Well Let's see, a brief look at out history.
We had a previous season back in 2007 http://community.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=527572&page=1
Since then other spin offs up and happened and gone such as SWA-RM (which I'm in the process of devouring) and SWARTA (they left and formed their own corp).
I had to quit SWA-G(lory) shortly after the height of 2007 due to real life obligations and didn't recently sign back up until just recently.
On my return I was happy to see the channel was still occupied... except 100% of the people there are no longer in SWA, most tried to keep things together after I left but many moved onto to do bigger better and badder things. Some quit some still around some making names for themselves.
So after some rust busting, and a lot of begging and having much less tools and help than before I am restarting the SWA-PVP program.

Operation Hammerville
SWA 3/4/2012 Time 0000
Report Author: Gunnery Sargent Rick Galshin Location: M-OEE8 Cruisron 02: Medium Weight Patrol out for Combat Familiarization Commanding Officer : Capt Stellar Vix
Report
Round 1:
The patrol started as standard, this time from Vuorrassi, heading north into nullsec. The fleet consisted of a handful of frigates, a lonely Osprey and some tooled up battlecruisers, with Stellar Vix leading from her Ferox. Cassandra was nominated as scout and she led us through lowsec where we scared off a rifter and moved on towards the future battlefield.
The fleet was lined up ready on the gate into nullsec, gate guns watching solemnly over our mini-armada. The call came in from the scout "Two rifters on the gate". Moments later Stellar gave the kill order and the fleet jumped in and immediately grabbed the Rifters and started smashing them. A handful of bombers popped in and took a few easy drone kills before fleeing from the battle-thirsty SWA fleet.
Stellar disengaged the fleet fearing a bait trap, and the fleet escaped to a nearby celestial.
The heavies were sent back to check the damage, and sure enough more ships had turned up to feast. Engagements happened quickly. Two Hurricanes and a Vagabond were engaging the SWA heavies, with a swarm of drones in support. The SWA Drones had mostly been destroyed by the stealth bombers, and the lights were called in. A fortunate miscommunication resulted in the squishies jumping to the lowsec gate and having to watch as the heavies pulled out via the jump gate. SWA suffered losses, with Grim learnt a tough lesson when the gate wouldn't let him through thanks to his drones bombarding the enemy. Several frigates were popped before they escaped, but SWA made it out intact, with spare ships at the ready for round 2.
Kills: 2 Rifters, A handful of Tech 2 drones. Losses: Myrmidon, some rifters, a bunch of drones and whatever badass ship Draconaes was flying.
Round 2: Yes we went back.
Arriving into nullsec, local was busy, the gate was clear. The fleet jumped in and began warping to a nearby celestial when 2 hurricanes decloaked, grabbed the SWA heavies and started chipping away at them. The rest of the fleet began warping back to the heavies piecemeal, but ultimately were destroyed.
Kills: Several more Tech 2 drones. Losses: A handful of BCs, bunch of frigates, some more drones and a destroyer or two.
There was a lot to take in, but the fleet fought well, learnt some valuable lessons, and gained respect from our enemies.
Congratulations to the new pilots taking part on the Roam, and thank you to the more experienced players for making the fights a bit more balanced as well as sharing your experience and resources with us newer players who are still learning.

tl;dr
Newb corp like "player corp" without the corp restrictions, gets people into PVP. Even though they hang out in the newb corp all day, they do actually participate with the universe at large from time to time with a cadre of individuals who form the nucleus and invite other individuals on scheduled events much like a CTA for the 1337 Nullblocks.

Now this here is a bit of a short sighted observation Trying to run it military helps keeps the rooks organized and in line like using cat nip to try to herd a bunch of cats is not that entirely easy. It serves as a rallying point, increases morale, reduction in confusion and ultimately preconditions the rook for when they do leave the ranks of SWA and join a real military corp they won't be as unreliable
Also its a very excellent way to get them to start taking charge of themselves and other people the oldest rooks in the program are now beginning to help our newest members though the knowledge they learn. I have two considering in becoming FC's now
They are getting the idea that organization and team work does produce results and that we are killing much older players because of it
Either way its fun for the rooks and a break from pve'ing their minds to death and rage quitting when they get ganked.

You're obviously not an FC.
If you look at the battlefield like an FC does you'll start to get an apperciation for your enemeis, be able to read fleets like they're a book and see stuff happen before it all goes to hell.
I already tell the rooks before every fleet op that objective is to die. Bonus objective is dragging as many can down with us.
In this case fighting on terms takes an entirely new meaning. I know my fleets will never be on par with null fleets or on the same platue any time soon, this isnt the term I am talking about. The term I am talking about is who is doing most of the writing in that battle, who decides how the battle starts and who tries to dictate the flow of the entire fight. I got too fancy and broken midstride in this little deadly dance allowing the enemies control of that writing pen. What could have been a bloodied victory wound up in total defeat. I overestimated my rooks was one of my largest mistakes and having a nice hiccup in connection caused me to decloak and not warp :( which got me killed and out of commission and handed command to Draconis who was in the process of getting the fleet to land on top of me to take out the hurricane that was 4kms off by bow.
I knew the squadon we ran into didn't have a FC and I already knew we where caught in the early warning system which is why I didn't want to get the lights involved too quickly since most of them are anti-frigate fitted and we tried to kill as many drones as possible to give the frigates a chance or have the heavies get the attention first.
I know some of the best FCs in the game can orchestrate some masterful peices of work. Im just a novice writer and the only way to become successful is to go out and do it.

