Star Wars has other super weapons too. Centerpoint or the Sun Crusher could make stars go nova. Also the size of the fleets that exist in the Star Wars universe make EvE blobs look like skirmishes. Also Wedge Antilles does not exist in EvE and Wedge>all |

Star Wars has the resources of an ENTIRE GALAXY rather than the bare handful of systems the EvE empires have access to.

I believe if its eve vs starwars it would be something along the lines of an allience between all 4 races vs the rebels(lol)and the empire.
Oh and if it was only oh say BOB vs the empire it would still be a tossup because eve calls primaries...stardestroyers shoot....Everywhere....Alot.
The entirety of EvE is much smaller than a galaxy... |

5000 systems = not that much compared to even 1 arm of a galaxy.

Edited by: pwnedgato on 17/04/2008 00:04:36 Someone who knows much more about astronomy than I oughta stroll through this thread at some point. Any detailed info I'd give you would just be yanked off a wiki.

Why is everyone ignoring the fact that the regular Star Destroyers would be more than able to take on their EvE equivalents? |

Star Wars vessels are all much faster than EvE ships (I.E. Star Wars space isn't liquid). Also they have no need to use gates. |

There are at least 1 trillion settled worlds in the SW galaxy I somehow doubt manpower is much of an issue. As for hit and run strikes the Empire can do them too. Hyperspace into a planet with just a few ISDs then initiate a BDZ. Few hours later planet is completely de-populated and uninhabitable for at least 40 years. Just repeat that on the few thousand settled systems.

I hope that was sarcasm...

According to the EvE chronicles one of the largest Amarr fleets ever assembled was 200 strong (I'm assuming those are just the BS)...

Concord is a joke. The reason cap ships aren't allowed in Hi-sec is because one of them can tank concord. |

If concord gets its full suite of powers then the emperor could just blank the minds of every enemy at once.

Edited by: pwnedgato on 20/04/2008 00:04:16 Well eventually the node would crash and all EvE stuff would cease to exist for a bit. Also quoting is not really necessary when the post you are talking about is right above yours...

Edited by: pwnedgato on 20/04/2008 00:15:28 Where are the super smart math types at? I'm waiting for them to show up and give an accurate breakdown of how powerful each universes weapons are. (With numbers and stuff not just some arbitrary listing)

Edited by: pwnedgato on 20/04/2008 16:23:19 Let us take a look at how powerful the SW weaponry is (based off of their visible effects on various objects in the movies)
Light guns: 300 million GW (6 megatons per shot, 24 guns, assume 1 shot every 2 seconds for time-averaged power output rather than peak output)
Heavy guns: 2.4 million megatons (200 gigatons per shot from each turret, 12 turrets)
Shield heat dissipation: 70 trillion GW peak Those are the numbers for Star Destroyers now let us see on a smaller sized ship the Slave 1.
Main guns: 64000 GW (2 kilotons per shot, 480 rpm firing rate onscreen in AOTC for time-averaged power output rather than peak output)
Missiles: 190 megatons (tail-launched missiles; seismic charge mines are roughly 12000 megatons)
Shield heat dissipation: 2 billion GW peak
Now for the big one Death Star blast (roughly 20 billion trillion megatons, ie- the number "two" followed by 22 zeroes). Planet blown apart at 5% of the speed of light. Even if we assume the shot was time-lapse photography (not that there's any reason to), the absolute lower limit is roughly 50 quadrillion megatons.

Edited by: pwnedgato on 20/04/2008 17:28:04 Place holder~~ Edit 1: watts is the throughput while the megatonnage is the observed effect.

This thread make me yearn for the ST vs SW threads of last Thursday. (I.E. 2004) Someone go make one here!
