Just target jamm or dampen their support ships and they will die through the hand of sentrys in seconds You dont need ships bigger than frigates for this job _____________________________________ Dead or Alive

Zombie Inc has at least made a name. There was a recent discussion about Atlar, that went a bit off limits. I was sent to that system by an agent. I saw the numbers of destroyed ships, but thought "hell, I'm driving a bs with mwds. It's surely only miner hold-ups and afk-indy ganking". I arrived at the gate and took a snoop around. Ok. Triple outlaws on my scanner. No probs really. One click on my mwd and I should be in warp allready. But then I looked at the info. "Zombies?! Ohhh noos. They surely tank some sentries or have found another way to web me."
I saw one 70km away from me and two 10km away from me. Assuming the sentries was back at 150km range, those 10km away from was prolly not placed there to scoop loot from the long ranger. I ended up warping to the mission bookmark (no problem really, one click on the mwd, and your're gone). Do the mission. Watching local and finding a lot of zombies around. So I ended up logging of there and logging on in the morning when the system was virtual empty. I didn't want to risk going straight into their web, when I knew what they were cabable to. And according to the long thread earlier on this forum, I was right :)
I switched to an less effective agent a bit away from molden heat, I can't be arsed to be ganked every day just because an agent sends me to Zombieland.
But I don't complain, I just avoid battle with experienced pvp'ers as much as I can.
Good job making a name!

Would you like to rethink that tactic ? Remembering that jamming/dampning is an agressive act and means your poor ickle frigate will be blown to hell and back by sentry guns.
You could do it with griffins and try to keep outta range of the sentries. - - - - - - - - -

they certainly keep us on our toes, makes the game that bit more interestin imo. I lost my scorp to em, tho not at a gate, was warpin round belts when i warped right on top of two of there scorps, knowing what would happen i began to lock as i alligned for warp, jammed one, and managed to warp to station, big mistake! next thing my scanner fills with names, and as far as i am aware, this is what i had on my ass, 2 or 3 scorps, a megathron, a tempest and an interceptor =) ripped me up in seconds, escaped with my pod mind. Was certainly the most eventful part of the evening for me. tought me a lesson, n thats what counts.

why part of the game is the unexcepted, and if you can do it then why not? i think it was stupid they were all banned from the game for YUL event its CCP's fault for letting it go on not their fault for being able to do it! how can it be considered an exploit if they are using legit equipment to carry it out even if they are ****ing people off.

You could do it with griffins and try to keep outta range of the sentries.
When Zombie start their attack, they already attract the full sentry aggression against their tank. That is the tactic. The bad thing other corp m8 of them can shout without been attacked by sentrys. The backside of the coin is that you can attack also without getting attacked from the sentrys. Of course only if they already tanking the sentrys. _____________________________________ Dead or Alive

"don't know zombie as i'm a noob, but fear of them, and their ilk is what makes this game interesting"
fear them? this is a game...
now if zombie abused the game in such a way as too say break your computer...sure then you have RL complications and i supose fear is resonable. but in a fake little world why possible would anyone "fear" anyone?
just remember why we have uber sentry guns now, Zombie thinks they can beat CCP but we will all just get squished by a **** jackboot to stop them. THey would do us a favor by quitting EVE all together...but they wont and lets just sit cback and wait for harser rules to be put in.

