Have to choose a drone spec, pls help!

Shemaul	Posted - 2008.05.10 21:36:00 - [1] I maxed all the common drone skills. Now i have to go for a spec (or 2 max). I will use them primary on pvp, just as defence from fast taklers. I was going for minmatar due to their max velocity, but i dunno if is this the good way to think about it. I just saw caldari and gallente spec have higher prices, so i guess if there is a connection to power of drones u can use related to theese skills. Any suggestion?

Minmatar: You want this for Warrior IIs, and maybe Valkarie IIs. Galanete: You want this for every tier of drones. Caldari: You want this for TII Sentry Drones. Amarr: I'm not really aware of any drones here better than their counterparts.

Berserkers are pretty good against plated omni-tanks(as the tank is usually 1-2xEANMII and 1xDCII), and pretty much any T2 ship except those belonging to the Amarr, so taking Minmatar drone spec up to IV is definitely worth it. I initially only trained Minmatar and Gallente drone spec, but a few weeks ago I got Caldari and Amarr specs as well, since kinetic and EM are more effective against certain pirate factions even if the drone's damage modifier isn't as high as that of Gallente drones. I'd say that Caldari and Amarr drones probably have the biggest overall drawbacks though, since Caldari drones are exceptionally sluggish, and EM damage is really only useful against Sansha and Blood Raiders.

Good for sieging some POS, I guess. I can think of practical uses for all the others. I'd say in order of general usefulness they go Caldari/Gallente/Minmatar/Amarr, the Gallente drones are actually pretty bad at everything but their high damage modifier makes up for it usually. I am partial to the Caldari drones because they have average to good speed / tracking and the second highest damage modifier making them good for general purposes. Racial Specialization skills are not needed for the sentry drones so don't worry about that. But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.
