Which ship class is best suited for killing battleships that are missioning or ratting?
I was thinking about mabe using a gank Domi, if i have to get into hac's or somthing it will take me ages to train. |

Curse should do fine. Use the rats DPS to your advantage while neuting him down. |

Curse is fine but it needs to be nanoed at 4k/sec minimum otherwise some ratters might be able to kill it. --

Can't nano terribly well in deadspaces, turret BS'es shouldnt be a problem, not sure if an AB fit can outrune cruise missiles. If you know the damage type, it's easy to fit to tank it though.

I'd take either a Jag, Domi, or Ishtar.
A pair of logistics ships would be lol as well... (8 or so med neuts on target).

That said, HACs and recons are awesome, but a buffer tanked gank boat BS with some tackle can usually drop a mission or ratting BS thats already engaged, taking damage, or mission aggrod.

The Machariel. Although it will take a while to train.
Vindicators are also acceptable, although not as fast.

curse isnt that great, a decent bs will tank long enough for the curses amazing supply of 6 cap charges to run out. and even if you do kill it, your ****** for the rest of your roam :(
use a nano ishtar, works great

4500 is the threshold at which precision cruises cannot touch a target, but 'nearly' 4500 they'll do minimal damage.
What really makes me sad is that precision heavys do the same thing. -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? |

Mission runners/ratters are easy to kill. The challenge of catching them is relativly harder. Any nano hac should kill the none deadspace ratter mission runner easily. In deadspace a non nanoed hac should be do the job fairly easy, the nano fit will also work most of the time. Since hes in a npc ship, you can always just bail if there should be trouble.
Dont use a bs for the job, it will kill the npc'er easy, but is a lot slower and will have a harder time catching him ______________________________________________________________

There's nothing wrong with the Domi. The Jag and Logistics ships were "lol", but would undoubtedly work.

Mission BSs always have a huge hole in their tanks (dmg resist).
So its fairly easy to take them out.
You need to have a missile boat... A ship scanner. A warp disruptor.. and ECM (drones + jammer).
Hence, the Scorpion is the best mission BS killer.
[Scorpion, New Setup 1] Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Reactor Control Unit I Capacitor Power Relay II
Warp Disruptor I ECM - Spatial Destabilizer II ECM - Spatial Destabilizer II Ship Scanner I Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II LiF Fueled I Booster Rockets
Siege Missile Launcher I, Caldari Navy Mjolnir Torpedo Siege Missile Launcher I, Caldari Navy Inferno Torpedo Siege Missile Launcher I, Caldari Navy Inferno Torpedo Siege Missile Launcher I, Caldari Navy Inferno Torpedo 500W Infectious Power System Malfunction Heavy Nosferatu II
Perma-run all modules, keep the other guy jammed, scrambled and NOS+NEUT'd.
Can load medium NEUT drones for additional cap killing or ECM drones to perma-jam it.
You just jump in, afterburn to the guy (usually most mission runners dont even move from the warp-in spot), scramble him, ECM jam him, nos+neut him, use the ship scanner to see what resist he did not load, switch your torpedoes to that damage type and blast away.
No matter the tank he has, if you fire the damage type he did not load resists for, you just end up taking down his shield boost tank..and that will eat his cap up real fast.. and you draining his cap as well.
You have no tank yourself but you dont need it. The guy wont get many shots at your ship with that jamming power. |

That really isn't enough jamming power to keep a BS jammed reliably.
If you had to use a scorp I'd take out all the cap rechargers/cpr and put a cap booster in instead (if you really need it) then fill up the rest of the slots with ECM in meds/DC in lows.
Also take out the ship scanner and put a webber or another ECM there. Instead of scanning for the lowest resist just load up one of each type of missile for your first volley and see which does the most damage.
All in all though I could think of much much better ships to use than a scorp.

Scorpion looks great on paper but it doesn't really cut it. The main problems are:
1. Omnitanking does occur, hence good DPS is necessary to break a tank before support arrives. 2. Drones. 3. FOFs. 4 People do move away from the warp-in, especially if the next gate is 40 km away. Scorp is slow. Someone with AB may be able to run out of scram range. 5. That fit doesn't have enough jamming power. 6. Rat aggro will cause you real problems. 7. Micromanaging ECM.
I've used Scorp to kill mission runners, and it works well enough. Until I didn't notice that I'd missed a jam cycle and got ripped apart by torps. It's just too much trouble.
Just use a torp Raven and rip your mission runner apart. It's far easier.

<Scorp fit without SDAs>
You have no tank yourself but you dont need it. The guy wont get many shots at your ship with that jamming power.
At max skills with that fit the ECMs will have 7.875 Gravimetric Strength. Ravens have 22 Sensor Strength (Rokhs have 24), so with two of those you have a 59% chance per cycle to jam that Raven (55% on a Rokh). Also, if he's packing FoFs and you're the closest target, well. . . he's got some semblance of a tank (especially if he's fit I-fields), you don't. -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. I would say Gank mega geddon or typhoon will work well.
All can hold the enemy and deal around 800+ with a plate or fairly good tank.
Mega is simple Neut blaster's and the best AB you can get to close the range to blow them apart.
Geddon get in warp jammer range and just unload.
Typhoon AC+torps and heavy drone's is just nasty and its fast and light for a battleship. Death is great rember where all dying to get there. |

Yep. If in doubt , bring a gank ship and melt it.
BC (especially cane / harb) should do the job if you can use damage types to your advantage. It's best to hunt with a gangmate or 2 , instead of having to handle both the tackling and the dps. Heavy dictors can take a while to break mission tanks but have no problem tanking the incoming damage.