Fragm,
Just because it is in the game, does not make it fair play. That is _exactly_ why they have the exploit clause. It covers the points where the game mechanics can be manipulated to act in a way that was not intended. What is/was intended or not is of course hard to determine as a player, but I'm sure CCP do not enforce that rule excessively. The Yulai incident seemed to me a very good example of what that rule was there for. And that has nothing to do with whether it was Zombie or whoever doing it. Never had a runin with them. What they were doing in Atlar seems a bit more on the edge. The reality of what they are doing is making sentry guns hard on the small guys, but useless against big bad guys.
That though, is something CCP must debate within their own ranks. Personally I think it is a flaw as that enables a almost undetectable and unavoidable trap for the little guy in a system that was supposed to carry _some_ protection. If there was some cost to the likes of Zombie for doing it, that would change the scenario significantly in my view. Then they wouldn't do it to kill frigates, I would presume.
On another note, I am too baffled by the worshipping and praise of such actions. Especially by the victims. As long as the objective alone seems, and it does to me, to be to just kill anyone coming through, I cannot gather up any kind of respect for it. Let alone reason. Please feel free to correct me here, if I presume to much. It does not seem to me as if it takes bravery, ability og intelligence. Just the will and the financial ability. Again, correct me if I am wrong. It resembles a little kid getting beat up in the schoolyard by the big guys without the teachers spotting it - and then try to sweettalk them so it won't be him again the next time.
On an end note, before the Carebear Choir starts; I am _not_ advocating more safety here really - at most advocating more logic behind the safety measures installed.
And the logic behind this can be defended. But the ramifications of it is up to CCP to weigh out. But the "Don't complain if it's in the game"/"It is not an exploit if it is in the game" argument simply could not be allowed to stand. :) |

It's pretty safe once you've triggered the sentries, tanked the initial onslaught, and then sensor-damped them to virtually zero range.
The problem for anyone wishing to tackle them is this:
If you shoot their -4.9 and above players and they warp out, do the sentries switch to you?
How do you know which one is attracting the attention of the sentry guns?
It's tricky.
Bounty hunter corps may want to get on Chaos and experiment.

I have to agree with the following post for the most part. Sorry to say, but sentry tanking sounds like a lame ass way to get around the AI Concord so you can grief people. If you think about how this would apply to a "realistic" scenario, how likely is it that Concord would be stupid enough to fall for this crap if Concord was played by real players.
This is just wannabe badass griefers exploiting a design flaw.
No worship for you ya ****ers.

Yes, they were banned for the Yulai thing, NOT because a GM said them to stop, that only got them banned faster.
The thing is that you are supposed to lose your ship if you attack anyone in 1.0, which Zombie didn't, and as such it is classified as an exploit.
There have been more "Yulai" incidents however, so caution is to be advised, even after all these previous "incursions".

you don't get it do you?
I didn't say Zombies aren't pirate, hell it's even possible that they are better than m0o. Tho I never encountered any of the previous corps, I can still say the Jokers are the best pirates.
They don't just blow up ships, they do it with RP. They add some sense like you got killed for real. Hell, they even exit lonely vs 4 of us and manage to kill one before escaping.
Now to those who say I can't differency pirates, maybe it's true, but I wasn't talking about blowing up ships. I was talking about pirating and all of what it englobs. --------------------------

on a lark I petitioned the GMs about Vatos Loco's doing just that, sensor dampening. the GM said that they were tanking. I replied asking him how he knew thatąI _saw_ them dampening. He said that while he didn't investigate (after he said that they were tanking) but that is impossible to sensor dampen them so they have to be tanking and as such no investigation as required. Seriously I'd post the messages but the mods would just delete them...though they shouldn't lock the thread since Ortese said I could paraphrase.
So the GMs aren't even investigating exploit petitions anymore AND they assume that people can't exploit them anyways...LOL...time to fire some of those GMs I think. If I didn't do my job I'd get fired. If i told a customer something, and was wrong, and didn't investigate...well I'd be out the door
P.S. please donĘt delete the post, I paraphrased like I was told too.

Oh yeah I remember the last time we fought you guys. We went down to E02 with a fleet of 5-6 against 12-13 took out 3 battleships loosing one.
Then it was the B-vip insident we have a totall fleet of what 8 battleships we jump into B-vip from Egbinger. We attacked and what happends ohh no the local fills up now local says 32 instead of something like 18 and I bet some of them where "loged off" ?? at the gates ?? All you guys got then where 2 battleships the rest got out trough teamplay
Who was ganking who ?? just what I tought. Have a cookie!

