Before the rumors start and the speculation hits CAOD here it is from my own fingers.
Hearts, minds, passions and love all wrapped up into one game, a community of individuals joined in the singular purpose of forging their way into the future. Wars on a scale that dwarf any other game in existence are common place here in EVE. Alliances forming a population, which rivals the population count of many towns and cities, lead by every day people from all around the world, dominate vast tracts of space. This is EVE.
Since joining EVE, I was named Godparent, I have started and resigned from 4 jobs, I have returned to college 2 times, I have met the girl of my dreams, and I have met some great people from distant countries. We each play EVE for many different reasons, some to dominate in PVP, others to dominate in business, a few for the political intrigue and scandal, and some play for the camaraderie and brotherhood. I play for the latter of those. I play because of my friends and the crazy times we share together.
Looking back I see a long line of events and people who have shaped and formed what that face of EVE is today. Amazingly enough I find myself now involved in those events playing a part in this grand play sharing memories and knowledge that spans almost half a decade.
IAC has been my home for over three and a half years. I have spent countless hours sailing the seas of our drunken space and countless more hours leading this special drunken brotherhood. The monumental challenges IAC has faced and the overwhelming odds we have survived, make me proud to say that I have served as a leader and friend for so long. I am prouder yet of those of you who have stayed loyal and true to their drunken selves and maintained a diligent and careful watch over this brotherhood of pilots.
As is the way of life things must change. Change is the process by which we grow and learn, change is the rugged well trod path to the future, and change is the step that I as a pilot and as a person must go through.
Over the last several months even as far back as the end of last year I was avoiding a change in my personal life that I see now as unavoidable. I love IAC, I love this mistress we call EVE, I love these so much that I have become absorbed by the game, the friends, the camaraderie, the intrigue, and the conflict. I see myself more and more withdrawing from things that must be dealt with in my personal life and focusing more on issues that must be 'sorted out' in EVE.
Change is the thing that I have been avoiding.
I look at IAC now and the IAC of the past. Of course the IAC of the past is the shining golden picture of glory and drunken revelry which, as a leader, I hope you look back to see that your time in IAC is much the same. For me, I see an IAC of hope and promise, one where the possibilities are endless. I see an IAC that is strong and vibrant, one that has survived the tests of fire and turmoil.
We have a strong leader who is dedicated, loyal, and intelligent. We have an executive body that is active and involved. We have a growing capital fleet that is becoming something more then a drunken mob. We have several young and skilled FCs who are growing and learning the ropes. Finally we have you, the pilots of IAC who are maintaining the drunken spirit. Never forget, the bond you share with your fellow pilots is unbreakable only so long as you never lose faith in each other. When times get hard your bond and your friendship matter more then any chunk of space or any ship or pos. Your bonds with one another are what this alliance is.

This is Thundirr, IAC Fleet Admiral, announcing his retirement from active duty. I will be resigning my active Executive position and handing over all IAC assets currently in my hangers. Control of the IAC dread program will be handed over to Aaron Min, duties and responsibilities with regards to the Fleet Admiral position will undoubtedly be sorted in due time. I will only be logging in to change skills for the next month or so while my accounts expire.
I will stay in IAC until EVE goes under or MINC for some bizarre reason decides to leave. My RL needs some change and to accomplish this I must put EVE where it belongs, which is on hold. I can no longer avoid the change that I have been trying to ignore.
Remember IAC is in your hearts and in your minds. No matter the odds, no matter the place, IAC is the drunken bond we all share.
This is Thundirr Signing off.
Thundirr out.

One of the few guys I had alot of respect for in IAC. Always respectful towards your enemies and always remembered overall that Eve is a game. Gonna be a big loss for IAC ;p

Peace out Thunderwear. You've been a pleasure to fly against. And here's hoping that whatever r/l is throwing at ya is pleasant and you enjoy success and fun in that endeavor.
P.S. You'll be back. They always come back.

Did you even read the post? He is stepping down as Fleet Admiral, staying with IAC, and just becoming less active due to RL issues. My god that level of ignorance is just astounding.
I know of no-one who has put so much blood, sweat and tears into IAC for such a long time (except maybe Isayo). Thundirr will always have my endless respect for that, best of luck with RL man.

Reading that, it sounds like some time away from EVE to focus on RL and get some perspective will do you good.
I used to be playing / thinking about EVE all the time and it's not healthy and can be quite damaging to your personal life and your career. The NEW M.Corp Data Hub - Check it out!

Was always a pleasure to fly with you whilst in IAC and also against you as of late.
Those young FC's have a big challenge ahead now, atleast you are not leaving the game and you can still pass your knowledge to them when needed.

Farewell Thundirr!
I will never forget the times we spent in #IACF discussing the state of affairs and making plans on defending FAT and 25s from the GBC.
You supported me when I was growing as an FC. You were always IAC's mentor. You were the person, hundreds of IAC pilots would follow anywhere on the map.
You are now leaving IAC with an incredibly hard choice for your replacement, if there can ever be one.
