I lost connection all of the sudden (30 secs ago), and now EVE shows Tranquility status as 'OK, 0 player'.

I had set a long skill training, and adviced others to do the same, but I was in the middle of cargo-running and would very much like to get my ship in dock before DT :/

Yep, I had 7 Ogres out at the time and had a short skill training.

I keep getting to the char selection screen, choose Qwakrz, it reports "Activating Char" and then FAILED :(

I had just finished chaining a spawn and was heading to pick up the loot... now i just get Black Screen :( I hope my cans are still there and my ship isn't blown up.....

Tranquility still shows up as "OK, 2.158 players" for me, but I'm getting stuck in the 'Entering space' screen.

Alot of system error's and ure ship dont dissapear or warp away.
i fianly logged in and found my corp members b/s in a 0.0 belt still there when he crashed he was gone for about 25 mins...he logged on and warped off and just left it....
This looks pretty bad.

Managed to relog twice now with both accounts.
Had to make an extra relog for my other account since it didn't see Riddari flying about while Riddari could target it and have visual and all! (would have been really bad to get ganked that way, one player sees other but not vice versa).
Switching to long time skills just in case

you still have 24hrs to complete the mission from start time right?? servers shouldn't be down that long. *crosses fingers* You probably won't get the mission bonus though

Majority of the level 3 missions I've done have given you 24 hours to complete it. Can you remember if your mission had a 24 hour limit or something less?
If 24 hours, you should be ok even if you finish the mission after the server upgrade downtime. You won't get the time bonus, though.

90 minutes before extended DT and Eve decides to break down again, perfect timing! Remember a big hardware upgrade where the whole system was screwed off and on over a number of days and we all got some free time credited to us, just praying that this is not the case this time round
Still would give me a chance to catch up on my RL this weekend, so some silver lining...

really ****ed off..was 12 minutes to changing my skill to a long term one(i would not have been able to play for 24 hours) and was 5 mins from finishing up 4th agent mission of 4..so will lose 4 faction hits for failure.
Yay for european game companies screwing up...after dealing with anarchy online's, 6 months per patch idiocy..now eve online's a patch a night(although not too bad of an idea)...not to mention dropping their server down as normal when they screwed up and pulled plug an hour early..clearly forgetting that people were in middle of doing things..or needing to do something before the "expected" downtime.
Truly wish they would have got server working..booted them up for 30 mins to let people finish up their agent missions or get skills set...so the 12 hour(now probably more) downtime would be ok.
I've lost the patience for dealing with this stuff(maybe game developers/caretakers outta play other games while they work on their own..so they know what NOT!! to do to their game)..if i gotta deal with Anarchy Online type idiocy..i will be canceling very fast..and not looking back.

tbh i havent even logged in for the last 4 days, training evasive manuvering 5. I always try and avoid doing anything patch days as much as possible, and with all the stuff that has happened over the last couple of days doing anything in game is a risk atm.

CCP, please... don't EVER do that again, pulling the plug earlier then you said you would WITHOUT any notice at all. And yes, the server wasn't exactly stable but after spending 20 minutes getting my chars logged in it was OK.
