I expected this to happen, just not so soon. GTA IV had something to do with it lately didn't it? IS it better looking on PS3 than 360?

The Ps3 version has a lower standard resolution but it scales and supports higher AA.
The 360 version has a higher standard resolution but isn't so good with the AA.
In MY opinion those aren't huge differences when you look at them like that, however, for many the higher resolution of the 360 version is wasted on account of them not having an HDMI output (only the Elite has HDMI)
I've also heard people claiming the 360 version has bad "popup" but I can't say i've noticed that during my play.
Personally I own the 360 version but only because the shop was out of PS3 copies.

Plus consoles are easier to pick up and play, admit it. I still like consoles even though PC is my first choice, consoles don't eat up free time like PC's. |

EvE is actually a game? I thought it was a forum and station interior simulator. Either way PS3+ linux = EvE?
Also I don't care how precise M/KB are for controls. A game pad is still more immersive. |

Sorry what did you just say? A game pad is more immersive? Right because people drive cars with gamepads, or fly aircraft or just move around. Game pads are certainly NOT more immersive then kb+m.

Well when it comes to flight or driving a joystick or steering wheel is of course the best choice. When I use M/KB I can't help but think "I'm just typing with a handful of letters and clicking". At least with a controller to go right you move something to the right instead of pressing D

Stop trying to backup your opinion with logic. You are comparing moving a small joystick 1/2" to the side with pressing a key on a keyboard, there is very little difference. You arent 'typing' a handful of letters, you are pressing an input on an input device, just like pressing X to to an action. You prefer a gamepad, fine, just dont try and justify it with really bad logic.

This makes no sense at all, why would anybody buy either of them? The PS3 has no games and all the half-decent games on the 360 make it to the PC eventually. |

Gave GTA4 a try, apart from being a bit let down by the hype, the performance of it on the PS3 was annoyingly lackluster.
I desire my gaming machines to have enough horsepower to run the games I want, not have it "just about" run it, and bog down into the single figure framerates when things get juicy.
From what I heard, the 360 gets better framerates. |

Dome how I don't tend to ever listen to reps from companies talking about their own products selling potential.
I'm going by how many consoles I see.
In my uni I only know two people with PS3's
Either were all MS followers or xbox is winning.
Wouldn't suprise me if the first one is true though.

I know at least 3 of my friends bought a PS3 recently because of GTA IV and Blue-ray winning the format war, and another one because of Gran Tourismo Prologue. I wouldn't be surprised if others felt the same.

I used to like consoles. Back in the day before computers had the horse power to do anything and everything consoles had a place. I used to play Golden Eye and Smash Brothers (Original one) on the N64 with my friends for hours all day long. Then I got a computer and I have hardly touched consoles since.
Sure, I got the Game Cube just so I could play Super Smash Brothers Melee with my friends, but now I see absolutely no reason to own a console any more. Blu-ray? HD-DVD? I'll buy a stand alone player thats cheaper and is a lot more reliable. We all know what happened with the PS2 and it's DVD player. I don't expect the PS3 to be any better there. You have to buy an attachment to get the Xbox to do that. Besides, I don't even own an HD-TV or monitor.
I just don't see the point because of how much consoles have gotten. If I where to ever consider a console it would be the Wii simply because of the price. The $300-$400 price tag on the PS3 and Xbox (Yes I know the price is coming down) I can upgrade my computer and it would blow every console out of the water performance wise, graphically and usability. If I want a console I want it to play games and thats it. I don't see a reason to pay for all the extra bloat.
Yeah ok, enough ranting. Consoles are great for what they used to bring but now they're just bloated overpriced "do it all" machines that fail at "doing it all". At least Nintendo still has the right idea, but its a shame their target audience is mainly kids and the "family" audience.
Ninja Edit: Forgot to mention that most titles on PS3 and Xbox are also on the PC which is even further reason not to own ether of these two consoles.

I used to use consoles a lot. But then I ran out of friends, and I've always found that computers did the single player thing a lot better. I also think they still do the online thing better.
Consoles do still win when you've got a bunch of friends hanging around though.

I'm not a fanboy. I just fail to understand going out and spending that much money on something thats not even half as powerful as my PC. Lets not forget that most console games these days are also on the PC, and if they arn't now they will be in a month or two. As far as exclusives they never really interest me.