I have yet managed to get a capital hot dropped on my fleets for the month of operations we been performing. So far we operate anywhere from north west to east southish depends on how big the orange blobs ships killed by the last hour are for op day.
Rooks two weeks ago had a good look at a system being taken over after everyone gone home for the day and we ran into the cleanup crews. That was one hell of a face smashing we had then 12 hurricanes 1 talos and 2 assult frigates, we only downed the talos and one wolf, would have loved to gotten the crusader as well but the canes where to much for us and general retreat was called. I think only two ships got out of that mess of drones.
Think it was over in PNE3 area north of Lonetrek.

I don't understand why people are hating on this. Sure pilots are dying, but they're also learning and isn't that important?
Who cares if we're losing 15 frigates in an engagement ? We're learning how to PvP in a friendly environment that doesn't force us to adhere to specific fittings/ships. We can take what we want and figure out how it works. Maybe the fleet's effectiveness is dropped because of this, but we'll gain experience in whatever role we had for that specific engagement. |

Operation Graystone Report Author: Captain Stellar Vix Location: Geminate Region SWA: 3/18/2012 Time: 0001 Desron 03: Mixed Weight Patrol out for Combat Familiarization, 2 Battle cruisers 1 Cruiser, 10 Frigate Commanding Officer : Captain Stellar Vix
Watching the Naga Attack Battlecruiser roll off the assembly line I couldn't wait to get her out for a spin and had her customized for the operation before loading her into the SWA Sky Dancer, a re-purposed Orca serving as my mobile base of operations. From there I plotted the patrol route based on a few metrics of activity and set course
Today I had about 4 new rooks, 2 new ex-patriots, one ex-SWA and rest of the fleet was from my previous roams still learning. They all came in their usual bunch and hodge podge collection of ships, interesting though two of our pilots decided to try out the griffon to my liking as support target jammers
However as usual took about four hours to lasso up these herd of cats into one system and then we finally departed into the Geminiate region
One of the ex-patriot pilots volunteered while our tradesmen by day selected to be rear scout. I was Fleet Command again today as none of my Lieutenants showed up. None the less they where all eager except one to which had the gall to backtalk to me and ignore advice at his cost later on
The fleet was finally rounded up, pre-flights preformed and comms online and we shortly departed into null sec space
First hop into low sec was a bit lively on local so I order everyone off the gates and sweep the belt, The forward scout was top notch and found us a Drameil running a 2/10 plex. Frigates went in to antagonize the prey while the heavies sat outside guarding the entrance to the plex. I speed off to burnable distance to not only pick up drones but to put any target that warps directly to the gate a fist full of railgun charges.
The frigates inside reported that the Drameil ran off after engaging the squadron after failed attempts to get the ships to spread out. Re-affirming the order to stay in formation saved them from being picked off.
The hostile Dramiel then returns to the complex gate where I quickly locked him up and fired off a volley off before he got away again. Purposely leaving one of the abandoned e-war drones out I then ordered my rookies to get out the plex and start warping to me.
The gambit paid off the Drameil pilot warped 10 kms off my bow and started to pound away at my shields while I burned back to the rest of the fleet. The friendly tackler and griffon pilots first ones to show up and scared him off my tail after I got into half shields. The Dramiel did his best to get out of there and almost did as he was well far ways off and trying to get out of scramming range of the tacklers. I fired another volley at 110 kms off with the antimatter rounds and nailed him square on the head shredding his armor and hull in one blast.
A Congratulations given to the fleet on a successful kill without losses. Feeling confident we moved on
We traveled a good 10 jumps with no action until we where about to reach way point ALPHA, the site was picked for the large number of ships destroyed there the day before. Rear scout starts tallying 4 stealth ships behind us. Thinking they where an advanced patrol since I didn't get a good alliance/corp tag from rear scout I assumed they where EWPATs and ordered the fleet to push forward at best speed as I do not want my rookies dealing with a stealth bomber especially with no logistical support this far out. Four systems in and Scout jumped though and reported 25 in local and two Thannatos carriers on d-scan without star base structures listed I decided to 'skip' this system as quickly as possible
Turns out that wasn't quick enough. Appox 4 sabers, 1 bellcose, 1 Loki, 1 Onerious, 1 Stilletio where among the first ships of AAA to meet us. Scout who already jump ahead reported a similar sized fleet on the other side as well. Thus we just got caught in a pincer attack. I tried my best to direct the efforts the Onerios couldn't be dealt with our level of firepower and I ordered the jammers onto them. Unfortunately we only fitted Matari jammers this week Gallente was bottom of our lists. I ordered the rest of the fleet on the Loki in an attempt to match kill weight but with none of the jams working damage we dealt was quickly nullified and he stayed at full health then.
All but two frigates got out we lost several pods to the sabers mobile fields. I barely made it out myself in half armor on the pod. Over all out of 12 I think only four of us made it back to high sec without the travel express option.
Debreif basically came to the unanimous conclusion, we where just simply screwed in that system in that pincer attack which just seemed to be by accident as the four stealth pilots behind us was later found to been caught in the same trap that just wiped my fleet out. They fared slightly better with a loss of an unaffiliated falcon.
None the less the rookies had fun and some of the ex-patriots tried to sell me a bit higher on the FC competence level which I tried to reject but they insisted.
I have issued out only 1 derpy ribbon today, to myself for beating my scout though a gate > and no Micheal J Caboose medals so that's something. |

I think we got victimized in that last roam. The pounded us pretty hard that is the fastest I ever lost a mix weight fleet ever. Then it dawned on the rooks after they asked who in the heck was AAA, and I had to give them the spill about their involvment in the great war.
They where surprised we actually tried to take on such an enemy and how long we lasted.

