Edited by: Patch86 on 26/04/2008 22:10:08 EDIT: Oh, and ***SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER***, for kessah's benefit
I'm enjoying it. Cylon civil war? Good. Crazy Starbuck? Good. Crazy Baltar? Always good.
And Lee was always a douche bag, now he's just an official one. |

One of the best Baltar scenes so far, incidentally. Made me lol so very hard ------

Originally by: Candice Bormardin Speaking about one Cyclon recognizing another, I wonder if they just don't have some continuity problems.
Starbuck's husband is recognized by a raider across some distance of space while each is in their space ship (of course the raider is a space ship) but - the 6 in the cell with Col. Tigh gets much, much closer to him ... in fact she looks like she was about to have sex with him and yet she couldn't tell he was a Cylon.
Well, I thought the reason that the raider recognised Anders was because he transmitted something to it. Remember he was about to shoot it, then he couldn't due to a "rookie error", then the raider spins round to shoot him. Suddenly, Ander's eyes flash red and the raider does a U-turn and the battles over.
Seems to me like some sort of OMFGEMERGENCY protocol went off in Anders, and the raider received a transmission from him with new orders (to bugger off). Seeing as that didn't happen with Tigh and 6, Tyrrol and Boomer or Baltar and anyone, we can assume that none of them were recognised to each other. ------

Compare the first season when they built a stealth Viper, and had to mine a planet for fuel to now when they barely run into a Cyclon fleet anymore. Whats the point of this show anymore? Star Trek has the same fate when they tried some series long story arc instead of just 1 hour of entertainment.
Yes, god forbid the explosions take a backseat to character development!
I like the fact that they don't get involved in an epic battle every other episode. Hell, if they did they'd run out of ammo, fighters, and crew in no time. Plus, it makes the awesome battles even cooler.
I definitely tend to agree. I'd be bored sick of it if the program was nothing but shakey-cam explosions the whole time. The reason I like BSG over others of it's types is the dark, gritty character development. The awesome looking battles are some of the series highlights, but not the point of watching the show.
If I just wanted to watch ships blow up, I'd log on to EVE or Freespace or Nexus or Sins or something and watch a demo round or two ------

And forsake some good dramatic tension? Surely not. ------
