We will be back very soon. Beni is having some RL issues from what I understand. But fear not, I will come up with something. Look forward to this weekend, I will have something ready by then.

It's one vote per account, not alt.
One vote per account. And the account has to be older than 30 days when it casts its vote. |

I'm curious as to why it took an EvE community member to figure out that this was open instead of there being any announcements from CCP.
Eph.
It was my fault as I didn't notify them . Erring on the side of caution, I opened up the elections and me and the programmer, who coded the system, ran some tests to see if everything was working as intended (as things are known to be touched by Murphy once they hit the LIVE environment). It was working as intended, and subsequently I made the announcements and had people put up the MOTD and the news on the EVE O front site.
I hope I'm forgiven. |

I just voted for someone who looked like he had a fair grasp of what being in the CSM entailed and who roughly had thoughts that i would like to see discussed with CCP. This i did mostly by glancing over the candidate info posts in the CSM forum. I took care to vote for someone who wasn't aligned with one of the big powerblocks. They will probably get enough votes from their own allies anyway.
- I don't know any of the candidates well enough to vote on account of having an easy pipeline to get my issues presented to CCP. I might be more selective once i get actively involved with player politics and make some friends.
- I am not convinced a lot of the current candidates or the community realize just what the CSM can and can not do. Too many still seem to think they have an ability to sway the decission making process within CCP rather than just channel and direct the discussions between the devs and the players. That realization may require 1, maybe 2 terms of service to sink in. I may pick my candidates with more care by then.
- I did not abstain because i support the concept of the CSM and like to see it work. That means i would rather see someone voted in that disagrees with what CCP needs to discuss with us than that i see the body revoked due to lack of public support.

*cough* A part of me was tempted to vote for Eva Jobse after seeing her little video. Very brave of you to expose yourself in person to the depraved folks of the internet *cough* like me. Hehe - I hope you do well.
However the part that counts stayed loyal and voted for Niall (Hardin). Good luck all.

Originally by: Fredior Khan'Sebies If you go to the poll KNOWING that your candidate cannot mathematically win the election, you are disenfranchised. You simply know your vote is either wasted or not going to the candidate you really want (if you happen to vote for the next-best person).
You are not disenfranchised by knowledge - in this situation, your inability to cast a meaningful vote follows from the electoral system itself. If you accept an electoral system, you should be content to accept the consequences that go with it.
I would have liked to see more discussion about the system used, and I would have preferred to use the same type of system you went on to mention. Alas, a perfect voting system is a mathematical impossibility...