Bumping in the hope that the faceless mass of SWA sees this thread and pays attention to corp chat once in a while.
More on topic:
These roams are a great tool, giving rookies their first taste of a tough fight where the odds are against you. Its in these situations that I see people freezing, forgetting to retarget, capping out, forgetting their drones and not paying attention to the space around them. With just a little experience, the rookie pilots on our fleets are insuring themselves against poor decision making when the worst comes to the worst.
Additionally, everyone gets a good idea of fitting practices, fleet tactics and teamwork, as well as being able to see null without being the only target for the big bad SOV-holders to pod.
You can only turn your brainpower into firepower... if your head ain't on fire.

Have been asked to update the thread with some of the minor operations I've been involved with.
Just to satisfy the forum trolls, yes the following are a lot smaller scale than a typical operation, but they all show a flavour of what the SWA combat division gets up to.
Operation Miner Detail
Word comes in on Corp chat that somebody is stealing cans of ore from rookie miners in Uitra (an SWA starter system). Myself and a nearby missioner respond and head on down to Uitra in disposable ships to take a look.
Sure enough I recognise Soulreaper27 in a thorax, known for suicide ganking frigates in the system. One of our Rookies, Trent Hakaari heads out to the belt and begins mining into a can in his cheap-fit Caracal, whilst I get details from the victims in system. We positively ID the target, and get a scan on his ship, it looks like a throwaway DPS boat, not worth trying to fight at the possible cost of two cruisers (even both insured).
Cue a bit of talking in PM with the target, and he agrees to an arranged fight. The rupture is downgraded slightly and the caracal lines up in a safe spot after Soulreaper again steals the ore. Thorax shows up, tooling along at an ungodly speed for an armour-tank, and we trade cans.
Moments later, our friend Soulreaper is tied down by the unexpected appearance of a second cruiser (whom he stole a can of ore from), with drones crawling over his ship and slowly falling out of blaster range of the aggressing rupture.
The Thorax flounders and Trent Hakaari moves in closer, to maintain a solid point on the target, the damage continues to rain in and we see the first sign of trouble. Our friend soulreaper has called in a multi-million SP drake pilot to rescue him. We chew right through the last of soulreaper's hull and the caracal warps out whilst I hold the drake's attention.
Nothing further to do, I attempt to destroy my drones, and offer a cheap ransom payment in local which is turned down. The drake holding the cheap-fit ruppy waiting for a refitted thorax to return... A minute passes and sure enough Soulreaper brings out an anti-frigate/suicide ganking fit Thorax and Removes the last of my ruppy's armour.
Battle over, the drake scoops up his friend's loot (very lucky with almost 100% drop rate).
Final results, One solid kill for SWA pilots Trent Hakaani and Rick Galshin, 21 million isk "rookie harassing Thorax" destroyed, one 13 million isk "poorly fit rupture" lost.
Killmails: http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/killmail.php?id=15568961 http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/killmail.php?id=15568914
Some lessons learnt about target selection and maintaing appropriate ranges. Overall we were happy with the result considering the huge skillpoint gap involved, and the lack of appropriate fitted ships in the area.
Just another day in the State War Academy.

Another small-scale SWA training op
Operation Missioner Improbable
A certain pilot by the name of Exhum4n had been sighted repeatedly harassing rookie SWA and eve uni mission runners in Perimeter. An Ex-SWA rookie by the name of Dazzork Anneto asked to help bring him down following the loss of an SWA missioning drake that got overconfident
The stage was set, our Ex-SWA rookie set up a mission in Perimeter and an apparent "mission-specific loot can" was dropped next to a mission industrial wreck. Sure enough, the target scans down and sees a sniper-fit "apparently PvE" Omen running missions, grabs the mission loot and gets shot at. He pulls out his Caldari Navy Hookbill and warps in to find two cruisers waiting
Before he knows what's happening, he's dead in the water, double webbed, scrammed, 6 drones and two lots of DPS pouring in on him. 12 volleys later, one rookie-harassing Faction Frigate wrecked, one rookie-harasser ruined into joining a new corp for help. Dazzork walks away with his first real PvP kill and Perimeter is safer for our rookie missioners a week or so

