I am in lack of information.
Friend of mine brought up on discussion that the eve-online source-code had been made avaible online.
There seem to be no information about it on the forums?
Does anyone know anything?
I dont know if its true, could all be rumors.

i highly doubt any company would release their source code on a game such as eve (though i have been wrong before)

It hasn't been "released," someone decompiled it and tried to blackmail CCP by threatening to release it. CCP told him to suck it, and he did (post the source code, not suck it). And if you download it they will ban you. That's about it, really.

Short version:
- If CCP were to make the EVE client open source, they'd announce it publicly.
- There was no such announcement.
- Therefore, the EVE client is not open source, and any source code you might find on the internet is illegal to possess at best and faked/infected with keyloggers at worst.
If I were you, I would stay the hell away. If you thought software companies disliked EULA violations, you'll discover a whole new level of dislike when it comes to source theft. And not just on principle - but rather because that sourcecode can be used to damage the gaming community severely.
