Edited by: Jaedar Metron on 19/04/2008 17:56:03 I wasn't too sure if I should put this in Character sales, price checks, or here, but then I thought it would be nice to have an discussion regarding this, so I put it here after all. Please don't shoot me if I was horribly wrong
I'm one of those evil garden gnomes that infest the less safe areas of your garden. Because of obvious reasons, I can't enter highsec... Anyway, a few days ago I managed to lose my ship (Fun battle tbfh), and I noticed that I really needed a proper income for this gnomish business to work out. At the same time, I really don't have the money to get a seperate account for missionrunning, and I really don't want to stop training my main while training a missionrunner either.
So I check the character auction forum. It's filled with all manner of tasty ttreats, but they are all mutli-million characters with tons of skills I wouldn't need at all... And they're all so damn expensive Why are there no one who sells "starter" missionrunner characters? Like enough skills to fly a Raven ok-ish in a lvl4, or even a Drake ok-ish in lvl 3's.
I would probably pay for that, if the price was allright
Which brings me to my next question; how much would such a char cost on the open market? Obviously they would be nowhere near the prices of what we find in the charactersales today, but then again I have no idea what such a character is worth...
Uh, sorry about molding this into a rant, wasn't on purpose... anyway, discuss I guess? Or flame me for being a pirate who wants to earn isk
Regards -JM
EDIT: REALLY sorry about my post layout, it hurts my eyes as well looking at it

The problem with trading low-sp characters is that the return on the $20 character transfer fee is rather low compared to selling GTCs directly, unless people charge a rather large amount of isk for them.
It's a reasonable idea, but I doubt you'll get many takers. |

There's plenty of agents in lowsec and even 0.0... what's stopping you from running those missions ?

EDIT: That being said, I can see how people would ignore selling low-skilled characters then... A bit sdad for me, but I guess I can find other ways of making isk

Well, you could create a Drake-oriented L3 mission-running alt in a matter of weeks, a month tops, and it would cost you less ISK than buying it outright (Achura Engineer 9/9/9/9/3, set of +3 implants, do L4basic/L3 advanced learnings, then go for ship/weapon skills since most engineering skills you need are already there).

A month is still a bit too long for me, sadly.
Thanks for the suggestion though, If I find that I have a month to spare, I'll check it out

Edited by: Sphynx Stormlord on 19/04/2008 22:15:58 If you can afford to buy a character, why not do some trading. That can be done with a basically untrained alt.
Have you realy found an area of lowsec with no agents?

Well, it's possible to roll a fresh alt that can manage over 50 buy/sell orders without any additional training, though obviously not with good standings or remote order management skills. My research services Spreadsheets: Top speed calculation - Halo Implant stats |

Edited by: Jaedar Metron on 19/04/2008 23:09:23 I do have a trader alt, and he's doing ok. It tends to go a bit slow though
And I'm not sure about the lowsec agents really, my HQ system have a few lvl 1's but the other systems nearby are pretty damn dangerous
