I don't think that CEO has any idea of how the net works. He probably just looks at the possibilities to make money, and has completely no idea how it might actually be possible without ruining his own company.
Besides, net neutrality is a requirement for fair competition - Otherwise you could monopolize where people buy their stuff online. If any judge would be stupid enough to allow for something like that to happen, i'd really like the third world war to start soon. |

Now you mention it...
ISPs could throttle their competitors' websites to run at such a crawl that customers cannot defect. |

Same stuff, Virgin actualy spelled out what they were doing while TalkTalk pretends otherwise.
Up to you but I'm happy with TalkTalk at the moment. Wondering who my Grid provider will be....

Edited by: Kirjava on 17/04/2008 18:40:13 The Grid, the guys making the Hadron Colider in CERN realised that the shear quantity of data the sensors would produce would be too huge to move in a meaningful timeframe on the existing internets.
So, the new system has copper wires and anything that can slow it down ripped out, new algorythms and methods of moving data ect ect.
In essense, it allows Terrabit speeds, meaning the problem moving data via a network would be the read/write speed of the HDD itself

Finally something that could actually max out the read/write speed of 3.0GB/s SATA link :) - maybe after this happens WD and Seagate would actually be motivated to get into Solid State Drives and make them alot cheaper? ^_^;
P.S. Virgin needs to die.
