I would like to discuss an Idea for alliances and corps. Please discuss this with me without any unwanted rants and flames.
I don't want to post with my main to keep my alliance out of this. But we have good FC's and very dedicated to my alliance. I mean whole alliances depend on a good FC's... hell without a good FC's there wouldn't be any great wars won. My opinion on a good and trusted FC is nothing more than a good soldier in real life that get trusted and honored by his men. We don't live so far from that in EVE. The idea I would like to discuss is that I think good FC's could create their own corp and sell their service as Fc's and make good money out of it and reputation. I'm not a FC and probably never will be because I get so stressed when I'm in my ship fighting :) But I do trust my FC and do what he tells me and I think he deserves a good ISK for it. Getting paid for what you are good at, makes you want to be better and want to fight. We all know when things are down and you think all hope is gone, FC's can turn that around and win battles that others thought were impossible. A very valuable profession I would say. In real life companies hire people to lead their business and turn things around. No difference there. Honor them and pay them so they want to win your wars and lead your men. Morale is very important in EVE. If you FC's is winning great battles and is smart coming up with ways to win, should be paid in shares, ships or ISK. They give up if they are leading your men, loosing ships and money and get nothing in return. There should maybe be a forum thread for FC's to sell their service and other people to praise them.
What do you guys think? If you are a good FC and get paid by the alliance to do what you are good at. Wouldn't you do it hard to prove yourself so you would be wanted by other alliance or hired by them? Everyone does a better job for rewards. Discuss please.

is there really need for a FC in large battle when all you do is trying to activate guns that never fires? 
and in small gang warfare,knowing your men and what they can do is 80% of a FCs job imo..

As a FC myself, I don't do it for the glory, and definitely not the ISK. I do it for my men need a spearhead at the front. I do it because there has got to be someone at the helm leading the band of ****ers i fly with on the regular. I do it for the sake of doing it. And most importantly, I do it for the kills.
I FC when there are enemies need killing. I FC when there's a call to arm. I FC when my mates stand behind me at the ready. We fly together, we die together. A shared laughter is more than any medal or any amount of ISK you can give.

You are free to do so in your own corp.
As for hiring FC's, I consider it unwise since there is nothing equivalent in EVE to the old "deposit your wife and children".

As an FC myself I can concurr all the way, besides, hiring an FC will utterly fail because he doesn't know the people.
Unlike for instance military, no one in EVE is "trained" the same, I'm not talking skill here, I'm talking really trained at using something. Thus, it takes time for a FC to know who he is doing what with/to. Thus, hiring an exterior FC, would fail.
What COULD work, is like an FC Union, where FC's can come, outside of political standings and whatnot, and share ideas, experiences and just in general have a good time. That way FC's would get better through shared experience and ideas and it'd benefit the whole of EVE.
Not that I see it happening though

people who fc do it because they enjoy it, even if they won't admit it. Some do get burned out, loot won't change that.
Personally, I think the best reward is a harder fight, sadly, it's very tough to get those unless you play numbers games because most people in this game are so clueless as to how to actually fight.
I find it so hilarious that most FC's think their main job is to warp in, call targets, warp out. Most have no idea what any sort of strategy might play, others are very narrow minded as to what works.
The Greats aren't in it for reward, kill mails, or loot, they're in it for the same reason you play chess, to win.

i personaly belive it take's time for a FC to get the trust of the pilot's who fly with him/her
also FC isnt down to 1 dude
fleet for exsample they will have fleet comand channals cap fleet / suport / scout's intel all info get's relayed bck for the main fleet comander to asses and dictate the battle plan but with the hlp of his channel comand
roaming ive allways found best result's in a close tight nit group for roaming pvp with pilot's u know and trust your dictor Ew pilot's r v-important to tactic's also none more than the hunter scout's 2-3 spread across region looking for fck wit's
so it's more a combined effort with 1 controling voice a last say
the fc is only as good as his men and vise verser
chain only as strong as weakest link and all that
