Originally by: Brisi So what do you think would happen if people could train all 3 characters at once? Every single person in EVE would have a fighter character, an industrial character and a capital character. This would be bad, since nobody was forced to specialise and everybody could in theory do everything in a third of the time it would normally take.
The two extra slots you get is purely for trying out other race/bloodline combinations. In addition, they can be used as scouts, infiltrators, haulers (won't take more than a few hours to train for a hauler nowadays).
There are no other games out there where you can level multiple characters without paying for additional accounts, EVE is no different.
Like now nearly every single person in Eve is not doing that with multiple accounts. 2 spare slots are still useful for training some low sp specialized characters.

Cyno Alt/Empire Industrial. Saves having to clonejump back just to move some crap in empire to where it needs to be.
Amarr indy 1 doesnt take that long either. ----
Nothing is as it appears; nor is it anything else.

So whats the point of alts? Why is made that way?
Alts on the same account are useless except for posting crap on CAOD ... But nowdays everyone has 2+ accounts, so the alts are useful as scouts etc.
EVE Online: a cold, cruel world where (RL-)rich people replace their losses with GTCs sold to poor students who need to farm ISK to afford their play time ...

Originally by: Sharp Feather So yeah, Im training some big skills atm and I was like; yay while this character learn his MWD skills I will make a miner and mine while waiting... but wth, I cant learn stuff while the other character is learning other stuff.
So whats the point of alts? Why is made that way?
I really hate restraining freedom, Im a new player and I find this feature really lame.
PS: If you find my english silly then try to speak french as well as I speak english and then you can say stuff.
Je parles Francais et Anglais. So does that mean I can say you sound like a Californian?
On another note, I agree that if you're going to the trouble of making a second or third alt and can use them, that you should be able to train them all.
I can also understand how broken it would be if you could do this. Newer players wouldn't stand a chance.
I personally like the fact that this makes your planning of alts all the more tedious and that those who use alts (on the same acct.) will plan out their training accordingly.

Alt amnesty?
I'm 1 account only: Vyktor Abyss 41M SPs, Ryktor Abyss 1M SPs and Nyki 1M SPs.... Oh wait...bugger it wrong thread.
Tbh I almost never log the other 2 on and would get too confuzzled juggling extra accounts. I only log alts in for using their sell orders to shift more loot.

I been playiong for close to four years. Or should I say addicted? lol. I have always found that not being able to train each character simultanously to be annoying. Not to mention being able to run all 3 characters at the same time. As a result I consider the 2 sub characters a waste of programming. Because If you cant atleast train them together, then why havet them. I use 2 accounts on this game as appears to have been designed with that in mind. Which means I got 4 characters that are useless to me.

I use my same account second character to visit with friends in CAS and to spend some time in that corp chat, helping new players and basicly keeping things in line for a while.
Its like visiting your old job to see your good friends, and puttering around with the stuff there since you know it back to front and inside and out.

Alts are also useful for talking in forums.
It saves me endless annoyance from childish griefers who want to punish me ingame for unpopular opinions in forum.
This alt is three years old. Call me names, I won't care!

Here's my idea revisited, turn in both your alts on your account for the once in a lifetime shot at becoming jove. Small chance to transmute but removing both alts slots in the process. Many will try, many will fail, removing many many alts in the process.
Cut-off for transmutation roll would be one year long accounts to avoid blatant abuse.
Should/would/could have, HAVE you chav!
