dont get me wrong, it will probably be a good game (again) but looking at some stuff i heard during the previews and whatnot i have this slight feeling they might be running out of ideas...
well gta1
then gta2
then gta3, vice city and san andreas all used same engine
and now: gta4 shiny new engine, it is similar, you can tell its a gta. its just the story line is more... involved, and there is like a million times more detail.
as for missions i only played a tiny amount so far, but yea its chase this guy, kill him, so you can see what i mean when i say its similar, but its a sequel, what you expect?

(im still ****ed they censored the strip club private shows in the european version of san andreas in a way that made the game crash. oh, and we didnt get no kill frenzies -.-)
edit;
iirc there were some AI features that are being marketed as new while in fact theyre in the older games too. afaik they enable the player character to do stuff that only the pedestrians could do so far. ie leaning against walls/more random talking.
all nice and dandy but not if you go "ZOMG new and shiney".
im just a bit dissapointed because that seems like "low blows" for me. and all that for a game that shouldnt need it, because frankly, it used to be so good, it doesnt need anybody talking it prettier than it is.

I got this game and I think its very good. Driving about everywhere starts to get on my nerves but then I just get a cab now.

Well PC will have Multi, and if it doesn't it will be implemented by some moders like all the other versions.
The Only Mode i always bother to isntall is the Speed-o-meter. Its a shame they don't include it on the original version, doesnt see how youc an drive a car, and comparing them without knowing the speed you re travelling at.
Bare in mind, all previous titles took 6-8 months before they were availible on PC from console version. So it will be a while. Octobre

well i learned the hard way that, unlike gta:sa. you do not automatically get a parachute when u jump out of a chopper.....

I learned that too... but it is still so fun to do. Now I land my helicopters by slamming them directly into wherever I want to be then getting out.

i loved obsesivilly searching for those one or two missing cars to get the list complete . there was always that one vehicle you could hardly find . then halfway thru a mission you see one and yell because your soo close to finishing the mission but whens the next time youll see the school bus aaaaaaaaaaaaah!

After you get a pilots license. If you steal a plane before that your in for a rude awakening. I was playing it in front of my dad a few weeks back and I accidentaly fat fingered the enter/exit button while trying to avoid a harrier. He couldn't stop laughing from my quick trip to the ground. |
