Ive spent approx 2000 GBP over the years and was wondering if i will get anything from CCP, i feel any one of the following isnt to much to ask for; - 1 months free subscripton - 100 million isk - 5 million skill points - 1 ship you can customise some attributes on, "Aaron's Modified Sleipnir" lol - Some kind of award or recognition its been great playing eve and id like to say well done to CCP for making eve.

Your award for being in EVE for 5 years is the skillpoints you have earned on that time. I think thats good enough. However I appreciate that the playerbase as a whole get a reward for the GAME turning 5 years old! CCP rewarding people directly by putting something in your hangar (not like the jove shuttle) specifically cause you played 5 years, as well as everything else, will cause a big outroar by those who don't get rewarded and even some who do. It's simply not worth it.

There are old dino's still playing EQ and UO, not to mention older games like Drakkar when it was on the genie ISP? dont remember..

caldicott Minmatar Vulnerant Omnes Ultima Necat	Posted - 2008.05.08 17:18:00 - [15] Edited by: caldicott on 08/05/2008 17:19:47 If CCP was to award gifts to the oldest characters in game then about 98% of them gifts would be given to LOOONG inactive accounts, if you've been playing for 5 years you should have figured out some way to make isk so wouldnt need the 100m isk you suggested, imo Aaron should have apporximately 70m SP so wouldnt need 5 more, you've payed for 60 months already, whats 1 more? not trying to make you feel bad but its not like you have done anything hard to have played 5 years, you havnt done anything overly tiring to achieve 5 tears of gameplay. But congratz anyway mate, hope to see a similar post to this from you in 5 years time

Ive spent approx 2000 GBP over the years... I had over 10 years on a text base online game and there are still people that started before me playing it right now and are at or over the 15 year mark. I also start playing it when you payed by the hour as they got a cut of what the ISP charged for your hourly rate. I shudder to think how much I spent on that game over the years. At the end, the price had climbed to such that I could pay for a year sub on 2 Eve accounts and 6 months on a WoW account and be paying about, or slightly less, than their premium service. And for anyone that might ask how could people pay so much for a text game, it was loaded with features, very deep mechanics, close interaction with GMs and overall a very mature and fun playerbase. And if you enjoyed RP you cannot beat text games, though that was never a huge draw for me other than just staying in character and not being an OOG asshat. That game is over 15 years old and is, I believe, the oldest pay MUD still running with the folding of a Japanese game several years back. There could be some small homebrews that are under the radar but it would be unlikely any have been running that long with an active player-base. I believe they moved to their own domain in 1997 which is when you set up a sub directly with their company (big ISP were doing unlimited hours for monthly subs and it was not profitable to keep their previous model) so for an active sub directly with the game company I know of several people that have had at least one account with them for 10-11 years. Obviously not many people stuck around, but we saw something special in eve, back while 99% of you were off doing something else, we were here. Many of you heard of the game through word of mouth or some adverts, maybe some write up on a game site. Not us, we happened to see the box on a store shelve, and took a chance. Who the heck was CCP, never heard of them back then, they werent know for thier awesome parties or anything. And certainly Simon & Shuster were not known to make awesome games, much less MMO's. And what was an MMO back then. They didn't have mass appeal, I certainly never played on before, not had anyone I had known. After picking up the game I was really upset because the game would not run on my Gateway. I had one of those low profile cases so can you imagine how difficult it was finding a new video card? Most would not have done that for a game they knew nothing about. We are the original eve risk takers. Respect your elders... *looks up. Grrr... Giddy up! MGMT ;)

I played from beta so really, my Eve gaming is older than 5, closer to 6. If I could have persuaded my local 'Game' store to have stocked the Eve game on day of release I would have been 5 3 days ago. And for some reason, I still have my original Eve disc. Oh and btw, I want nothing from CCP except their promise to try and actually fix the bugs that still plague this game. Less content more gameplay is the rule of thumb CCP Dwi Cymraig

retlaw	Posted - 2008.05.08 22:15:00 - [31] CCP should reward the characters who are owned by a single person for 5years(i.e. never traded or sold) with some thing better than a shuttle (if the shuttle was insta-warp it would be cool) if they are going to give out shuttles to all players. And my character is from beta and started 05-08-2003(actually 5 months earlier in beta)
