Meds 1x Warp Distrupter II 1x Some weird named 10Min MWD 4x Phased Moun "Blah blahs" (Targeting Range Damp Scripts)
Lows Havent figured out what to put there so help me out. Please before you post I want advice from people who are actaully flying the Arazu properly not the ones who are flying Falcons or Rapiers or whatever and think they know what they are talking about.

I stopped flying my Arazu after the nerf, but IIRC, my fit was:
3x 250mm Rail, cloak 10mn MWD II, SB II, Phawed Muon Damps, WD II 3x OD II, CPR CPR II 2x Damp Rigs 4x Hammerhead II
I'd probably fit now: 3x 250mm Rail, cloak 10mn MWD II, SB II, Phawed Muon Damps, WD II 3x OD II, CPR CPR II 2x Polycarb 4x Hammerhead II
Well, I'm lying. I'd probably fit TD's or tons of WD's to my Arazu.

Arazu's still need to maintain range, take a while to kill, aren't good at solo-gate camping in 0.0, and are best paired with a buddy.
Still, the idea is to be fast enough to keep larger ships at range, stop them from leaving and kill them slowly. Unless you are in gang or have snakes, don't take on dps intys or HACs unless you know you can stop them from getting into they're reduced optimal. You simply don't have a tank to speak of. However, 3 skilled damps still neuter almost any ships' range (that you would care to engage anyway). Have fun.
edit: since you need a 3% pg implant anyways, go for a t2 mwd. Gives a decent boost and you still have cap sustainability for your charge duration.

2x 720mm Arty (4 less dps, same range, no cap), heavy missile launcher (2 less dps than another arty, plus hits not matter the tracking) Cov-ops cloak
mids: 10mn MWD 2, 2x warp disruptor IIs + 3 best named damps or 1x warp dis II and 4x damps (depending on if you're tackling for gang or just serving as bonus ewar)
lows: 4x cap power relay IIs
rigs: 2x auxiliary thrusters (replace with Polycarbs if you have a deep wallet)
perma runs everything and works quite well.
For best results, bring a rapier and/or falcon along ^_^ |

Gang-Setup: High: 2x 150mm Rail II, Cloak, Recon Launcher Med: 10MN MWD II, Warp Disruptor II, 3x Phased Muon Damp, LSE II Low: 2x OD II, 1x Nano II, 1x CPR II Rigs: whatever Drones: 8x Warrior II
Works pretty good with Scan Res Scripts if there's a Falcon in the gang too, not meant to deal damage. It's a freakin EW-Cruiser at last.
Solo-Ratting-Killer: High: 3x 250mm Rail II, Cloak Med: 10MN MWD II, Warp Disruptor II, 3x Phased Muon II, LSE II Low: 2x MagStab II, PDU II, CPR II Rigs: whatever Drones: 4x Valkyre II
Can kill Belt-Ratters in 0.0, if they're allready in action with a triple BS-spawn. The 3 Damps cut a BS down to < 30km easily. Just scram and damp them from 25-30km... add some damage with AntiMatter loaded and you'll do fine. Notice: can get tricky to evade gate-camps, as it's not the fastest. |

I would put at least 1 x MFS in low. Probably a CPR for cap Who's the rudest of them all! |

Hammerhead II x4 ------------ Kinda fun to fly, works pretty well but with the 200 DPS you can't take on the really big stuff. Basically for busting ratters in hostile territory when they've already got rats on them. Turn off the MWD and everything runs for ever, with uranium I get my optimal to a bit above 40km, which is just enough as the warp disruptor works at 43,2 (no, I don't have Recon ships at V yet). Damp the crap out of your ratting target, if it's a Raven or something he won't be able to target above 30km or something like that so it's all kinda safe flying if you do it right.![Smile](/images/icon_smile.gif)

I agree with Mr Friendly and Lafe. First don't fly it untill you got lvl 4 and certainly go for lvl 5.
Also you do need some speed, towards 2 or something, casue doing 1.x, like under 1.5 is dangerous if you don't pick the target well (if you don't pick the target well it's dangerous all the time but you know what I mean).
cloak, 3*rails mwd II, ws II, 3 damps, se speed/cap/mfs If you can run it reasonably without needing a cap module speed*mfs valks II .
I need isk! Accepting donations :) |

When i fancy flying in a gang or solo i take a real ship.

Med MWD II 3x Phased Muon Faint warp Disruptor Med cap booster II
Low 3x OD II Nano II

Drones I prefer 4 Valkyrie II, as I think they are punching the incoming drones better then 5 warrior II
Achtung! This is not a solopwn fit, its a roaming gang assist fit.
Enjoy it

Edited by: Hannobaal on 07/07/2008 19:26:18 Why do people fit full guns on the Arazu instead of using the launcher slot? To hit with high damage ammo you need to get close enough to where a lot of targets will still be able to target you, and if you're using ammo that lets you reach out to 35+ km, then heavy missiles will have better dps.

This is from memory so please hold the flames, but generally i'll setup my Arazu in a support role:
Covops Cloak Recon Probe Launcher Cyno Gen
10mn MWD II 24k Scram 4x Phased Muons
1600mm RT Plate EANM II 2x Reactive Plating II
2x Inverted Signal Field Proj Rigs
3x Hammerhead II 2x Hobgoblin II
Let other people do the damage, the Arazu is really a support ship, if you want to hurt something get a Lachesis.
Needs Recon V, so if you don't have ityou'll be dropping resists + shrinking plates, and adding CPU IIs.
EDIT: Typos

I have to agree, of all the skills you might train to lvl 5 (HAC, CS, HIC etc) Recon is the only one that is needed as opposed to just nice to have.

I did... you have no kills in recon ships. Indeed, you have no substantial kills in any ships at all, and a spate of losses more expensive than your kills, all badly T1 fit. Why you draw attention to the fact that you dont have any combat experience is beyond me, though.
Trust Sokratesz, and dont try to PVP in ships with skill level 3. Recon 5 is superb, but you can /get away/ with 4. Obviously in force recons this will limit your fittings. _______________________________________________ Mercenary Forces |
