Whilst looking at the seperate cases and component offers, I noticed a discrepancy between their website and the EVE site link -- specifically in regards to the graphics card in the package.
At the commodore link, it says: NVIDIA« GeForce« 9800 GTX 512MB graphics card
At the EVE-O link, it says: NVIDIA« GeForce« 8800 GT 512MB graphics card
Ok, now since I'm through nitpicking the details -- I'd like to say that the casework is awesome, and if I had the extra money lying around, and was the kind of person to spend money on case-artwork -- I would get it.

Edited by: Burrito NL on 11/04/2008 07:48:20 geez you guys are fast!
I only updated the specs within the last hour (I work for Commodore) and am in the process of emailing CCP about it....
I just figured nobody would mind the upgrade for the same price...
so the specs are:
- Intel« CoreÖ2 Quad Q9300: 2.5 GHz 6MB Cache
- ASUS« P5N-D (NVIDIA« nForce« i750) motherboard
- NVIDIA« GeForce« 9800 GTX 512MB graphics card
- 500GB 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache SATA hard drive
- 2GB CorsairÖ XMS2 Twin2x2048-6400 memory: 800MHz
- DVDRW optical drive
- 750W ICE Cube power supply
- On Board Integrated Hi Definition 7.1 Channel sound
- Microsoft« Windows VistaÖ Home Premium operating system
Or you can just get an empty case ofcourse ! :D |

They're actually not on display in amsterdam either... I can only point you to our 3D-viewer... if you click the little + on the left of the cases as shown on http://www.commodoregaming.com/eu/Game+PC/eve+online/Special+Offer.aspx you will see the 3D version and you can move it around...

Starts to look better now (locally, could get a system conforming to the old specs 500 euros cheaper, sans the gorgeous case).
Now it is line with what I'd expect. (Kind of hard business, selling computers is like selling T1.) Too bad I'm kinda out of change, it would be about time to upgrade from the GeForce 6 level.

sorry for all the changes but we're in the same process with our "normal" systems... just bad timing.... at least you're all getting a better deal out of it!

Nice looking skins but I would have severe reservations about putting high end equipment in one of these, there's absolutely no air flow that I can see. -- eve-guides.com All about POSs, Outposts, Exploration, Mining, Invention, EVE Database + much more!! |

There's actually great airflow, the door doesn't close off the front, it's "floating" there's a 16mm "gap" through which the front fan can get air, there's a rear fan and a huge 250mm side-fan.... we have no problems at all with airflow...

A note on the 3D-viewer: There's only one + per column. However, since they've ordered differently, you can view all the cases by checking the cases-only sale viewer.

Well, those huge 250mm side fans have been known to ruin any and all proper front-to-back airflow with its turbulences.
However, if you say that there are no problems with dissipating heat, then I assume you have tested the system assembled and have assured adequate cooling.

I use side fans(4X120mm) to push air on to my Mboard and the front and back fans suck it all out, seems to work well with my very hot setup

Those graphics still have to be made, CCP is extremely busy...
As for shipping... the Cases would be 262.86 US$ (without VAT) and shipping to Seattle (took the address of the spaceneedle) would be (don't blame me) 425 US$ (we do not make money on shipping, you can check with TNT) for Express or 407 US$ for Economy Express.
Obviously if you can arrange other shipping or have suggestions for that we are willing to help you save cost on this.

We do competitor analysis before we offer any system... we find we are not at all overpriced compared to our competitors... And we add extra features...

Edited by: Andre Marconius on 11/04/2008 11:16:31 That is why I can get a pretty much identical system for less. Still, I do like what commodore do with their pcs, especially the cases but for me it's the value that counts.

I didn't say you can't get it for less... that's probably at a webshop or something where you have to build yourself... and pretty identical is also very hard because the difference in cost can be huge even if you only use a different brand... we do close analysis of the specs and the brands we use and compare it against our main competitors (Alienware, Dell, Voodoo, Evesham, Beast, etc) and we do find we are competatively priced.
As said, we cannot compete with webshops that sell parts, we have a factory, add labour to build, have a full OS included, stresstest for 24 hours, we have sound proofing material, we give a 2 year warranty on the full system. Those comparisons are hard to make against a webshop.
We do appriciate that people look at those websites and look at what it would cost but please try to keep in mind that we do add these extra features and you are essentially comparing a lada to a mercedes (no offence to lada, we used to have one ;))

Are the cases limited, ie. will you be selling them untill stock runs out or will they be avalible for the forseeable future?
Its going to be around 6 weeks before i can order one.

Edited by: DragonRanger on 11/04/2008 11:30:27 One thing I would like too point out about the choice of motherboard (which I own): The onboard audio on mine (and by the look of asus's forums, most of them) is VERY bad, constant loud white noise.

If you choose to run a system to the spec of one of these i would expsect you to upgrade to a dedicated soundcard anyway, there possibly one of the easyest thing to fit on a pc.

Those cases are awesome. Ive been a huge fan of Commodore since I knew how to use anything with a keyboard (I still own an Amiga 600 and use it) and its great to see you guys are still around.
Im gonna have to look into getting myself one of the Minmatar cases, it would look so sweet sitting on my desk, but as someone else pointed out there is only 1 version whereas caldari and amar have 2, what gives?

That is true, but usually onboard audio is enough to get by. With this you HAVE to get a dedicated sound card.

Each to their own and all that, but IMHO those cases are fugly How gone in the head must you be to want to have a pc that is actually painted the same as 1 game you play...
Decent specs though, but bring back the Amiga
