I have installed the new patch. When I have clicked on my character in the Character selection screen it loads as normal BUT when its "done" all I get is a black screen!!! If I hit ESC I do get the settingsmenu to show up. If i "close window" there I once again get the black screen! I can quit the game tho. What is wrong? I had NO problems with this until after the patch today. Please help!

Same thing here- been tuning in on subspace frequecy for 20 minutes....

 I got only Black screen when i try to play. Today before the patch it work well. Patching went well but it don't work.

I was having this problem on my wifes computer. After asking in #Help and getting little more than "I reinstalled and that fixed it" I decided to reinstall on that system.
Install went fine, patch updated fine, but now the client wont even run. lol
I'm having no problems whatsoever on my system (this one), but man, what a pain in the butt on the other. Everything was working fine on that system until the patch.

Exactly the same here. I had black screen after char selection. could hear station sounds and see folk on buddy list coming and going. cleared cache and that got me the can't connect to port etc error.
Reinstalled eve from cd and patched. that went OK but now when I accept on flash screen it disappears and client won't run ..........HELP !!!

In some way i am gald to here I am not the only one having this problem. I seldom get to play because of RL and this seems to be happening to me every time I put some time aside to play!

had trouble getting logged in ... after some time was able ... lost contact with ship after entering warp gate ... tried a reboot .. now nothing .. black screen when loading character ...

Reinstalled from CD and now the client won't run at all after autopatch, which several others have also reported.
I'm downloading the full version to see if that'll work. Only 3 hrs to go !!
And if it doesn't, that concludes my 10 month EVE online oddysey folks, 'cos I'm right out of ideas and CCP don't care too much 'cos there's 8,000 folk playing right now. Every patch is fatal for some, I guess this may be my turn

I in installed the patch and logged on and it worked great , then I log off for 2 hours then I log back on and all I get is a black screen . can a Dev or GM plz answer us?

Last steps:

- I thought I'd timed out so I closed the client, would come back when less laggy. (Other things to do)

same situation here. was working fine did some stuff tried to come from Jotenen to Haguler (or something like that) in Minmitar space and game hung at one of the jump gates, logged out and now can't get back in.

Same problem here. It seems to be a problem with displaying the inside of space stations.
After having the black screen with my main character I logged in with an alt who was in space. As soon as I docked with the alt I was back at the black screen.
Any solutions to this problem? |

I've been trying to get in for half an hour now. I just get to the char screen, it loads half way and then just pauses. If I wait a long time the progress bar goes and i'm left with a blank screen. This is with my main char, if I load in with an alt I can get into the game but it doesn't seem to load properly i.e. no bookmarks, no names on chat, petition button doesn't work.
Any idea how long before this gets fixed?
Also whats the email address of support so I can contact them, like I said above the petition button doesn't work. |

I had the same problem. I finally tried logging onto the test server and was able to with no problem. Now I can log onto Tranquility also with no problem.

Stuck in jumping loop at gate.
Now can't login with this character. Only get the "activating Orbis Telfyr" bar.
Other character working (minus help channel, recycling window etc.)
Suspect a corp m8 has same thing as he got stuck, tried to relog and never came back.

It doesn't appear that anyone knows what's wrong, but it's happening to many others including me. And I need to start my next skill going too . . .

Yup i think half the eve community is having this problem. And i know the devs will get this fixed hopefully by tonight but i can wait till tomorrow. I am in no rush expect my skills r going to stop soon andi don't want to waste 15 hours when i am at school by not starting a skill

Yep here too. I got logged in earlier got stuck at a gate, tried re-logging and haven't got back in yet.
My guy is out in space not safe in a station so I will be expecting reimbursement for anything lost during this time.
Wish just one dev would come and say something so we know they are at least working on it.

Finally got in after a different error message than I had been getting.
"The server node you were connected to went offline"
After that I was able to log right in and get into space very quickly.

Same problem, it happened to me as I was jumping through a new gate. The new gates seem to be out of whack. Mine was a jump from Nonni to Yulai...and somewhere along there it locked...in the jump coming into Niyabainen -> Kemerk

there are alot us of experienceing this ... i suggest posting your operating system and video card , to see if we have a common culprit .

don't know if it solves most off the problems but here is what I did and it made me login without a problem:
- open cache folder and delete the 3 macho***.dat files
- open the ini file and remove everything in it, save it and close it
- relaunch eve

Well, after a day of waiting, I can now log one character in out of 6, unfortunately, my least played character. All the others just get a black screen irrespective of how long I try and leave them logged in.
Even with the one character I can log in I can't see anyone elses chat in either corp chat or any of the channels I log in to :(
At this rate, CCP will be will be receiving a cancellation or two.
Would be nice if my emails were replied to

I now have the same problem.. just tried undocking from a staion, it said it was already undocking, tried logging back in after i got a black screen since i thought it timed out/crashed, now i cant log back in to my only character..

Same problem here, screen went black near a jumpgate (not jumping yet) It said server node gone offline.
Now I can't login, managed it once docked to a station and ever since nothing but error messages sometimes 2.
I am beginning to think CCp should get into plumming supplies or something similar as an industry, give up MMO's Totally.
I am not even gonna say what i think about Dev's because i will probably get banned. Suffice to say, if they were working for me along with my 200 odd programmers, they would have been out of the door long ago, without any severance and a guarantee no other company i do business with will ever hire them...
And whoever "person" that designed the CCP network and cluster (do they even have one?) wouldn't have gotten a job in the first place. Please, get a dictionary and lookup such words as, "redundancy", "troubleshooting", "Bandwith" Dedicated Backup connectivity, Dedicated Vsat Link's etc...
Just my 2 Cents.

Lemme followup with patch testing, QA, release followup and rollback, network monitoring, etc etc.
I DO releases for another MMO out there that runs Python, and even my lazy ass puts out better quality than what I've seen with this EVE game. It has got to be the most horridly run MMO out there.
I sure some of the developers might work hard, but in the END, it's the SHOW! If the SHOW sucks, EVERYTHING sucks. If you can't maintain a quality SHOW experience for the user, give it up.
In the few days I've been playing this EVE, I haven't seen a complete problem less 24 hour day where I can log in and not get the black screen of nothing. BS-ON!
The server even dies again 2 hours before the announced 12:00GMT maintenance time. If this is the fault of Stackless Python, you guys should Really consider using something less buggy. |
