Thinking of throwing a few smartbombs on my left over high slots - sorry I know their may be opnions about what is better to put there but that's not what I'm asking - but what is the downside, apart from cap? Plus 1) Will they destroy cans/loot/wrecks 2) Will they blow up my cruise missiles as I fire them 3) In deadsapce is it okay to use them anywhere and not have to worry about getting concorded?
Thanks for any answers or opinions about the USE of smartbombs

1. No 2. ??? Really not sure.. I am guessing no 3. Yes
The big concern people have with them is that someone could potentially sneak up to you cloaked and get you CONCORDed. Drop a jetcan at the beacon and it should theoretically decloak anyone who jumps in.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.

Ah, so if they probe you out, and then jump to you during a deadspace mission, they still have to come in via the gates, so drop a can there:)

Well done for getting the answers all exactly wrong. 1. Wrecks, yes. 2. Yes, if you time it badly. 3. No, there are often neutral structures around. |

Smart bombs can be dangerous in high sec mission running. Someone may probe you out in mission location and sucide themselfs on your smartbombs if they get the chance

Who the hell would probe you out in hi sec to suicide, how would they even know if you were using smart bombs? and further more. unless your at war, it doesn't even matter because then they can shoot you anyways, dont pay attention to that comment strombringer said. its utter nonsense, if that happens to you, tell me i'll refund your ship!

It happens all the time, and they don't even need to suicide if you're smartbombing. The normal scam is that they scan you down, come into your mission, steal your loot. Then if you fire back on them, they come back in a gank ship and blow you up. They can do this because they stole from you so you got kill rights, then shooting on them gave them kill rights. The answer is to break the chain by not shooting at them. Many people even shoot at the loot before they get to it to discourage this.
If someone's smartbombing however, you can just warp into their mission, get hit by the SB (without having to steal) and concord will wipe them from the face of [insert system here] |

You get concorded for some structures in deadspace. Do not use them in hi sec. |

1. No 2. Yes 3. Yes and No. In a mission, you can smartbomb with no problems as mission structures dont get hit for some reason. However, people have a habit of warping to a mission runner in a cov ops/recon or even a noobship and bang, you get concorded.
Conclusion - Never use smartbombs in high sec. |
