Small question and sorry if this has already been asked but where does one find the faction Drones? Are they and invention item or are they loot?

I think the patchnote is confusing people Quote:

Doesn't this just mean the faction drones have been added to the variations tab of the T1/T2 version...?
Not ingame atm so can't check.

ok, now try reading the patch notes -then- replying...
Now try logging in, looking in the variations tab and seeing the 'faction' drones in there which happen to be, wait for it, 'Integrated' and 'Augmented' drones which, as I said, have been ingame since Trinity before replying.

They might have existed on the database, but until this patch, they didn`t drop...
You should know by now, that lots of items on the database often are only a precursor of what may come

the only thing they added in THIS patch was the variations tab itself. the faction drones WHERE in game since trinity, most did not know about it because:
1. They didnt read the trinity patchnotes
2. There was no variation tab
Now there is a variation tab, and now you know. T2 drones are still better tho.

How were they used in the alliance tourney then? No it wasn't BoB using them.

but they have since trinity dropped the prints and parts to make them

To see these rare beasts you need:
a) to run exploration radar sites in the 0.0 drone regions
b) kill a lot of sentient drones to get their loots
c) get lucky and get a BPC for the new drones from a hacking can
Once you did that you could manufacture the new drones.
Notice that this means they are pretty rare (not to mention overpriced) outside the drone regions.

I tend to agree. About the only versions that have value in my eyes are the heavies. Don't have to train a 20+ day skill as well as some 3+ day skills in order to use them.

Until this patch, i have only seen the integrated drones. I was assuming that they meant the augmented ones will be in this patch, but I may be wrong. Today i ran a site where i have gotten the bpcs for them and had it give me an expedition which i have never seen happen before. I am not sure what you are supposed to get from it though, since it gave me nothing |

This. Faction drones were in since I started playing (post-trinity). Saw some of them buggers on contracts before the new "change". Ridiculous prices for drones, though.

The main issue is that you spend many hours farming and all you get is the materials for 1-2 drones from each "sentient" (faction) spawn... which are still only 10% better than normal drones, if you're lucky. Perhaps if we could get the parts for like 80-100 drones per faction spawn, it might - MIGHT - be worth the effort.
Another chronically useless "feature".

I've not see any. Think CCP should bump up the drop rate for all the components and BPCs.
The high price makes them a novelty item but they should be available for general use like faction ammo.
Another good idea, poorly implemented IMO.

They've existed since Trinity. I've got about 15 BPC's and enough parts to build about 100 drones.
Exploration has been broken, however. 2 out of 3 Drone Radar sites dropped absolutely nothing. While I've heard of a freind finding the 'Augmented' drones, I only found 'Integrated' bpc's.
The 'Integrated' drones are about Tech 1.5, while the 'Augmented' are Tech 2.5 in power. In short, the 'Augmented' drones are the most powerfull ones you can get in Eve. That makes them worth quite a lot... if you can find the bpc's.

What about the DED 5/10 Drone Plex ? I usually CBA with that one.
