I'm curious, what's the going rate for a vote? ------------------------------
EVE is a cold, harsh world, filled with people that would kill you without a second thought. The forums are even worse.

Anyone who actually sends you ISK is an idiot.
First of all, how are we to know that you will indeed vote for them? This can't be verified unless you FRAPS it, and if you didn't it would be too late.
Second of all, if your vote is based entirely on who will give you the most money, I don't think it's one any of the CSM candidates would especially want. A single vote by someone who doesn't give a **** isn't worth one tenth of the vote of someone who is willing to participate in the political process more fully. They will support their candidate's views, argue for them, and generally make their presence (and the candidate's presence as a result) heard. ---------------- Tarminic - 34 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.81 (Updated 4/8) |

/me shudders at the amount of vouchers I still have... Hopefully thought the CSM isn't viewed as a throw away event like the ISD treated the gallente election. Err actually Tarm, they count exactly the same. 1 Vote = 1 Vote. 10 people that really, really care about their issue aren't going to beat 50 people that just voted for chribba because he has a dreadnought in highsec, no matter how eloquent they are.
...Its too bad, I'm still not convinced that I want democracy in EVE.

No, but activists are more effective in the political process than normal voters, which is what I was getting at. ---------------- Tarminic - 34 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.81 (Updated 4/8) |

Well anyone can give up their right to privacy, such as the case for those who submitted copies of their passport. Maintaining that information if consent by the individual is withdrawn will get CCP into trouble though. I woould highly suggest anyone who submitted their passport to CCP to request that all copies be destroyed to protect their identity.
Not only that, but since CCP now has a US entity that isn't covered under Safe Harbour they could be in trouble with the EU privacy directives so it is probably dicey there.
The major concern though is that a passport is used for international travel and is to be presented to authorized immigration officials of the nation to which an individual is requesting entry into. I highly doubt CCP actually represents Iceland authorities which is where it is problematic.
For all we know, CCP is gathering this information to create a massive identity theft ring (after all, they would then have name, address, credit card number and passport information) all under the pretense of a free trip to Iceland. Nothing different than telemarketers calling and claiming you won a trip to the Bahamas....

Sad, but true. I hope and pray this doesn't devolve into the Gallente election debacle again. Or worse, the Gallente elections that is actually ended with player input. Oh, the shame.
