Doing some invention runs on a new bpc type. Got everything ready to go. But when I go to start the job, the Base Item dropdown won't find the base item I have sitting in the hangar. It's the T1 version of the module in question. Same exact way as I do it for other bpc's.
What gives? Are there certain modules that don't allow you to invent with a base item? Or ones that require a "secret" module that you don't know ahead of time?

Its all located at the place of the invention? Like a mobile lab if you dont use a station?

Yep. Right in the lab hangar. Same as I do with all other invention jobs.

Is the base item repackaged? I don't think assembled items can be used in the job.

There are sometimes bugs with the lab updating its contents, try relogging / waiting 5 minutes if you've recently put the item in.

Time is the only cure I found. As the asset window takes 5 minutes to update, so does the research mod. I found if I leave 1 unit of the item in the hanger(research mod) it is present if you add more and then can go strait to invention without delay.

This is indeed bugged sometimes. Just happened to me a couple days ago and logging / waiting did not help. I tried different things, but the way I solved it was by selecting the bpc for material research or somesuch, and then hitting cancel (or maybe it was hitting "ok" and let the system tell me it could not do such thing on a bpc). Once I did that, the invention base item dropdown worked properly once again.

or move the stuff to a new division in the lab and try it - that works for me. But for me the error is that it is not detecting the decryptors.
