Hey again- I wanted to know if there was a way to scan astroids, to preven them from being destroyed - I think there is a scanner, but dont know which one it is..
Also, is there a way you can 'tag' an astroid so your gang members know you have finished mining it and not to touch it... something...
thanks

a survey scanner can scan the astroids for you. But it can only tell how big it is.
Marking a astroid sounds like fiction, so most likely it cannot be done.

Hello Joe!
An asteroid will be destroyed once it is completely mined out. To check how much volume is left in the asteroid you can buy a Survey Scanner.
Once you have a Survey Scanner 1. Move close to the asteroid. 2. Lock the Asteroid and ensure it is your active target 3. Activate the Survey Scanner
A box will pop up telling you how much left the asteroid has in it before it goes boom!
Unfortunately there is not way to 'tag' an asteroid visibly. However, you can make a bookmark of an asteroid by right clicking it and selecting 'Keep location'. You can then copy the bookmark by holding shift and dragging it from your People and Places to your hanger floor in a station.
You can then open a trade window and hand them to your friends! After they warp to the location they can 'Approach' until they get to the asteroid.

perfect..
At least if I lock a asteroid, I tell the scanner which asteroid to check so I dont kill it..
Does it list as a percent or a number... like 25% left... or 200 units of titanium left.?? Joe Striker - SGSN |

It tells you the exsact amount of ore left. if it's 200, will say 200.
Also no one said this, but you need to be within 4KM's of the rock, the scanner will tell you the amount of ore in all rocks around you, if you hold your mouse over the name of the ore in the scan box the camera will move to look at the rock.
I do this to find and lock all the rocks I wish to mine at a certian time.
Best wishes Lyden
