Hi: 2 light neutron blaster II(null), 5heavy missiles med: cap booster, x-large sheild booster, invuln field,em harnder, target painter/warp scram lows: co-processor, 2bcuII,dcII
rig: anti thermal screen
drones: 5 warrior II's
pvp ferox not meant for solo. Just made it to supplement a gang in pvp. The blasters were a last minute thing just to pop drones that come after me and can be changed out for anything along with the target painter. Suggestions?
For some reason I really like the ferox. Don't ask me why I just do.

I have a mate that runs the 5 heavies in the highs. Rolls passive shield tank, though. Does rather well.

You'll be fitting guns to a Drake next.

No offense but that is a terrible Ferox pvp fit. If you use heavies - stick with a Drake. If you use an x-large shield booster you will cap out.
This is far better:
3x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Damage Control Unit II
10MN MWD Scram Web Invulnerability Field II Large Shield Extender II
6x Heavy Ion Blaster II (faction anti-matter/Null) Heavy/Heavy Assault Missile Launcher
5x ECM light drones, or warrior IIs
3x Core Defence Field Extender Rigs or Anti-EM, Anti-Thermal, Anti-Kinetic rigs.
More than 2x the dps of your setup. Buffer tank is fairly decent, considering you have to fill for full tackle. __________________________________________________ Sup brosef! Destry's Lounge is looking for a few good drunks - contact me in game.

Listen to Omav, and why the hell would you fit launchers to a ferox anyway? If you want to fit launchers ,get a drake |

If you're able, maybe add a Smartbomb for pesky drones.

depends on the role of the ship
i would prefer smaller Medium size rail guns, smart bomb passive tank with a buffer some MAG stabs and some PDS
and a set of ECM drones or other nasty EW drones
i haven't flown a ferox seriously, but smart bomb ensures that you kill the drones better than with blasters
i would not rather trust blasters because caldari are slow in general and have bonus to optimal range and not to damage |

Edited by: James Lyrus on 17/04/2008 22:58:28 Don't pvp fit a ferox with missiles. The Drake does that better. (Arguably it's just plain better anyway).
6x Ion Blasters 1x HAM 10mn MWD, web, point, 2x LSE 3x Magnetic field stabilisers, PDS II
3x Core defense field extenders.
48k effective hitpoints, and a 100dps of regen. 474dps with faction ammo. You're about cap stable too.
Of course, the Brutix is _probably_ better at it - you can certainly gank a lot harder with the brutix.
Edit: Quick runthrough of setups says that whilst you can do a better brutix gank fit, or tank fit, the ferox does come out slightly ahead when you want to do a bit of both - and the brutix needs cap injectors. -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? |

This is very nice imo, alot of bang for you're buck.

It's a nice fit for sure but best part of 100M on a ferox? Must be a cult thing...
edit : The trouble is it needs those extender rigs to make it last long enought to get some damage down. As above, brutix can do it better with 'built in' damage mods and full tank if needed. __________________________________________

You can use resistance rigs instead if you want. They're not quite as good, but they do the job.
Or just not rig, or use t1 or whatever. I baseline on T2 + rigs, because that way I know anything less than T2 will fit, with good skills, and that ship'll perform marginally less well if the rigs are too expensive.
There's only a _few_ situations where I consider the rigs to be 'mandatory' (and that's where the rigs make the difference between cap stable, and not, or 'can fit all this stuff' and not)
