You see, what happened is that people trained all those skills to insta lock, insta gank, ecc. so people that maybe would like to spend time looking around, slowboating while chatting and so on get fairly fast the notion that doing that is a good way to lose ship and maybe even pod. In high sec. And then they are even called idiots as they weren't dashing from gate to gate.
So they learn very fast that the best procedure is to dash around without losing time chatting in local or sightseeing.

"better" in what respect? It was better in my view because I enjoyed the long debates with Avon and Co about replacements for insta-bookmarks. But there were fundamental problems if you didn't have WTZ or instas. I don't know whether it's a good idea to go over those again. But now you have dictors, hics and bubbles, which you didn't have before. Yes, it's probably bad for random suicide gate ganking in high-sec, but I don't think that's a particularly high priority at CCP.
Anyway, with respect to the arguments for/against, perhaps Eve Search can help.

Wow, lets all ignore the OP and just make fun of him because he is diclexic (yes I cant spell OMFG its the end of the world) Seariously he has a good point and would like to hear feedback wether it's agreeing with him or not. Making fun of someone with a condition such as his is just demeaning to the whole human race, you guys should go shoot yourselfs. I hope you have handicapped kids so you might actually realize how hard it is for people like him.
Now on the subject, yes it has an empty feeling and I agree with that, but as was said earlier, when your BSing with your friends or stoping to look around you lose your ship, so not much can be done about it.

I don't think it works like that
its not about that i just didnt wont people making a big deal over my spelling. i didnt need the headack about it.
i do think we lost alot becouse of this and the hole game feels diffrent now & i dont think for the better. if you all think its ok too see no ships in space other then you own corp ships then fine grouping togather blob it out somwhere. i just miss what i remeber was and it wasnt this dead quite and no ships evrywhere i go now. it just dont look like anything is realy going on anymore in eve. if 00 systems are full of ships now & empire so empty then ill see it soon enough i guess.
i dont even see what the big deal is here too fix this.. in real life you murder somone you can get a death penity so why dosnt ccp just make so if you gank aginst the rules in empire and take a pod then you get the same treatment back buy empire ships they shot your pod, fair is fair.
i hope this looks alot better too read.

spelling problems fix. And I was here before the wrap zero. Try coping 200 inst-bookmarks and watch the system lag... You do NOT want CCP to remove warp to zero!! PROMISES MADE PROMISES KEPT BRING THE BRIGHT STAR BACK!!!

well if it comes down too lag then i guess not. i still think insta's should only be in empire space.

Well... to be honest, I hated every slow ship I had before the change...
But the OP has a point... It does feel empty.
*shrugs* jita: 600 people in local - and at the gates all you see is the flashing.

I can see the OP's point. And I have also understood and appreciated the arguments for WTZ.
The thing is the two aren't mutually exclusive. I agree with everything OffBeat said... I would even go so far as to say it is one of the contributing factors to the <change> in the character of low-sec.
Note that I said change: I don't believe it is 'empty' as some would have you say, but I believe that it was different before that. It possibly seems odd, but I think that having to slowboat it to stations and gates gave a weakness to <everyone>. It also meant that roaming was slower and therefore people could hide in the depths of low-sec and actually not see pirates, because few of them would bother to spend half an hour trying to travel 5-6 systems when one could possible be attacked running to the gate.
I don't know... it certainly did seem better without wtz to me. I can't see how it could be taken out, but I don't see how to answer these problems either.
I feel for you OffBeat. It feels more like a game now, and less like a head-space.

As much as I think WTZ killed a lot of the atmosphere in EVE, I prefer it over laggy systems due to hundreds of thousands of bookmarks. The only way I see WTZ being taken out of the game is if the devs implemented a new rule that made it impossible to create bookmarks next to warp gates or stations (in space. not the stations themselves.) They could insert some kind of RP element about the space around warp gates being too unstable or something.
Unfortunately, that's probably not going to happen. The only thing I see that could bring the previous immersion/atmosphere back is possibly ambulation. But that's just speculation. eve-online.com |

I like WTZ. Making all those instas was a royal PITA.
