This thread is basically about your stories of bluffing gone right or gone horribly wrong. Called bluff result in your enemies horrible destruction? Bluff your enemies into submission? I want to hear about it in this thread. Now here's my story.
Well there's a lot around it, but to make a long story short I was in a T2 gang "mostly Recon cruisers, a few HACs, interceptors, ect" with 30 guys in it. I was flying a Broadsword. The next system over had about 20-30 hostiles flying a similer gang that was comprized of a good number of force recons, a couple dictors, & a crapload of ceptors. This system was virtually a dead end with no way to get out or escape without going through this gate. The FC tells me to send my Broadsword in to the other side & drop a bubble, alone. Ok i guess since i did have about 20,000 shields & backup was nearby.
Now we get word that a much larger gang has showed up behind us in a non-dead end area with quite a few guys in more T2 ships. The FC starts warping the gang around the other system "where the 2 nearest gates are over 120AU apart no less" while leaving me in the system alone with the hostile gang of force recons & ceptors. Now obviously the hostile gang in-system thought it was a trap since what dumbass would guard this gate with 1 broadsword right? right!??
If i deactivate my bubble they might think something's up and attack, of course this also ruins any escape attempt i might think of. I have no clue what's going on the other side of the gate except that I have no support right there. I can't deactivate the bubble or they might think the trap's gone. So basically i'm sitting there trying to look as big & bad as I possibly can so this huge gang doesn't just swarm me. Looking calm & holding steady while in reality just trying not to **** myself. For over half an hour while the other 2 groups manuevered to fight each other. The funny thing is they never called my bluff. Eventually fighting was over on the other side & I manage to sneak out with my ship intact.
P.S. Last i heard the FC at the time was banned from ever leading a gang in our alliance with more then 10 members in it. I won't mention his name for his sake. _______________

Reminds me of warping in on a corp called "It's" with the ticker called "ATRAP"... I can't believe we didn't call that right away .

This is the cyno alt of my master character (who shall remain nameless)
I was on my way through Frulegar to pop up a cyno at one of the local stations for my main but didn't plan to do so until later that evening or possibly the next day even.
Upon entering the system, at first glance all looked clear and I began aligning to the station to dock. A recon uncloaks about 30km from me and starts heading my way pretty quickly. Seeing as how I was a dead man, I activated my cyno. He got to about 20km and locked me about the same time as the cyno field went up. I guess that scared him enough becuase he cloaked back up. I think he may have warped off too because my Capital ship never showed up and he didn't pop my frigate. (My main wasn't online and I wasn't going to bring him into a hotzone like that on the gate.)
Alas, my friggie still ended up going poof as a cruiser eventually showed up and popped me about 3 minutes later.
But at least the origninal bandito didn't get the km. |
