Title says it all.
Afte the last patch I was critical in this forum of CCP in general and Kieron in particular for their lack of communication with the player base when we are having problems with the game.
IMHO, that's changed recently and It's only fair that, having whined in the past, I should say ''well done'' now.
So kieron and CCP, thanks for listening to us and keep up the good work

I agree completely.
I've made my own criticisms on this point in the past, particularly after the pre-upgrade Yulai lag trapping upward of 400 people that Sunday.
But since then communication has been much, much better. Just through seeing the news item on my character selection screen asking if I've seen the recent Dev Blogs, among the other improvements such as more posts on the forums, I have a much greater feeling of the Devs being a presence in the game and being involved with the community in making it work as well as it can for us.
You're right Dave - it would be rude to let this kind of change pass without comment and praise. Big Hugs and Slaps On Backs to everyone involved :) Thanks.

Player accidently trashes an implant; impact on EvE world - none. Response- fast. Good.
Dozens of player loose up to 5 days of skill train time; - impact on EvE world - large. Response - none. --------------

CCP / playerbase dialogue in this game is already lightyears ahead of anything in any other MMORPG I can recall. It's certainly better than the "see no evil / hear no evil", "gosh - has there really been a massive problem for weeks?" approach to actually doing something about issues and taking the wishes of players into account taken by a certain other, shortly to be retired, space-based MMORPG I could mention.

I wholeheartedly agree :)
Though I still think EVE still needs a LOT of work to be the game it set out to be, and the DEV's still have thier moments...
I also came to the conclusion that CCP is listening and talking to us better than before.
In the past we were at first impressed that they talked to us at all admitting thier shortcomings when a server would crash or what have you.
The CSM chats however where only somewhat productive, CCP all too often completely ignorant weeks later, of things we knew about sometimes only hours after it was discovered to be amiss.
Now, We see much better dialogues, and much more comitment from the DEVs to fix the busted stuff, and improve the thinner spots.
To top it all off, the CSM chats as an example, are a lot more profesionaly run. We don't have as many random exclamations from the chatters, and it's a lot more organized.
Also CCP is telling us more info now about what to expect...
In the past as an example we could always expect things like this:
"Dev team what do you think of this Idea, blah blah blah."
Dev "Well shiva will be cool and have this and that and this."
"Ok but what about my question?"
Dev "Uhm.... Soon(tm)?"
*sigh*
Sure I enjoyed the old chats too, I mean it wasn't like CCP didn't give us any info or anything. But now adays it feels more open and less "hush hush."
I feel like CCP has gone into overdrive to bring the game up to speed with thier orriginal plans.
I might be way off target here... But I think the EnB players flooding into this game to escape the cataclysm of thier lost playground, has lit a fire under CCP's behind.
They are now seeing bigger $ signs, than before, and have less competition so they feel justified in taking more risks and spending more money and time on development.
Seriously before EnB shut down it was like CCP was in a cave under a rock on one of the moons of mars...
Now it feels like they crawled out from under the rock and have set up a broadband connection to listen once in a while.
Good show :)

You are either a comedian or a Dev...... or maybe both.... I can honestly say I have never come across again where the response to the player base was so poor...... as for problems not being ignored for weeks...... erm...... hullo..... what space based game you been playing?

I'm currently beta testing Wish and the devs in that game are wonderful. They post in as many threads on their beta forums as humanly possible, answering almost all questions or concerns.. the Mutable Realms guys are definately the best dev team I have ever had the pleasure beta testing for. Now I've only been test... err playing EVE for a month, but the little dev team (or community guy) communication I am seeing here is below what I am used to... (and no I am not a dev, just a normal player)

I feel I should join in on this. The upgrades helped a lot. Though I didn't think so at first. But the new highway system works great. So all in all. A very good job done. SoonÖ

Communication has improved a lot lately. I'm impressed that a company can go from almost no info to a lot of info in such a short time.
Also, the improvements in the testing environments are great. With a system more similar to TQ, more bugs are bound to be found.
I still fear patchday (it makes me play a lot less, if at all), but it doesn't feel as horrible when I see a lot of info about it on the forum and I see that the devs care to let us know that they are fixing things.
The only thing I miss is an announcement saying "Patchday in a week. Patch candidate now on Entropy, feel free to test - help us find any remaining bugs before release" (or similar). That'd probably boost the testing process a little.