So - My turn.
Now, first off - if you check my profile, you'll find I'm over three years old. So in what manner am I a n00b..? Very nearly three years off-line. Life happens.
So, one of my alts runs with the fleet that took out the Talos - I was (am) PvP-clueless, but Stellar was extremely patient, and I was getting the general idea fairly quick, until we hit a meeting engagement at a gate. We'd been detected, and shadowed, but the trailing scout counter-detected our follower, and Stellar called us to hold on the gate, instead of busting through. Good call.
On the other side, there was a qucik-n-dirty ambush set up. They weren't expecting Stellar to flush us all through the gate at once. Immediate pandemonium! Target-rich environment, and our ambushers had a hard time picking the right ones. I got picked out immediately, and soaked up two full volleys of heavy artillery that would have been far more profitably aimed at one of our heavies. Pop! I find myself in the midst of my first fleet battle in a pod, surrounded by fireworks.
About this time, or very nearly, a fleet of 'Canes came streaming through the gate behind us, slamming that door on us - hard. Fleet chat remains surprisingly disciplined, and I get a decent snapshot of what's happening - Talos down, but our fleet masively outgunned and burning fast. I pop my pod back through the gate, looking to get away before enough frigates burn that targetting pods becomes a reasonable act - And fnd an anti-warp field waiting me.
Nowhere to go, I pop back through the gate right into the middle of the fight. The first thing I see is a red pod, and I know things aren't entirely one-sided. Communications discipline is largely holding, and an escape route is broadcast to the fleet - those of us still in space. Back I go through the 'cane gate, and manage to avoid getting bubbled or scrammed; I lit out for safety like a scalded cat.
Along the way, I spot two other Fleet pods, making the same dash. All three of us break into Empire space at the same time, and begin finding our way back home. Stellar is trying to regroup the fleet for a re-engagement, but things (and people) are too scattered. Along the way home, a Thrasher spots our pods fleeing homeward, and tries to nail us in Empire space - trying to lock us at gates, following us through several systems, slowly losing ground - finally giving up and returning to whatever he was up to before he scented blood.
At the end of the day, we lost the numbers game, but came damn near to winning the ISK game. A good run, and a pretty respectable result, considering the numbers of rookies and raw n00bs in the fleet.
Thanks, Stellar! |

Good that you guys pvp with new players, really awesome. +1
On a side not, depending on the null sec region always expect 2 and +fleets/gangs to come after you once you're spotted, most often they will not engage unless they're have superior numbers with a lot of logistics. There are a few guys out there that don't mind to loose ships no matter if it's versus newbies or bitter vets, they will engage you in equal/less numbers for the fun of the fight.
I've seen this a couple of times and it's really awesome but also really rare.

Operation: Point Break (Failure)
Report on SWA channel of more ore thieves hanging around the SWA rookie systems, the nearest 4 units respond and a small squad is quickly assembled in system. The target is ID'd to be a sigil, and visual recon indicates an autocannon fit. The target is well-prepared in a battle Sigil. One of the more competent rookies in an Omen is chosen to engage first, primarily because he is recovering from an obsession with capacitor stability, and would learn a lot from fighting a ship with neuts.
The sigil pilot obliges and flips a can at which point the Omen steals, with reinforcements consisting of 2 Rifters and a Rupture waiting off grid. The sigil pilot engages our Omen at which point the Rupture warps in, followed closely by the Rifters.
Rupture begins RRing the Omen whilst one rifter pilot learns a tough lesson about concord and aggression mechanics.
Casualty: One Rifter to Concord.
The sigil pilot is making steam for the station whilst heavily neuting the Omen. He makes some headway into shields before the ruppy resumes the RR work, but quite smartly refuses to engage the logi-fit cruiser who was standing by with a second point and those nice cap-independent autocannons.
The fight proceeds slowly, with the omen pilot pulsing various mods and his cap booster but slowly managing to lose range on the sigil. The Omen doesn't pay enough attention to his drones and loses all but one. The neuts continue pulsing and our Omen pilot reports he is running dry on cap charges.
Soon enough the sigil got out of scram range and docked up.
Some important lessons were learnt and the Sigil pilot fought well to escape.
Key Lessons learnt: - Watch your drones carefully - Always be aware of who you can and can't attack in highsec - Control range at all costs, if an enemy gets too close or too far, you lose control of the fight. - Focus capacitor use on essential modules only (Our Omen pilot was expending cap booster charges constantly to use his Afterburner, and non-required armour tank mods) - Never underestimate an enemy - Always have friends nearby, even if they aren't directly involved
An enjoyable fight, and congratulations to the Sigil pilot on a commendable escape.

I have a feeling that rook was going to learn the hard way. Good job showing him an important lesson without casualty.
I hope he doesn't have to learn to much more when getting told about certain aspects.

Indeed and I am really introducing the rooks to pvp as people pulling the trigger instead of being shot at. They all claim its a world of difference being the one trying to do the killing and they don't feel as powerless and are having fun.
I had one rookie quit though due to heart conditions I hope he gets well :( I didn't mean to kill anyone in real life.

