Well I hope this is a good place to vent! I just spent the last 8 months training and doing missions so I could get into a Carrier only to find out that I need a Jump Drive as well. So to my surprise when I bought my Thanatos tadaaaa... no Jump Drives in system, I found one 5 jumps away and bought it. Now comes the fun part I can't get to the drive with the Carrier and I can't transport the jump drive (10,000 m3) either. So what possessed them to build Carriers in systems that don't offer Jump Drives in the system... I've spent time and over a Billion ISK on this only to have no way to use them. To say the least I'm not verry happy at this point.

Edited by: Sir Algorn on 14/05/2008 14:49:08 Well to start you have to have the Jump Drive Operation skill to get into the Carrier, but I couldn't find any info on how to use it. Another player told me I needed a Capital Jump Drive to jump. I have the fuel for it but I can't find any place to put it.
Now for the people that think I bought this character... you know where you can put that idea.... Just because I don't know how to use a ship I've never used before doesn't mean I bought the character or that I'm incompetent. Isn't this the place that we are supposed to come if we need help? Some people don't seem to think so and for them they can jump into space in the nude and freeze to death!!!!!

OK guys I'm looking for help... not for players that would like to blast my ship to hell. I not do PVP and I've learned about each ship I've used on my own so get of my back. There's a learning curve with every ship and even more of one when you do it your self...

We need to move to low sec. for better belts and to do some ice mining, the ship is ment to be cover for the miners while their working.

Edited by: Sir Algorn on 14/05/2008 15:30:31 Well the problem is that we only have 4 members I'm the only fighter and the only one that covers them while mining and salvaging. We're not ready for 0.0 but have tried .4 and the Carrier should be OK in that respect I'm not sure but I do know my Megathron gets beat up in low sec. covering them... I've lost 2 so far.
The only reason I have it in the first place is the other members of the corp. talked me into it. You have to understand we don't play every day and it's hard to get all of us on at the same time... we have to plan it all ahead of time being in different time zones. I've only been playing off and on for 2 years so compared to you guys I'm a newbie.

I'm just tired of lossing ships so they can mine and salvage what I blast... It all comes out of the corp funds but it's still a pain even more so becaust I've been poded both times so I have to get new implants.

So what ship do you sagest I use in a support roll? The Megathron is the biggest ship I've use up to now for support I tried a Hyperion and had to run like hell so I sold it.

Well I'll hold on to the Carrier for now and see if I can get more members. I'll just have to talk them out of low sec. for now until we have more members and some one that knows about PVP ops.

Well yes it did but I got my info ingame from people that I guess really didn't know what they were talking about, so that's my fault. But now that I have the ship I need to learn how to use it. I guess that when to started the game you had some insight from GOD and didn't need help from any one... good for you... I'm not GOD so I have to learn as I go.

Edited by: Sir Algorn on 14/05/2008 16:39:55 Hey the GOD thing was ment for Constance Harme I didn't mean all of you.
Thanks for the input guys most of you have been helpful most of all Bronson Hughes, being talked into a ship that I knew nothing about is my fault now I just have to learn how to use her. The test server sounds like a good place to start. The bad thing is I'm not big on PVP and it sounds like this ship is ment for large fleet operation in a PVP roll. I'm not ready for that yet but some day I will be, I just have to figure out how make an alliance with a larger corp so I can work with them on the best way to use the Carrier.

I didn't say I was ready for a Carrier... I was pushed into it by the members of the corp... I do a good job at what I know and from time to time I get my a** handed to me in battle. That's why I stay in high sec. But I let my comrades push me into a ship I'm not ready for so I'll make the best of it and learn how to best use her from this point on... that's all I can really do she's too big of an investment to just give up on. That's why I came to the forum so I can learn what to do with the ship.

I tried my hand at her and I know I'm not ready for her it will take me an other 8 months or so to get the skills I'll need and until then she'll stay were she is... now for the capital jump drive that will be gone tonight and I'll go back to high sec with my Megathron. I'll learn about the Carrier on the test server so when my skills are up to par I'll go get her... hopefully by then the corp will be biger and we'll have some allies to help us out.

Being in a small corp can be a good thing but... it's hard to learn new stuff if you don't try it this one bit me in the a** it won't happen again... well not with Capital ships anway

As for people locating me for an easy kill... I'm not in the station that the Carrier is in so at best they'll get to kill me in a shuttle with +3 implants. I've been poded so many time I have 4 sets of implants at my home station. Splat me on your ship no big deal... I use shuttles to run around in and get stuff for ships and to pick up ships so.... have fun.

I have a Megathron in high sec and that's were she'll stay, I lost one in high sec when I was new to the ship. A tech 2 frigate with tech 2 fittings suckered my into a fight, I lost the ship then he poded me. I don't fall for that any more cytomatrix so...
Lord WarATron sounds like a good idea. For now I'll stay in high sec and the Carrier will stay were she is until a later date.

Edited by: Sir Algorn on 14/05/2008 18:06:04 Ok what the f*** does that mean? I pay for the game I'm not paying money for a ship that's just dumb. Why do you think we mine... it boring to the max but it gives us the ISK to try new ships. So we (I) made a mistake with the Carrier it's still in our inventory and I'll learn how to use it.

I don't want to pay for two accounts so when I do start using the Carrier I'll have to have a corp member in a Falcon... Oh well...

Edited by: Sir Algorn on 14/05/2008 18:56:28 I was just asking because it will take me 4 to 8 months to train up the skills for a falcon because I only have Caldari Frigate leval 1, it would only take a month or so for the Gallente ships.

Thanks... I just don't do the PVP stuff. I was in a corp that did and I was fine running lvl 3 and 4 missions with them then they moved to 0 space and started a war with another corp. I lost the tech 2 Megathron I got through the corp got poded, so I left the corp.

Corect me if I'm wrong but isn't 0.0 space the lowest their is? As far as an alliance goes I have no idea how to work it out with another corp.
