrong, but I am fairly sure that stronger drugs such as ******* or ****** are illegal in Holland as well... ********* and things like that are only legal because they are comparable to alcohol's, smoking's effect on health. The Holland's system is not that drastic. Yet in EVE there is no upper cap for buying isk with GTCs...
Illegal RMT only attracts players who are not really committed to EVE in long term, legal RMT(in form of GTCs) makes it 100% fine for use in 0.0 warfare.
CCP could really make some easy gameplay changes to counter blantant farming. 4-6 hours of npcing max per 23h, making npcing in general require more attention(to counter multiple account farming) etc. They wouldn't have any effect on the normal players, yet it would make farming a lot harder. |

You can still buy Battleships, carriers, etc for REAL MONEY requiring NO EFFORT in game.
You can come up with a random rationalization, but in the end it is still the same. CCP should start selling ships directly for money, this would solve the over-population problems.

I might even wager the percentage would be close to 10%, if not even as high as 20%. Can CCP afford a 10-20% subscription drop rate for no good reason ? I certainly doubt that.
That is a very good idea!
Remove GTCs <-> ISK, add official RL money <-> ship/pos/module shops. 10-20% of the playerbase vanishes, CCP would have to spend less on server (upgrading), yet CCP gets the same Ç/$ they would have with GTCs.

And this is why CCP runs the show, and should keep running the show, kids...
Why? What is bad about the suggestion?

Originally by: Akita T Well... let's see... the economy system, the one CCP is so proud of ? Gone. There's no point in doing anything at all if you can get everything for real-life cash, spawned directly in your hangar. Free market economy ? Variable prices ? What's that ?
You can already "spawn" things with GTCs, can't you? No work required at all.
RL money bought items could have limitations such as zero insurance, no possibility to trade/sell it, only spawn in certain systems etc.
CCP already are gods of the market, it is not exactly free with all those boosts/nerfs, npc goods, tax etc. Varying RL <-> items costs should not be a problem either.
