Prontifex THE INTERNET.	Posted - 2008.04.16 10:12:00 - [1] GoonSwarm has peaked. It happened so slowly, most of us didn't even realize it. GoonFleet was big enough on its own to be its own alliance, and its protector had basically dissolved. So we set off on our own, with just a few friends, to forge our own destiny. Does anyone remember how excited the atmosphere in this forum was as we waged war on D2? The fear of utter destruction - but also our determination - when D2 invaded? How things have changed. When we took JLO, it was utterly amazing. Sovereignty - GoonSwarm. Our efforts against Veritas finally bore fruit. LV began to crumble under our offensive. Every op thread generated 15 pages of excitement before the actual thread. People cared about Sov. Everyone was keeping count on spreadsheets, counting the moons, counting the towers. RA was invincible and ferocious. We were weak, but we knew our future was bright. Now GoonSwarm has reached the peak of its power. Our empire stretched at one point from the drone-filled belts of 7-k to the very heart of the enemy's shattered fortress in QY6. But QY6 is gone now. And with it, our hopes of defeating BoB. Indeed, it is now impossible for us to win. We blamed it on their eight Titans, but the reality is that we can't compete with their capital fleet. We can't even compete with their support. Goons are tired, they don't want to login anymore. They can't finish the job, and our allies have abandoned us. The dream of Pax Goonia is over. But, like an old sitcom that keeps running long pasts it prime, GoonSwarm soldiers on. It decays, it plays its low rated clip shows, it starts to rot from the inside. It was so insidious that most of us only paid attention to a few obvious symptoms until it suddenly became clear - Eve isn't fun anymore, because the GoonSwarm we once knew no longer exists. We thought that if we cleared out some pubbies, like VIDEO or Horizons, that things would get better. But nothing changed. Even the quality of the average post did not change. The rot continued, unabated. It's time to end it. And I don't mean the rot, because it is no longer possible. A year ago it was, perhaps. But now it has corrupted GoonSwarm so much that it is no longer possible to save it. We must return to the way things once were, or we risk destroying ourselves anyway. In fact, the alliance itself must be put to sleep, and its constituent corporations must go their separate ways. Perhaps we can split off the regions. We could go back to NPC space, living off the fruit of Delve or Syndicate. Or maybe it's no longer possible, after what we've been through. Maybe GoonFleet's destiny is to dissolve. Maybe things can never go back to the way they were. After all, what more is there to accomplish? But that is for GoonFleet to decide. And I say that every other corp must decide as well, independently. So please, directors. I know you will reject this out of hand. But it's time to see that this is a war we cannot win, and the alliance has past its prime.

The Goonies approach to game play and the community was always going to be their real downfall, and now that their allies are bored of their puerile attitude, they are left with nothing but to call each others names. Moral is at a all time low, they have no real leadership and they seem to change CEO's just as soon as the 'Titan Fund' gets big enough for the current one to retire to a nice 3 room apartment in Jita. No amount of speeches and forum posts can paper over the ****s in this self proclaimed grief corp :- "The main alliance members originated from the Something Awful forums, after being known to hack the online game second life" It might have been cute for a while, but after months of making COAD unreadable with your boring babble and SPAM and then trying to tell CCP how to run their game, you then start crying like babies when you cant find the 'I Win' Button.
