Does the connections skill raise standings with pirate corps or is criminal connections only useful here?

Connections will raise it if your pirate faction standing is greater than zero. Otherwise diplomacy is more useful and effective than criminal connections (and they don't stack.)

Thanks. Here's another question.
I have been running missions for a particular corp. If i join a player corp that has low standings with that faction/corp will it change my standing/ability to run the same missions?

I think so. I remember not being able to buy JCs from Spacelane anymore when someone with rather bad standing to them joined my corp but I dunno if this is the same thing.

Yeah I'm interested in knowing if a corps standing to a faction will affect my standings in a positive way.
Most people will read this thinking it's part of my post, when its actually my sig :P

No,your Corporation won't lower your personal standings with the corp, and to the question below yours...Jump clones can only be bought when your corp average standing with the corp is 8 or higher, so when you joined and your corp didn't have that...you couldn't.

Just to confirm:
Are you saying connections and criminal connections do stack?
Yes, my pirate standing is > zero.

Diplomacy, Criminal Connections and Connections never stack... if more than one applies, the higher one will be used, the other ignored.
Sadly, allegedly Connections also applies to pirate factions (not just empire factions), this rendering Criminal Connections redundant (and therefore useless). Would it have been rank 2 instead of rank 3, then maybe it whould have been marginally useful... as it stands now, it's totally useless.
Jump clones used to require both a 8.0 personal-to-NPC-corp AND a 8.0 player-corp-to-NPC-corp standing a long time ago, but that "AND" was changed to an "OR" about a year ago (give or take a couple of months).
Also, for mission access purposes, your player-corp-to-NPC standings do not matter one little bit, it is a completely irrelevant value. The only use is for jumpclone install. For everything else, only your own standings matter.
