When the Empyrean Age testing on SiSi starts, will we have to drop corp roles and wait for 24 hours before being able to do anything but pirating, or will there be an easier way to join the militias?

Good question. I will try both joing with the corp, with unaffiliate characters and see what happen when I try to join with a character member of a corp.

as far as testing perhaps it could be joining up with an empire faction will be immediate. In real game the 24 hour rule seems fair enough

Basically you have two choices.
Join as an individual - Normal "Join corporation" rules apply. You can not join while having roles in corporation.
Join as a corporation - If you are the CEO you can enlist your entire corporation.
The answer to your question is: Yes, you will "have to drop corp roles and wait for 24 hours before being able to do anything but pirating".

As I have never left an alliance, I shall ask this; is there a 24 hour cooldown period before I can enlist my corporation for the testing? -----

Will there be a new mirror before the expansion test?

Look at the sticky, and then look at the calendar and then do some maths.
In short, you bet there will. -----

We usually announce a new mirror when it is in place, not before. But the information in the sticky previous poster is referring to is correct.

Nice edit there.
On the subject of new ships, the missing Amarr frigate and some new faction cruisers were mentioned last night during the Live Dev Blog. -----

Am i reading this right, in that if you are a 0.0 alliance player and wish to remain so then there is absolutely no way for you to participate in FW?
I understand trying to keep 0.0 alliances out of it, but I find it pretty sad that I won’t even be able to try it or go partake in it as a little break from large scale 0.0 warfare every now and then.
Before anyone says “piracy”, two words: drone regions. Can’t raise my security status = can’t pirate.
At the risk of sounding slightly bitter, I hope those NPC missions in FW have nice rewards, since it sounds like that’s the only part of it any alliance player is going to be able to access. -

Wrong. Can't raise sec = can't be a carebear pirate. But it's not like your drones are going to give a toss about you being -10. -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? |

lol I knew someone would say that, yeah I can't be a "carebear pirate" (as if that term might hurt my feelings or sense of e-honor or something)
In this game that we like to think of as a sandbox, my little sandcastle involves me going to and from empire quite a bit, regardless of what you think about that, it means another little piece of Eve remains inaccessible for me... just makeing my point, you don't have to like it.

This depends on how you see it. I suggest that you wait for more information on this and this is why I rather not answer this question.
I like to see it like this: - Just because you (or your alliance) are not in factional warfare doesn't mean you are totally isolated from it, just like the way corporations that are not in alliances are not totally isolated from Alliance warfare.
Please do not speculate on the implementation. Please read the dev blogs.

So in total for a corporation in an alliance it is 2x24 hours to join.
Going to be difficult to test FW this weekend for many of us I expect. Can you not run a script to auto-boot us from our corps?

If you want it that much, why not move to a different part of 0.0? It's not like there isn't enough room.

Since I'm guessing that if we answer this thread and the next one, we will soon be flooded with threads with questions like this. Therefore, I suggest that you all wait until it hits the test server and then, if you have any questions, please ask people on the server or here.
But if you have any questions related to testing, please continue asking.

How about releasing them? And I really hope, that you find a way for us alliance-players to take part in FW without having to create another Alt-char (or completly leaving 0.0)

Is there a logical reason why whole alliances aren't also allowed to join FW ? If you allow individual pilots and whole corps to join, why not alliances too ?

That's what my question was aimed at, it seems to be a little unfair to hand out rewards for testing specific new gameplay elements when you need to wait 24 hours before you can even start participating.

Rewards? No idea there were any - I was thinking along the lines of max player participation to 'test' the systems in place.

Quote: Secondly, as a measure to encourage people to push the envelope, we'll be keeping track of various statistics and so on over the course of the evening, totaling up scores and coming up with some winners in various categories. These will probably include most kills, biggest contribution to the war effort, best bug report filed, most bizarre bug found, most missions completed and so on. If you think you've got what it takes to have a shot at one of these titles, I fully encourage you to show up - we might just make it worth your while if you win.

Most people will not be able to participate in the testing as long as the patch is missing from the download page (windows premium in my case). Any comments from the devs when it might be available, only 5 hours till testing and I¦m getting worried :)
