Currently the game for noobs is intolerable. The noobs to get into EVE have to over come this massive skill learning curve that exists in EVE before they can compete with the longer playing players. This is bad the game is just too hard to get established into at the moment.
People say well if your a noob stay out of PVP..... and i say to them again and again. PVP is the only thing this game has going for it, the rest of the game is complete bore. Mining is absolute joke hmmm what else is there to do for noobs missions, mission running has no verity or real structure it all ways blow that rat up or carry the freight stuff to XX.
the devs are trying to bring the real fun to the noobs by bringing them a friendly PVP (factional warfare) but let face it that not what needs to be done.
missions really need to be made more enjoyable & add a bit more mini games and fun stuff to do in game. That will make the noobs want to invest there money and time in EVE until they have the skill to fight.
really what right does this game have to expect you to spend months getting beaten to a bloody pulp before you can even think to have fun.

Tbh, It doesn't sound like this game is for you. My advice is close your account and invest your entertainment dollars in a new game. ---- Train more. Whine less.

Eh, it is all a matter of perspective.
Personally I consider the PvP in this game uninspired and uninteresting. Thus I do other things, as do many other players.

Honestly, I don't think this game is for you. Try WoW, it's based on the philosophy you seem to propagate.
PvP pew pew is only a fraction of this game and as far as i'm concerned it could be even smaller.
Then again, that's just my opinion.

part of this game is wow. OHHHHH truth hurts. Atlest utill you get into 0.0 then this game comes into it own at least to a extent. But what i was saying is putting more things to do in the game in Empire to keep the carebears and the noobs entertained until they have the skills to go into 0.0 until there ready.
i also was talking about how noobs in this game have it really hard. This game is built on who has the most skills point wins, the noob does not have these points and is expected to wait months until they at least are able to defend them self's.
let me quote my friend here EVE player" he said i don't like Wow it's just a massive grind feast for skill points." then i pointed replied so you hate EVE too because it an even worse skill point grind then wow.
Now to stick the knife in and twist it/
Prove to me that this game is not another Wow.

Read this: Misconceptions about eve online
And for your info there are plenty of low skill players in 0.0 doing important jobs for their corps. Goonswarm is a good example.

I agree with the IGN post, the problem is not the SP grind so much as the fact that new players face a stiff learning curve in terms of learning the mechanics and tactics of EVE, its this, not the SP that is part of the exasperation that new players face when they try to PvP, since EVE is merciless when it comes to error. That's what a corp is for. A two week old character (or even a two DAY old character) can already tackle in a fleet and have something intersting and valuable to do. You really should get in a newbie oriented corp so someone can show you how useful you CAN be right out of the gate....

To each his own but once again you don't need a lot of skills to be useful in a small gang. You just need some friends that know what they're doing to help you get ramped up.
Get in a corp that knows how to train newbies <<== best advice

Heh. If you try to jump right out there and start PVPing in a cruiser with a week-old pilot, you are gonna get beaten down very regularly.
There are roles for new players. Gate scouts. Tackling. Forward recon. Remote booster. ECM / ECCM. The list goes on and on.
What the new player is _not_ going to be doing is being the "star" player, doing incredible things, beating great odds. You will lose ships. A lot. But thats part of learning.
The good thing is that with a good force commander that knows what he's doing, you can be used very effectively, even if you have crap skills - there's _always_ a gate that needs watching. Somebody has to be the point man on a logistics run.
Well, I've said my piece - wait, is that Veldspar over there? Woot! |

Yup, its being in the rigth corp to start you off. they will help get head round game mechanics.
yuo can do a lot with 800kSP, should have been round when you didnt get anything like that, then say its hard for noobs :)
New players got it easy these days :)

I definately agree this game has a very steep learning curve. There is a lot of info to crap in your first few days playing. After searching high and low, I decided to make this guide for the Rookies I should meet. It may not have everything, but I think it answers a lot of the basics.
I also agree that a Rookie Help is the worst place to ask for help. There is more spam in that single channel than the Barrens could dream of. But the Rookie Corp everyone starts in "can" be a good place for answers. A lot of players will maintain an Alt in the Rookie Corp, just so they can offer a hand when needed. If your Corp isn't helpful in that regard, then find one that is helpful.
Eve is an multiplayer game. You're not expected to know the answers, nor are you expected to learn them by yourself. This game has been around for years, and there are still a few seasoned veterans who aren't jaded and bloodthirsty, and are willing to teach the Rookies instead of just gank them and lol.
If you really can't find a way over the hump of the first few days, by any of these methods available, then maybe you should go back to NeoPets or whatever. It might be safer for everyone involved. =D