Operation Persian Shade Report Author: Commander Stellar Vix Location: Vale of the Silent and Tribute Regions SWA: 3/31/2012 Time: 0001 Battron 01: Heavyweight Patrol out for Combat Familiarization, 3 Battleships 1 Battle-cruiser 3 Cruisers 4 Destroyers 12 Frigates Commanding Officer : Commander Stellar Vix
Oh how long its been since I last stepped aboard command of a battleship. Crew wasn't too happy about it as I'm rather notorious for losing the damn things but I joined the lead formation in a wing of scorpions. My crew was even less pleased to know my electronic's skill aren't on top of the line either.
Fleet muster was called and we had 18 volunteers in various ships to escort the battleship and we slowly made our way into Tribute.
Three jumps into the patrol and my crew decides to pull a quick one and slam on the emergency warp. The second in charge took the fleet to the system safe. Once I got the Xo replaced on my bridge and got my ship back to the gate there was a small squadron of thrashers and a black bird. We stared each other down and the squadron considered that if they where to engage me along at the gate would have been an error on their part with my fleet en-route to me and gate guns pointed at them. The thrasher squadron jumps though and my fleet lands.
I ordered a 10 second delay before sending the scout through. Scout reports lighter numbers than us on the other side and I order the jump. What we walked into was beyond confusing but early analyses suggest it was a fight in progress between two sides and we just happened to be the third. We engaged several ships in the gate camp and bubbles where deployed all over the place I told the squadron to reform on the gate and be ready to quick exit.
Tech 3 cruisers, interceptors, stealth bombers, the list goes on there seemed to be total chaos on the hostiles sides. Half of the thrasher squadron and their black bird was sandwiched in between our fleet and the defenders cadre of slowly pouring in ships.
I was calling primaries and secondary and changing targets as quickly as the flow of the battle. My fleet couldn't get points on all of them and we lost possible kills on an Ishtar drake and Atron. All was doing quite well until an oracle pilot warp 150kms off gate and starts picking off my escorts. I called retreat because from our current angle and mass location of all of our fleet being mostly in a bubble itself there was not a viable warp solution with a bubble another 100kms behind the oracle. To avoid haphazard situation I called for a general retreat and remained in system long as possible soaking up damage in the scorpion. My wing scorpion pilot I couldn't repair fast enough and didn't know he was still shooting a pod and was locked from using the gate. I watched his ship go down and regrettably jumped though wishing I could have done more to save him. The Ishtar that we scared off earlier was on the gate picking off stragglers and began engaging my fleet. I ordered an attack for our heavies but the lights joined in and got blapped by the sentry turrets at that point I ordered everyone off the gate. The Ishtar didn't pursue.
We took the aggression cool down time to regroup and rethink the events and concluded that the 'meow' system was not going to be a pretty walk back into and without any sniper kits with use today the oracle would continue to prove a serious problem for the fleet. we only suffered mostly light losses weight wise and we still had two battleships in full tank ready to go. So the escort pilots got second ships and we patrolled vale of the silent.
This place was very much its name sake. The largest fleet we ran into was a detachment of two frigates. After several skirmishes and one failed attempt to get a Tengu we destroyed several ships and pods in null. We ventured deep enough to spot a parked Avatar and several Velators/ibis in system and a Thanatos. Not wanting it to rain titans and gumdrops I asked the fleet and most said they where running on fumes so we plotted a course home and scored one more kill on the way.
Overall we sank over 125 million isk worth of stuff and suffered relatively small losses. Scores include 1 cruiser 4 destroyers 1 frigate 1 stealth bomber 2 pods at the loss of 1 battleship 2 cruisers and four frigates.
Our most amusing kill was a very suicidal stealth bomber that launched the bomb at point blank at our sole tackler and missed entirely. The kill was nearly a solo performance by our forward scout as warping 120 AU's took most of us a long time to get a lick in.
The pilots agreed this was our most successful roam here. Also its been the heaviest roam in SWA's 5 year history with our three battleships. |

I expect to die.
A horrible, fiery, ball of molten metal in the blackness of deep space.
That pretty much sums up my expectations. You see, I'm the fluffy, carefree, carebear, miner type. The kind who thinks that 0.7 space is just a bit too risky to mine in. Yup, that's me. So when the call came over the comms that the fleet was forming up, and that all available pilots were to report to the muster station, my heartrate went up, and my palms weren't exactly dry. I've never engaged the enemy. I'd never taken the fight to them - as I'd always been on the receiving end of a canflip.
So, I fitted my ship with the best lowend gear I could find, and valiantly piloted my way to the muster point. After fleetup, Vix gave us the usual instruction to all of us rookie pilots, so we didn't end up dying... well, dying sooner than expected anyways.
We made our way down into low sec.. then null.. engaging targets that we came across. To be honest, I was so worried about keeping up with the fleet, that by the time I got there, most of the engagement was already over. I did my best tonight though to contribute when we came across anyone that needed a good de-shipping. I even got off a few shots, and made my way onto some kill mails.
Our fleet made the rounds, ventured back out, and went out seperate ways victorious. Low deaths, and 8 or 9 kills to boot. I'd call that a good night by any means. I had a great time, learned a few things, and LIVED to tell the tale. I'll definitely be fleeting up again with Vix and the SWA-G crew.
I highly recommend at least giving it a try. It adds a different dimension to the game than the one I'm used to playing.

We've are experimenting with the possibility of forming an alliance with Center of Advanced Studies. They're much further along in operations and are offering quite a large number of new possibilities
I'll have a hard time matching them for the things they're offering then again they been at it for 5 years... I hope to share resources between the two of us. I hope it inspires more to start making contact with the CAS group or mine
Its a small start but well see where this grows to. At the CAS groups request Ill be withholding the name of the group until details are further hammered out.
Til then I look forward to where this grows.

