Edited by: Lacart Nosco on 16/05/2008 12:11:52 I've been trying to find a relation of the aprox ammount that ships consume of Liquid ozone to use a jump bridge, but seems that i cant find it, can anyone help me plz??
I need an aproximate, but x ship size like:
Frigate: "aprox ammount fo Liquid ozone it will consume from the JB fuel" 10 units, 20 units??? Cruiser: ?? Battle cruiser: ?? Battleship: ?? Freighter/capital: ??

I think only ship-based jumps [Capitals, blackops, etc] are based on range of the jump.

I think only ship-based jumps [Capitals, blackops, etc] are based on range of the jump.
Correct. The only time range comes into play with a jump bridge is determining if the two systems are within the max jump bridge range. Actually using a jump bridge consumes fuel based only on the mass of the ship using it. Also, the fuel for a jump bridge is stored in the jump bridge itself, not the ship using it, so any non-capital ship can just warp to it and use it (assuming that it knows the password); no need to carry fuel with you.
As far as I know, every other type of player-based jump drive system calculates fuel consumption based on mass and range, not just mass. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

Don't hold me to this but I seem to remember being told that the fuel cost for using a bridge is Ship Mass/550,000.

You are all wrong until now. It is: ozone_needed=(ship_mass/1'000'000'000)*500*lightyears
You can easily proof this if you have access to jumpbridges by checking the LO left in the bridge before and after the jump. (let a friend check the 2nd value)Now apply the formula and you'll end up somewhere in the right region. For my Impel on a 3.27ly jump I ned 31 LO. the formula leads to 30.65 units (truncates to 31)
Hope you could stop spreading weird rumours about independance from distance!