- Zombie blockades BVIP, ganks a few people. - Victims complain in CA channels, and GW defense corps pull together a fleet to fight zombie. - Zombie alts see fleet coming, run away into egbinger (empire space). - CA fleet spends the next 5 hours blockading BVIP-9 and destroying lone trespassers. - CA fleet eventually dwindles as people log off - Once they have significant numerical superiority, Zombie comes back into BVIP and sets up another blockade. - Lather, rinse and repeat every single day for weeks.
Zombie is a pirate corp, not pvp corp. They don't like fighting, they like ambushing random people and stealing everything they own.
Sochin, if you were ever to go up against the odds 1 vs 1 or 1 vs 2 we would fight, but not when we wait for 2 hours slowly seeing the dots in CA closing in on a single spot with up to 30-40 pilots against us 5-8. We don't like to wait that long, and also we don't like fighting in lag or against whimps that will only win by overwhelming force rather than tactics. Anyway, your view on us as gankers is only the oppinion that has been on the forums, not our true passion that is to kill.
And about talking in local, we just don't normally.

we could blockade the entrance to curse for hours and hours cause CA didnt have the guts to come up and fight unless they had a 4:1 numbers and yes that trip to e02 and the casual fly down to GW when we felt like it :/ ą.. It became a bore at the end that ca just didnĘt put up a decent fight anymoore so we moove up to molden heath ą and then .. and well then the 15 pages thread started so you know the rest .. there is one ca corp that I respect for putting up a fun fight and was fun fighting with , probably the best fun I have had in this game was fighting them and that was RUS .. GF !
Even though I dont like CA this tactics I can only see as beeing benefitting to the CA.....all you ever did was prevent unwanted visitors into the CA therefore actually serving CA as pest controllers...... Not exacly the way to damage them.... odd ship here and there dont count really!!

Zombie guys STFU! That stupid answer that Oracle guy replyed here is not worth answering back to, he obviously doesnt have a clue, probably some new guy starting flames and smacktalking like the noob he is, sad imo. I respect most of CA and used to respect oracle, my minmatar brothers but with nonsense like that respect is lost very fast. We have fought u guys alot and for a long time and had lots of fun doing it and hopefully u guys have had fun also but this thread isnt about that and we never wanted to talk about that on the forums. So plz take your frustration somewhere else Oracle guy and hopefully you dont speak for your corp.
And respect to Fragm, alot more of ppl like u should play this game imo, it would make the game alot more fun. Happy hunting dead ppl

I'm sorry that isn't true. way back in my FND days I was ordered on several occations to camp that specific system past Egbinger BIV, EO2 that whole little empire tail pipe.
THe CA often engaged when they were out numbered. Hell, Skulls in a BB even came calling all alone. Of course they would eventually get a fleet and come break the camp, but they aren't gutless...

We have fought the Zombies on many different times, they are bloody good PVPers, and good guys. last time we mett my Tempest escaped, JUST.
They are sentry gun ganking because its the only way to pirate in this game, CCP have nerfed pirates due to security gains, and 0.0 pirating doesnt exist....
the few remaining pirates in the game have gained my respect more than most players, time for a job change methinks .

It's far from the only way You can still go out in belts in =< 0.4 space and hold people for ransom or simply kill them if you please. The former isn't gonna get you rich though, seeing as most people are mining there and as such drop crap loot, as opposed to trade routes that tend to pass by low sec gates every once in a while.
However, there can be good money in ransoming people, though the majority of people tend to decide to die over paying a fair price for staying alive
Sure, it's hard work and you can run for countless hours without seeing good prey, but it's really good fun when you do a good hold up and see the isk flow into your wallet
And you do loose more sec rating by gate camping in empire space as you of course kill a lot more... We really need a better way to increase sec rating with the very poor standing gains you get nowadays...