So, tonight, we served a fresh, steaming plate of cluster-fsk, garnished with pew-pew.
I was waaaaay late to the party, and indeed, spent most of the party trying to find where the party actually *was.* But eventually, I caught up. We found a few ships along the way, but nothing really interesting (aside from watching somone's bubble generator get popped) until we hit OBE.
In OBE, we found a lonely guy on the gate, and had just set about harassing him, when I dis-conn'd. Which was kinda fortuitous for me - when I reonnected, I found my self landing on the Ohkunen gate, all alone - except for a Rapier. Which promptly buggered off in-system. Our gang of 12 (sometimes fewer, as many of us DC'd several times) set about sweeping the system, and one of us found a carrier in a belt, whereupon things started gettin' all e'splody.
Warping in from various angles, we found a Rapier, a Carrier (never did get the type), a Crusader, and a Gurista 'rat all tangled up with the fleet, including a small fsk-load of drones - Theirs and ours.
Things got a bit confused, and I'm still not sure how many foes we faced - at the very least one Rat, one Carrier, one Rapier, one Crusader, one Drake, and one Ferox. The Rapier and the Crusader went down, then the heavy throw-weight of the big guys on the other side ended the party rather convincingly. I actually had locks on both BCs, and managed to send the Drake a parting kiss as I tried to escape with my mostly-wrecked Kestrel, but his response was a bit hotter than I'd anticipated and my carriage turned into a pumpkin-pod.
All told, I'm thinking is was a grand 'ol party, even if no one was sure who was on who's dance card. The guys in the Rapier and Crusader were feeling a mite bit too popular, I 'spect, as everyone wanted a piece of their time, but there were dances for everyone.
Once again, Stellar Vix threw a great party, and I'm just sorry more folks couldn't have been there - Maybe next time! |

Clarification of the Report the Thanatos Carrier was Cynoed in by the Rapier which my fleet promptly destroyed to prevent further reinforcements
BTW Silens the drake that took you down was destroyed an hour later.
Overall most of the op was boring and our initial cluster up costed us 4 of our escort frigates to a sniper Dramiel which was smart enough to stay in the complex so that the larger ships couldn't snipe it back. All the pilots went back and refitted.
We managed to sink an osprey in the same system waiting for our escorts to come back. After that 35 jumps though null with almost no activity. We poked our head into one system at way point alpha and held the gate for 5 minutes and decided they weren't going to come out play. I got my fleet to pull out but one pilot spotted a Naga on the way out one sniper ranges. Our oracle pilots engaged the heavily tanked Naga to his foolishness and got jumped and stuck in that system. A lesson learned that when the fleet pulls out don't be a hero
Way point charlie the usual three systems we normally get our teeth kicked in at was rather devoid of activity Moving onto Obe system in closure of our operation we found a local with 30+ and thought we could stir up some trouble Belt sweeps and taunting in local and d-scan snipes from well above the elliptical allowed us to pin point hostile ship positions and we knew they where trying to find us. One of our scouts got webbed by a Rapier and the warp to battle range was given. This multiple angled approach was sufficient enough to keep the enemy forces confused. Rapier cyno'd in a Thanatos which deployed fighters against our tacklers and according to all the after action reports that carrier only did 120 total damage to the lost tonnage. I noticed the hostiles where constantly trying to swap targets and constantly kept on moving ship to ship, They where extremely more disorganized than we were they just had heavier firepower in those numbers while I only had three heavy ships left. When I called out the Aeres to be primary and it warped away I knew that we where too low on tacklers to remain effective and ordered my ships out before more help came in from other source
In total we lost one curse one oracle and about six frigates. All remaining heavy ships deployed survived.
We killed one afk gas mining osprey, rapier, and a crusader. Our oracle loss offsets the Isk loss for the entire op though. Battlewise our last engagement was Isk won
Had we seriously destroyed all the escorts though I believed we could have possibly held the carrier a bit and gutted her drones but I doubt the DPS would break her

