I didn't see a thread dedicated to this show and I think it deserves it. I loved the graphic novels and so far have been really enjoying the show. I am a little dissapointed with the very end of last nights episode but I figured it was only a matter of time. For those of you that don't know what "The Walking Dead" is, it's a zombie apocalypse show on AMC. Currently airs on Sunday nights.
So far I have enjoyed the fact that they are not following the graphic novels to the letter. A lot of things are different so I won't know exactly what is going to happen. The core of the story is about how people would react and change if the world went to **** and it was all about survival of the fittest. A lot of it is phycho mumbo jumbo...some people trying to hang on to what life was like before the end and others adapting to survive at all costs.
Either way...right now The Walking Dead ranks #1 in my list of favorite shows and will likely stay there until it is over.

Yeah season 2 started last October. They had a several month "break" and the second half of season 2 started up again a few weeks ago. The episodes are available through Hulu and also through the AMC website as well if I am not mistaken.

I like the show, it is fun to watch. Some of the internal group conflict seems a bit forced at times, that's my only complaint about it. |

Season one was a test to see if it would be successful. Since it was AMC's blockbuster show they renewed for Season 2. When the season premier of Season 2 broke cable records for their target demographic they immediately signed for Season 3. With Season 2 almost over with 2 episodes to go I think I will be going through withdrawals untill Season 3 hits us likely this October.

Meh...I felt the same way in Season 1 but fret not because in Season 2 there is an even hotter chick that replaces her. My current gripe is what happened at the end of last nights episode...but I won't ruin it for anybody.

Love the show... as for product placement I would consider it very tame.
For anyone who has seen the show White Collar, that is a show built entirely around advertising Ford automobiles... every episode has 2 or 3 several seconds long shots of various Ford features  |

Try 28. And if I had to guess She is playing a 17 yo on the series With her older sister being almost 30 (they talk about the age gap on one of the episodes).
Edit: I was off on the age, she is actually around 28 but would have been 26 at the start of the series. |

We all say that now but I bet ya in a zombie apocalypse where our choices are severely limited by the walking dead, I can almost guarantee our expectations would lower dramatically if we were left with a decision one night of older sister or waxing one off in a dirty restroom. I'll agree with that. I don't care if the recently deceased is a family member or not, I'm putting a bullet through that head and burying the body BEFORE it turns. Same deal with her wanting to stay in the self destructing building, I'd be like 'later!'. |

I dont think they're going to be able to pull off the prison part of the story. I mean... It's pretty ****** up. Then again if following the books shane would have been dead long long ago. |

I found all my old comics for The Walking Dead. I only have up through #78 but it was good to read through them again. I am seeing a lot of stuff that, despite the fact that they have already broken some gruesome boundaries for cable TV, may not be doable in the show. Such as the prison.
SPOILER ALERT!!! IF YOU READ BELOW THIS LINE OF TEXT, YOU CAN'T BLAME ME!
I think the reason they didn't have Carl kill Shane in the show as a human is because they couldn't get away with letting a kid shoot a living person with a gun. So they have Rick kill Shane first with a knife and then let Carl kill Shane again as a zombie to get around it. Pretty clever, I loved it!

I have not read the books but that sounds interesting considering how emotional they portrayed Lori and Carl over Shane's death in last weeks episode.
Also everyone commenting about how the prison will be impossible to televise, yet clearly it is coming next season. Anyone able to comment on why they think it can't be shown without spoiling anything? |

Yeah...they are doing the prison next season for sure. I think some of the things from the comics that occur in the prison might be a bit much but I guess we will see. So far they have just been working around things. Like a kid (Carl) shooting a live person (Shane). In the comics Carl killed Shane outright. They worked around that in the show because they couldn't have a kid with a gun shooting a living person. I think they will do the same with the prison. Either way...I look forward to it. Just wish I didn't have to wait until October.

Not saying a child should ever see this show by any means...it is all about perception. Anyway...I read somewhere that they killed Shane the way they did specifically because they were restricted in letting a child shoot a living human.
Actually come to think of it, it might have been mentioned on "Talking Dead".
I will say that after the opening scene of the zombie child shot in the head, it certainly set the tone of the show.

I guess I just don't see the relevant difference between a child shooting an adult and an adult shooting an adult or an adult shooting a child. Never crossed my mind that one would be ok and the other not.
Anyways, LOVE the show. Can't wait until season 3 although the coming opening of MLB will help with the wait. :) |
