Pros:
1) fewer trolls in other forums
2) fewer locked threads
3) great way for anyone angry about anything to vent

Cons:
1) kind of a waste of forums space
2) moderators would get bored
3) people might get offended
4) lack of substantive content

A lot of the "pros" rest on the assumption that trolls will gravitate towards the forums that are most easily trollable and least likely to result in thread locks/moderation. I also am not too concerned about people getting offended, since its sort of "buyer beware"...don't read unmoderated if you don't want to. Also the "lack of substantive content" doesn't seem to be a huge issue, many threads are posted each day that lack content and yet are unmoderated (not a problem IMO).

Depends how unmoderated - even 4chan bans some stuff. I don't expect CCP to be letting in CP, of course, but that just brings us back to the question of how moderated the "unmoderated" forum actually is.

It takes me about 10 seconds to post random crap and/or flame some 1. I already can read all the intesting posts i want on these forums unless the new section adds a hell of alot more i'll still have enough time to do that. Chances are tho there would just be less posts in the main part and i'll need to click on another link to look for more topics to reply in.