Incident Half Baked Report Author: Commander Stellar Vix Location: Forge Region Involved Parties: Staff Sargent Ice-Queen and one malfunctioning pilot.
SWA corp channel was the usual rustle and bustle that a normal military bar is typically associated with as nothing serious was going on. I was learning more about writing up technical manuals to include interactivity when this beggar stumbles in asking for isk.
Normally I get these people kicked out within minutes. This guy was rather persistent and then begins to start demanding Isk to be given to him. This was not making anyone on the channel happy. We don't tolerate beggars in the State and everyone in the channel knew that. After belittling his attempts for Isk, he has the gall to ask us to allow him on our agent mission runs. One pilot feeling merciful fancied the idea to her distaste later that the beggar was ill intention. It wasn't long until the beggars real colors showed.
I eventually thought it was worth my business and opened private comms with the SWA pilot that tried to be friendly. She explains the rest of situation to me and describes how this character was playing on a PLEX licensed on another associate's funding along with in communication four other supposed friends. It was coming down to hostilities so I made my moves. As the beggar challenged Ice Queen to a duel I started to make some devious plans.
At this time I prepared background checks on all the associates, cross referenced complaints, and all the normal things a good gopher does. Because this wasn't authorized Intel requests I was restricted from using my normal connections to get any more information but I felt I had enough to compose a warning message to one of his friend's CEO as a one additional font on this warfare. I also rallied up at least 10 volunteers willing to help if the shooting was to start, however I was restricted to SWA-G members only.
I told the Ice Queen I was more than willing to commit the resources to make the beggar and friends a bit more miserable. She later told the friends the beggar the implications of things going on should they help their friend get an upper hand. It was this time the beggar invited Ice Queen into a channel to set up the fight. During the confusion between comms the beggar divulged the entire plan to Ice Queen. This slip of the tongue was costly as it what caused me to send off my nasty gram. The dual was 1v1 and when he was planning for 1 vs 4 I decided to 'even' the odds.
I advised Ice Queen to haphazardly navigate near a star in a sweet spot where one slip of the engine screwed with the navigation computers that would have sling shot one well out of the gravitational influence. The beggar showed up and did the traditional flagging for a duel and was instructed to warp to the bookmark.
Ice queens preparedness allowed her to phase off the rooks attack and one of his friends showing up only further proved that sending off the mail was in good judgement. The beggar ran out of ammo and was only resorted to warp scrambling. Out of sheer idiocy the beggar begins to self destruct. Ice Queen decided to show some mercy as to not totally crush the beggar and threw her ship into the sling propelling her several thousands kilometers a second away from the sun as if warping.
Aftermath of the event lead to an extremely angry reply which would all indicate that not only did the beggar lost his ship, he lost his friends as the Intel follow up showed that all involved parties to the beggar where ejected out of player corps and blamed him for it.
Overall I wished I could feel pity but can only laugh. This has so far been the best elimination of beggars from SWA's history. The second best being the whole fleet being sent to Rancer system.
Ill be happy to dispense knowledge Ill be happy to dispense ammo. I will never be happy dispensing Isk at request.

Dunno it seems that Goonswarm shoved all of the puppies into the Test alliance and are preparing to kill them all off. Like lemming sheep to the slaughter.
For all of you who are worried that I'm breeding a generation of pilots that all they do is stay in SWA, I will have to call your fears unfounded. Most players who fly with us, typically find a corp to fit their shoe within a month or two and once they leave SWA we then try our best to get them placed in a good home somewhere if they where dissatisfied with their first selections. I am more than willing work with alliances on this matter once a pilot leaves the nest. This however is a major problem in itself for me because it really cuts down on my own staff numbers. Also there is a slight chance it may be a security issue but its unlikely unless you disgruntle your own pilots that much at that point you deserve it.
I'm now trying to get my XO sent off to Eve Uni to attend classes and Agony Unleashed as well to attend their seminars.

-Vix I'm sorry, no, I'm not too active within the STI, especially as I'm basically an industry alt.
I already played for a while but lack PVP experience - something like the SWA PVP Division would have come in handy back then, and nowadays I would gladly support such an endeavour. |

A roam in two parts
Part 1: Fleeted up, with some confusion. Sgt. Martin had the lead, and this was his first real fleet command - It showed. But still, he got it together efficiently enough, and we set out. Not a huge blob, just a dozen or so of us in various sizes from frigate to (IIRC) BC; heavy on the frigates.
We bopped through a number of systems, not finding much of interest, until a Slicer showed up on our back door. Our rear scoute tried to hold him whilst the fleet reversed and warped back to him - Not fast enough. Our rear guard got melted, and we arrived just as his killer warped off. After a short while trying to tempt the Slicer back into range, we moved on. The Slicer pilot was pro, and wasn't biting on our bait, nor was he making any mistakes. *shrug*
Moving on... With the certain knowledge that our roam was compromised, and we had a hungry preditor stalking us. Moving carefully but rapidly, we advanced to about the halfway point in our course when Local suddenly spiked, hard. Numbers were bad, and D-scan showed we were heavily out-massed. Moving expeditiously towards the exit, we ran smack into a swarm of ships on converging courses - Tornadoes and Tengus as far as the you could scan - A classic meeting engagement. Ships burned. Those of us still alive bopped through the gate, and met the fleet that our previous foes had been coming to fight. Bubbles, lasers, and more ships melting.
Surprisingly, all the heavies popped, and the frigates got off fairly lightly, running fast and scooting for safe spots. Now the mission was E&E, and I was with three other frigs in a very small and not very potent blob. The four of us skulked from system to system, ducking, dodging, and generally made good headway. Going back was ugly, and we knew we didn't stand a chance. Forward was the same distance to safety, so we went ahead.
With some of the fleet fleeing ahead of us, we were getting solid scout reports. Then we hit BWF. Second to last system before we were out of the worst of it. Except BWF was bubbled like nothing I've ever seen. Every possible angle from every celestial was covered, and then some. Our scout melted. I ran in ahead of our small group, and scanned an anomaly, warping 100km out.
I found massive rats, and I turned to burn away from them, calling my fellows to join me - We were going to try to hit the gate from an unxpected angle, but the rats engaged from 135km away, and I was into armor fast. We boogied for the gate - right into a bubble. My ship popped, but I got my pod free - Not all of my comrades were that lucky. One made it out, I think - things got real confused.
Now I was trapped in a heavily-occupied system in my underwear.
Eventually, after much hopping about, our formerly-melted rear scout sacc'd a ship to get into the system and show me an angle that wasn't covered. We warped out in our pods, tails firmly tucked up and under.
Not a bad run, considering - We kept it together even under surprise conditions, and the FC and XO kept their heads. Even during the E&E, folks kept their heads and stuck together. Discipline was solid and cooperation was willing and cheerful.
Part 2: Those of us still up for action decided to go 'borrow' a system from AAA and camp one of their gates for 'em.
Mind you, we didn't ask permission for this bit of volunteerism - We were looking for trouble. Not as much traffic as we'd hoped for, and a lot of it was very cautious. Dunno why - Just 'cause there were 10 ships in system with similar names? Naaah.
Ships popped through the gate, cloaked, and snuck off. We didn't have enough to bum-rush the gate, so we let a lot of potential victims escape. Then we got a solid bite - Our bait ship got points on an Arazu, and we bounced him HARD. Nine of us on the KM, and it wasn't a quick clean kill, but down he went. We let the pod go.
Much cheering and happy banter in chat. Then back to positions, and try again. And again. And again. All to no avail. The word may've gotten out - Or maybe we just picked a gate where only the most paranoid went through. Who knows? *shrug*
Local spiked again, hard - AAA had twigged to our presence, and was coming for us. We skeedaddled. They chased. We boogied. They bull-dogged. We reversed course. They went shooting right on past and kept on going. We giggled - And went right back to our camping positions.
More frustration - Pilots were being real cautious and we weren't getting any bites - then a frieghter came to the gate, escorted by a Tengu, and we pounced! Have you ever seen a big man being harrassed by a buncha Doberman puppies? That's about what we looked like. We eventually dented his shields, but he was slowly limping closer and closer to the gate, and never engaged us - his job was fairly obviously to escort that freighter, and he wasn't letting us puppies get in the way of duty. Impressive self-control. Or maybe he was laughing too hard to engage. Whatever.
We giggled, and tried our best, but just didn't have the throw-weight, and he gated out That was pretty much the last action, and we disbanded the camp about an hour later, going our various ways.
Pretty fun evening, all told. |

