go out into space with the caontainer in your cargohold, to try it out, go for instance near a moon or so
when stopped, right click the container and launch it (choose for self or corp) when its launched, right click it in space and anchor it (this will take about 60 secs I think) when anchored U can set the password -> launched for self : everybody who knows tha password can open it -> launched for corp : U will need the rights to launch for corp, talk to your BoD or superior in corp for this, in this case only corp members who know the password will be able to open it

if you are the first one then you only really need to set the password
you can enter the new password in the old password section too for fun but not needed

Edited by: sashja on 27/04/2004 21:35:16 well thx for the info so far guys.... but stilll 1 got level 1 anchor.... i go to 0.7 space [it was eust] i went to the first belt there dropped 1 of the conts i had anchored it worked all fine so far. i right mouse it and click new password... i type in all 3 of them. i press ok [not any msg] i warp away , i warp back and still no pass is needed to enter the container....
it is so weird really anthing i could have done wrong?! It is a giant secure container dunno if this matters.

No you're not doing anything wrong. It seems that sometimes two things happen either the password doesn't "take" or it remembers you for what seems like an abnormally long time and allows you to continue to open the can. Try resetting it once or twice, never put anything in the 'old password' section, when it tells you "NO" it can't change it because you haven't entered the correct password you know the password has been set. It's not elegant but it works and it saves you some piece of mind. ========================================

i thought you could allways open you OWN can without entering the pass try doing the same test, but let someone else (preferred not a corpmate) try to open the can (the common abbreviation is 'can' instead of 'cont' btw ) ----------------------------------------------- Watch my leet everchanging dynamic signature \o/ http://www.games-on.nl/~cu2moro/evesigphp/icon.php?blaat=.GIF |

Pretty sure you only have to set the password on you own can, don think you have ever enter the password again, easiest way to check is anchor and then get a freind to check the can. If they can get in it, then unanchor take the can back to the station repackage, assemble then set name and a password (current password is blank) take it out into space then try again.

thats because they probably anchord the can be4 the changes in anchoring took place..Be4 the changes u could anchor in 1.0 space.. and after the change u cant anchor in 0.8 space and above.. thats why they the sec. cans in 1.0 space has passes.. |

you can set the password anytime before you anchor, in the station, or whenever, but once you anchor the can you have to warp away, or gate so you can check the can's security......when you anchor it it "remembers" the password so you dont have to put int he password every time you open it, but everyone else does

you do have to enter your password after every session change (weel I have to at least), the only way to test out wether your password set is to jump to another system then back again.
