If you are in 0.0 with no station and have a POS with a corp hanger can you set up each 7 hangers to be 'owned' by certain people and only those people can drop/take from it? (Yes there will be people with higher roles that can take as well but we are looking for lower type roles that would 'lock' most others out)
And if this is possible what are the mechanics for allowing it?

Hangars in POS's are based on the Hangar Access (other) roles. So whenever you give those out they get access to all offices with that division that are not your HQ or their 'based at' station. |

Yes you can limit access to an individual using by packaging up roles into a title and applying that title to the hanger.
I've done it myself

It doean't seem possible.... or you must be doing it differenty.
The way we have been told to give out name to hangers is to have CEO go to Corp window/Home/Divisions then you can change the 7 divisions to different names. But ALL hanger divisions are now named that everywhere in game.
What are you doing differently?

The names apply to all hangars everywhere. There are only 3 seperate locational settings:
HQ (the hangars at your offical HQ office) Based at (the hangars at the station you have set for that member to be based at) Other (every other hangar, all POS hangars of that division)
You can't set each POS individually, and any permissions you set will apply to all hangars of that division that are not your HQ office hangars or that members 'based at' hangar.
So if you give someone access to hangar [1] - Other, it will apply to all POS's and nonHQ/based at offices.

There is a way this can be done.....
You use the 'Based at' roles very carefully.
You have a number of Offices and only up to 7 pilots per Office location. You give each of the 7 pilots access to only One Hanger Division each - ergo they each have their own.
The HQ Office can give general access as it's set differently.
Do not use the Others' option for anything at all. This last is a problem for POS labs and Carrier (sic) hangers as they are based off this one.
However, by using multiple Offices and careful contraol, I suspect something like what you want could be achieved.
That all said, the Hanger Divisions all have the Same names for each one everywhere. CEO and Directors have Full access to all of them all the time. |

^ He wants to do it with POS's....
What's the point in doing it in stations ? Each person has their own hangar there anyway...

The corporate hangers can only have one set of names, but yes you can limit use to certain roles/titles as they have stated above, The easiest way to run it is simply Number them or word them Alpha, Beta, Theta .. etc etc and keep a webpage or template with names assigned to key hangers in key systems.
Other than that, no you cannot have your own named hanger with limited access on posses (Unless you anchor a Corp Hanger for each player and name the structure)

The 'other' option makes things rather difficult. Also, people will be able to cancel and deliver each other's jobs, because of the Factory Manager role requirement.
If you're dealing with multiple towers in the same corp, and you want people to have access to some of them but not others, the only way is via forcefield passwords; not much use, really, if anyone else ever wants to use those starbases. This POS will not be used for research. This is simply to store ore in a hanger in O.o so each person's ore doesn't mix with others. People will be able to mine anytime and know the ore they mine will be split at the refining time based on the amount they mined.
(This POS is not in a system with a station or we would use it instead)

Edited by: Rashmika Clavain on 22/04/2008 08:35:16 There are seven divisions which you can correlate to the seven hangers... Create a title, and limit access to that a hanger using that title (such give only). People who you assign the title to will only be able to "give" to that particular hanger. You can then apply any of the available titles with differing levels of access at different hangers.
There will be a table with the hangers along the X (top horizontal) and titles down the Y (left side vertical). Each box in the table will represent a title at a particular hanger, and you'll have the option of Give and/or Take to tick.
Try setting it up and test it with an alt For me, I had a research title that allowed memebrs access to the Corp Research hanger and run Corp research jobs at the POS. I had a Mining title that allowed access to the Mining hanger (to drop off ore, not to take it! Give only) and a Production title that could Give and Take from the Mining Hanger.
EDIT: When I set mine up, I did not assign ANY roles... I wrote down the jobs the people needed to do, and then created a title containing all those roles. I then added people to the roles and assigned the titles to the various hangers. |