After action report: Operation MOSQUITO
It was time I dusted off my father's fleet command suit and gathered a group of new pilots to explore the free lands of null sec space. I rallied together a small band of SWA pilots for a hit and run frigate operation. The fleet mostly consisted of T1 frigates, some newer and some older capsuleers.
A short route was planned due to time restrictions and the fleet was formed. The first null sec systems we entered were well populated with pilots exploiting the bottlenecks leading into null security space. The first systems were scouted and an interceptor was quickly located, the order was given to move in and engage. Weapons hot and hull plating rattling under the pressures of warp speed, the swarm of frigates sped towards the targets location guns at the ready. Mid-flight I received a troubling transmission from our scout GÇô two T3 cruisers have arrived on grid to assist their interceptor affiliate. Knowing the target was close to the gate and that we were warping into a fight out gunned, the order is given to jump straight through on arrival to avoid a catastrophe. The group came to rest amongst the enemy cruisers and wasted no time approaching the gate. The cruisers locked our frigates and charged rounds grazed the hulls of our ships. Most of us are too fast to be hit at such close range and fly beneath the cruisers guns to safety or through the gate. Two of our squad membersGÇÖ frigates were torn into pieces by well-placed hits and an escape pod quickly was dispatched. The forward scout was into armour and heroically holding position on the interceptor while the fleet moved to safety. The fleet re-grouped and after a quick assessment of local forces the order was given to carry on with our planned route.
Local population dropped to nil as the fleet pushed further into the route, and for a few brief moments the battle fatigued pilots could take in the vast views of the frontier. Perhaps one day they would call this place home. The fleet came to rest and was briefed on our exit strategy to empire and the two systems ahead, which were known to be heavily populated with targets. While aligning to gate a transmission was received from the forward scout GÇ£activity on gateGÇ¥. The order to tackle was made and the fleet warped to position. A lone Sabre was on scene and had deployed a warp disruptor bubble. Still being too far away to tackle and the destroyer bearing down on the frigate fleet, the order was given to regroup. No sooner did the warp drives of the fleet power down then the order was given to intercept the destroyer on our terms. The fleet aligned and sped towards the destroyers last known position. On arrival I expected a Sabre on my targeting computer, however the destroyer was now off grid - and a Drake sat in its place. The battle cruiser pilot wasted no time in deploying its drones. I pinned down the drake while the fleet made good their escape. The fleet warped away to re-group, one ship was lost and I sat locked alongside the battle cruiser hull to hull in the grips of each other's point. Slowly the Drake wore through the armour of my assault frigate and left behind only a field of debris and a burnt escape pod. I quickly aligned to safety and warped away just as the Sabre arrived back on grid to catch the end of the skirmish.
All that was left was to push forward. Our new GÇÿfriendsGÇÖ were eagerly searching us out and I relayed new waypoints to the fleet. No time to wait - the interceptor appears on grid, the pilot paid close attention to our alignment when we disengaged. The order to immediately jump is made the swarm of frigates disperses into space.
With the threat left behind we find ourselves in what is supposed to be a very hostile system, but with no one in local, a sort of quiet end to our outing. Our pilots fly alongside one another, their hulls once shiny now covered in scars from battle my pod not too far ahead. Chatter over the comms recounts the events of the roam, no kills were made today, but a comradery exists between these pilots and there is no doubt we will fly together again.
