I would like to state before embarking upon this missive that this is not an official CVA document and it no way reflects an official CVA policy. It is written purely from a personal standpoint!
To the pilots of Mercenary Coalition
When my former Praetoria Imperialis Excubitoris (PIE) colleagues Caya, Golan Trevize and Kalorn F'anta left that fine organisation and joined Mercenary Coalition several years ago it prompted me to reevaluate my entire view of the organisation
How could brave, loyal Amarrian pilots allow themsleves to be swept into the ranks of infidel barbarians whose only interest in life was the pursuit of ISK?
It baffled me for a time, however I gradually came to see that despite its mercenary nature MC retained a core of honourable and decent pilots that had pledged loyalty to each other rather than existing institutions and alliances.
Since that time the CVA and Mercenary Coalition have clashed heads on several occasions most recently in Querious where CVA went to the assistance of its long term ally IAC.
These clashes sadden me because I believe that at their heart both CVA and MC operate by the same codes of honour and virtue even if our loyalties lie in diffent directions.
At present Mercenary Coalition has generally been acknowledged to have fallen upon 'challenging' times. Its decision to abandon its former 'leaseholder' Band of Brothers (BoB) could come back to haunt it, as could the subsequent decision to attack the peace loving pilots of Intestellar Alcohol Conglomerate (IAC).
When we face challenging times in our lives most people turn to God. Certainly that is what supports the CVA. Our religion and belief in the rightness of our cause gives us succour and sustinence. This permanently refreshes our vigilance and determination to extend Amarrian values throughout the galaxy.
Yet Mercenary Coalition has no god except ISK and there is only so much ISK one can accumulate before it loses its power as an incentive!
So I have this message for the Mercenary Coalition:
Abandon your mercenary ways. Fight not for ISK but fight for a higher, holy cause.
I, and many other Amarrians recognise the prowess of Mercenary Coalition's pilots and their zeal and capabilities. I recognise the talents that your pilots' possess. Yet I also see the despondency that has gripped many. Yes I have no doubt that you will defend your 0.0 possessions until the end and make your enemies pay dearly. But what will it really achieve apart from the destruction of what once was the galaxy's most feared fighting force?
I offer an alternative for your consideration.
Renounce your worldy possessions, hand them over to the Amarrian Empire and forge yourselves anew as a Holy Order dedicated to the imposition of Order and Amarrian values across the galaxy.
Join the CVA and our allies in our eternal struggle against the darkness and chaos that threatens to overwhelm this galaxy. Help us combat the forces of terrorism and 0.0 piracy. Help us expand and develop civilisation in 0.0, opening up these region for all who would exploit them peacefully!
Yes I am sure some of your pilots will not like the idea of working for our Holy Empire, no doubt some will quibble about our support for slavery and other such insignificant matters, but ignore them, for this is an opportunity you should not pass up - for your own long term benefit!
Amarr Victor!

So essentially, some pilots are making a lot of ISK not fighting for your God, and you're feeling sore about it. You do realise the chances of anyone in Mercenary Coalition giving this offer serious consideration are roughly analogous to the chances of PIE Inc. unconditionally surrendering to me, right?
Seriously, MC are much more successful and well-known than VV, and all the petulant whining in the world isn't going to change that. If you don't like what they're doing, I suggest you declare war on them - I mean, you've already done it with me. On that note, I'm looking forward to seeing you in space - but you should know that I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to happen. ----- CEO, Mixed Metaphor Dance Commander |

My thoughts exactly.
If there's no isk trading hands here, I'd be very suprised to see MC do this, but who fracking knows these days. Current political climate is more fecked up than a Gallente pleasure hub.
Good show Hardin. Could do with more Amarr targets, to be honest

Allow me to re-arrange this proposal with light of Sani Sabik ways: Keep your isk and make much more. Fight for pleasure, power and wealth and for the law of the strong and capable.
Kill the loyalists endlessly and if you do so in the name of Sani Sabik, may your wallets and efforts be praised.

Hells bells, we're all doing it now. Hardin has started a craze
With that in mind I'd like to make a proposal to MC:
Give up being mercenaries! Throw away your guns and your desire for isk!
Become my personal dancing entourage!
Dance for me and I might throw some corpses your way to have fun with! All this political killing for money is useless anyway. Becoming my dancers will a) make me happy and b) make your lives complete.
Listen to my proposal. I'm sure it's less rediculous than Hardins.

I must make it clear that Hardin is currently on loan to Epitoth Fleetyards and Vigilia Valeria to assist with some administrative matters. His views do not therefore always reflect VV or Epitoths views.
It must also be said however that on this matter we agree completely. The temptation of isk has tainted many of my former allies and it saddens me greatly. The reformation of the Mercenary Coalition into a Holy order is a great idea, tho perhaps many of them are beyond salvation.

The freecaptains of the Star Fraction wish to make it clear that while our doors are open to any pilots who may wish to join our cause, we see no need to hover over the battlefields of the cluster like a disreputable and ragged carrion bird, gimlet-eyed and seeking new allies, levies and bulwarks in the supposed misfortunes of others. I would suggest any pilots considering a relocation give due consideration to the sturdiness of the perches from which such opportunist creatures caw and flap their bedraggled wings in antic displays calculated, so we must guess, to bolster only their own position.
Whatever others may believe, the freecaptains see no noble opportunity for pilots to advance themselves here, only a snap-jaw trap baited with brummagen and false religiosity.

Wow. What an awesome opportunity Hardin proposes! Mercenary Coalition has the opportunity to become slaves to an upstart branch of the Amarrian Empire, transfer all of their assets to their new masters, and exchange ... get to fight their new masters' battles for them! And the offer is not even endorsed by either VV (the alliance in which Hardin temporarily resides) or CVA (the alliance Hardin explicitly states he is not speaking for)!
I'd jump at this offer while it lasts! Well, either that or jump on the offerer. One or the other.

I stand corrected. VV -- while disavowing Hardin as a spokesman -- nevertheless endorses the concept of MC enslaving themselves to CVA. CVA as yet firmly hold no position on the matter. As to MC, I strongly suspect that if they were inclined to live in Providence, they could make as muc room for themselves as needed on their own terms -- and without paying Hardin's suggested price for Amarrian friendship.
Now that would be a course of action worth endorsing...

You're right. It is a good offer. You should take it, as it beats the alternative.
Mind you, given your history, you probably won't start in a position as good as you describe. Still a good offer though.

It is in fact more likely - that they join up the freedom fighting forces, to even up.
There is no challenge in siding with a carebear nation in yet another fortress that only bob could break. Whats the point? MC has highly skilled pilots, they dont want their skills to be wasted for refueling posses to uphold sovereignity.
Much more likely they would , if they still exsited, look for an opponent bigger than themselfes - thats what they always did, i believe ISK was just a biproduct to cover the expenses.
Holy cause, hardin youre nuts :) A long shot indeed.
However, of course i do not really know what goes on inside seleenes head and those of the MC who still identify themselves with that abbreviation. but i am guessing theyre having a good but short laugh now.
