I didn't have a pre order copy waiting for me 
I did use my head however and as soon as I got into work I reserved myself a copy at Argos of all places, I took a leisurely stroll up there and grabbed my copy 
Now IÆve got a looooong hour and 20mins of waiting at work before I can head home. My boss has left the office and my friends are sending me taunting video clips as they were sad enough to take the day off.
How long can I stick it out? I reckon 40mins max before I make a bid for freedom!

No EVE for me for a bit! GTA IV is just too much fun. Better than any other GTA game for me, as i wasn't that fond of the others.

Well after 1 day of pure GTA play time, i've done almost 38% of the game.
*first console since SNES and the controler was a little hard to get used to at first. (PS3)

gta 4 (ps3) is great! im having a ton of fun with single player so far. cant wait for my broke ass friends to sc*****up some cash and we can all play some multi player.
till then i walk alone down the cold streets of liberty city..

fter finaly playing it last night for a few hours i goto agree it sure is a loada fun (ps3). Already on my way home in a mo to break it out, sent the gf to her mates tonight so i can play more , Jacob im coming to save your rasta ass!

I do both ill have you know, i prefer the box carrying as it allows me to drink coke eat sweets chat and listen to music... and you know.. drop things so people have to return them..

I always liked to paly shooting games with a mosue, it doenst make sense to use a pad.
Sorta grew out of it, and now a pad seems like a child toy.

Why cant people have different opinions on what they like without being considered inferior in some way.
I haven't had a chance to play on it yet, but id much rather do any sort of driving with a controller than a keyboard anyway.
Saw my sister playing it and i love the characters tbh, considering i couldn't stand playing San Andreas.
Im angry atm, sue me.

Hey GTA IV fans (I might as well say 'hey everyone under the age of 40!'),
I always said I'd wait until GTA IV came out before I bought a PS3.
I'm ready. But I hear that the 40GB edition of the PS3 is not backwards compatible with PS2 games, but the 60GB edition IS. And as my PS2 is knackered through long-term-misuse-and-un-use, I need that backwards compatibility.
So two questions,
1) Is what I said about compatibility true, and therefore, do I need a 60GB PS3,
and
2) Is there a special edition GTA IV 60GB PS3? I've only seen special edition GTA IV 40GB PS3's.....

I'm actually a little disappointed...
The interface is kinda screwy. GPS routes can be hard to see. Camera angles/controls arn't all that. Helicopter control feels sloppy. Seems I can't connect to 5 out of 9 multiplayer games or so.
Other than all that, The rest of the game is amazing :D

Mouse and keyboard are certainly more precise and superior in many games that require many hot keys, but I prefer a good gamepad over a m/kb because for me it is more immersive. When I play on a pc I can't help but be reminded that I am actually just typing and clicking on things.

2)Nope, because they've stopped making the 60GB models, they are just distributing the PS3 40GB with GTA4. There isn't really anything special about them. We got them into our store and as far as we can tell, its just a PS3 with a fancy box.

damn right its epic! i only played a few hours yesterday after it arrived from amazon. (x360 version)
people goin on about how the drivin sucks, i think its awesome, i need to do more practice on the targeting system cuz im sure im missing sumthin, we will see.
oh and im yet to try multiplayer, has anyone?

Proves my point, Anyhow, I am not calling people with pads children,and i realize that racing is better with bad, but shooting ain't, the auto aim feature takes away the fun of head shots.

why is it called part 4? just because some earlier versions used the same engine?
or did someone in the PR department just think part eleventy would look stupid?
dont get me wrong, it will probably be a good game (again) but looking at some stuff i heard during the previews and whatnot i have this slight feeling they might be running out of ideas...
