It allows you to import the market log files you can export in game.

Once you have the data imported you can find seller to buyer trade routes. Also lets you see the movement of items giving you a good look at where to place your manufactured items for sale and get the best price. You can see where to buy from seller (at low price) and move to a different location to put back in the market for a good profit.

Allows you to compare region data in a single window or in seprate windows. The UI mimics the Market tree and the seller and buyer grids. The difference is it allows you to see how many of the item was place on the market and if they ahve sold any at that price they placed them at.

You need to import the data for the items and regions over a period of a 4 days at least to get a look at the trending this application can expose. The reason for this is the fact that when anyone changes/modifies their order it resets the issued date and duration. During import EVEMarket leaves the issued date alone for all existing imported data. This way you can see some type of trending.

My corp has been using it and we ahve done pretty well with it. Example by reviewing the data for Hammerhead I drones I saw I could buy them from one region for 21K a piece and could move them to a region and put them back on the market for 80K. I knew this because I saw in another regions data someone was selling them at 100K a piece and I could see they were moving since I could see the issued date and the QTY. Entered and the QTY. left. I sold them for that price until I was under cut. I am still selling them for 64K a piece. Still triple what I bought them at.

Now with that said I have bought stuff that sells but they are not moving as fast as I thought they would, but hey its a market what can you do. :)

Im slightly concerned about the 2 httpBindings that is defined in the config file. I really couldn't be bothered to even try and reflector it since it doesn't even run, so meh.

Supports only XP SP2 and Vista. Also only US and UK English regional settings for your OS. Also requires the MS .NET 3.5 framework.

Some lines in the buyers or sellers list dont use decimal points, and others do

which results in prices being represented up to 100 or 1000 times higher or lower then they are in the game.

Probably this has to do with regional settings (english vista with belgian regional settings)

Ironically I have other ideas but I'm going to keep my mouth shut. I've got the skill to leverage what this program does, at it's core, into various personal ideas/projects. So on that alone I love this app. The core functionality is very much one of those "need to have" things that I can mark off my list.

PS: I also just realized one other thing. If you make the "server" capability functional I think you should consider it as a two part open source project. I think most would prefer to have their own servers running instead of having one centralized server under someone else's control/purview.

Yes, we have thought about this a lot and we have kicked around a few ideas. One was to do a release of the web service and the app so corps could host their own data.

The other of course was a centralized database. Could have many problems. One being some ppl will not want to share their data. Very good point.

Or, if you choose not to go with a community released server version you might think about adding in an import/export feature so people can share data direct from each other. Just a thought as I'm having no trouble extracting data myself.

What's the point in having a huge item tree on the left filled with stuff that doesnt have data?
Instead of using a colour that shows what you have data on... why not only show the items that you have data on?
or atleast the option wether to show everything, or only data holding items?

I was looking and something I noticed... filtering would be helpful. Being able to quickly filter columns would be very helpful. (Or if it is in there I don't see it). Not exclude columns but have the ability to exclude data itself that do not meet with user defined criteria. I.e. Rows where qty >= 1000, Rows where price <= 25000, etc., etc.

Of course the idea is that the filtering would be one on top of the other. (I.e. kind of like Excel's autofilter).

This could be considered a feature addition but it is one of them things that seems like a no brainer. Add the system table (from the export) to the database and have system security rating added as a column to the view panes. (Include it in filtering too.)

Oh, and keep your app focused on what it does now. Improve the functionality of it, the look of it, etc., etc.. But resist the temptation to start bundling other metagame functions to it. In my experience this complicates matters (introducing bugs) and can cause the application to appear to be doing too much at once.

Right now it is very very good and very very slick.

And I've yet to actually use it for trading!

I ran into the same thing... I figured it was a limitation in windows o/s on how many files you can try to open at one time. I usually just do 150 or so at a time.

I must admit, i haven't really given it much time yet. So my remark on not understanding it, was based on the fact, that i haven't really seen what the app can do . My bad.
Btw, i like the fact that you can see all items, but i feel there should also be an option to filter the item not related to a marketlog, i.e. the green ones.

Oh and on the bug.. It seems that i can import around 500-600 logs at a time. Heh...while i was writing that, the app just disappeared (crashed silently) while importing .
If you like i can zip up my logs for you, and send it if you can provide an email.

Installed the framework. Now the program starts fine, but as soon as I try to import a log I get the same crash...
