To somebody who can answer this for me.
1- Factional warfare is mainly based in low sec ? 2- Because there are gonna be 4 factions ... does that mean 4 super alliances which are now gonna be the concord of there own races low sec region ... so anybody not supporting there faction (aka low sec pirate alliances) are just gonna be super blobbed and totally outnumbered ?
I was looking forward to factional warfare but a friend said it might be like Q 2 ...
I mean if it is how are pirates gonna survive ? we will always have sentry's .. there will be super alliances of a thousand + members easily roaming about in low sec.
I suppose i will have to join a 0.0 alliance .. get my security status up then join in with factional warfare to even stand a chance living in low sec.
But yeah can sombody answer my questions ? =)
Plz dont flame about me being unappreciative im just asking a few questions and wondering if this will change the whole way i play eve.

Living in low sec doesnt mean you need to pirate. And i doubt the FW players will in general shoot many neutrals.
And the pirates are probably much better organized in general than the FW'ers, i think the problem is more the other way arround.

I think i either wrote it wrong or you took it wrong.
I am a pirate. I live in Low sec.
Wont people who live in 0.0 join there alt corps to faction warfare and be very organized ? they will be able to roam low sec with alot of friends about and just hit on pirate alliances (as they loose no sec), and because there will be so many of these roaming gangs as there are only 4 "super" alliances (Dont know for sure thats the question im asking) pirate alliances will get harrased constantly , by 0.0 alt corps doing something different when not on there mains.

What part of low sec are you from? My low sec is full of 0.0 alliances already.

You've got it all wrong. Factional warfare will just bring tons of carebears that think they know how to pvp. It will lead to plenty of kills for pirates.

That, it will only make it easier for pirates.
And you can only shoot the opponents who also do FW without standing loss, not random others.

/me hopes lol
It could go either way though.
Massive alliances putting pvp alts into it and steamrolling low sec ... or care bears going around calling me a gallente scum.

I think a lot of 0.0 alliance members will join FW with alts but I don't think they'll do it to continue taking orders from their 0.0 masters. This is the first whine post I've seen from a pirate, and I didn't expect it to come from AnTi.... Basically there's going to be a lot more people coming through lowsec in PVP fits, some newbies, some oldbies. It'll be more of a challenge for pirates, as your gatecamps will need more firepower than you traditionally needed to kill afk haulers, but you have much more of an opportunity to get fights. (Whether those will be profitable fights or not, I don't know.)

The current structure of low-sec makes it very hard to force anyone from an area. Something that needs to be changed tbh.

I do not think so. For example also some of my ally which lives in 0.0 will try it out with alts or even with the main character.
I am really looking forward to get some nice pvp there without the need to roam for hours only to see most of the targets dock or warp to ss and cloak.
Would be really cool if you log on to EvE and if nothing is happening in 0.0 you can have nearly instant pvp in empire then. But we wil see when it is out how good it is finally.

I also think the issue will be totally reversed than what you mention.
Somewhere else i saw a bob guy comment on 8 SB bs camping deadspace entry points...
The issue i see w/ FW, (and i'm pretty damn psyched about it myself, cant wait to try it out) is that CCP thinks that low sec is some gray area between carebear empire and full on pvp 0.0. If this is the case they couldn't be more wrong.
Low sec has always been just as bad (and in some ways worse) than 0.0 in terms of harsh environment. Its more crowded, those that hunt there have to know what they are doing (you dont have to tank sentry guns in 0.0)
Basically what i'm getting at is, with regards to pvp you are either in the pool or not. There is no 'one foot in one foot out'. The second you expose yourself to pvp in eve, anything goes. Thats what makes this game so great. You dont right click your ship and make it ok for someone to attack you, you put yourself in the environment and good ***kin luck o7
IF FW is an attempt to get ppls one foot in the pool w/o them falling in and getting soaking wet , it's probably going to fail in that regard (but hopefully it wont be a failure altogether).
But back to the topic at hand, it should be apparent that exploiting these new comers should be quite easy for pirates, and dont forget, they aren't there to raid your space, their there for the deadspace pocket.
btw, i meant exploiting as in 'imposing an arbitrary differential treatment of people to the advantage of some and the disadvantage of others (lol wiki)' NOT 'violation of game rules' exploiting.

I was merely asking questions not whining. No need to think every post made asking things about factional warfare is a whine.
Edit - And thx to Alia, Could go either way depends how many people take part =)
And now that vie thought about it it will be less of corps going about policing more about care bearing / trying to get iskies, could possibly even extort these guys for blue status xD.

My guesses are twofold:
A. Lowsec with pirates/gatecamps instantly kills faction wars and its becomes something 10 players do.
B. Lowsec gets steamrolled with larger faction war fleets. The "Easy carebear kills" is a moronic and clueless comment in any case.
So short conclusion. Lowsec will be as "always" and no change really. Or pirates will be the easy kills in any faction war areas. But unless faction wars actually gives some reward worth the risk. Then it wont change anything and not bring in anyone. As said, why goto lowsec when 0.0 is easier and alot more rewarding. Or why risk go outside highsec. Edited by: Apoctasy on 18/05/2008 19:07:53 Do people honestly think that the general Eve population, joining in the FW, will be able to organize efficient fleets and gangs? The battles will be free-for-all's with people attacking whatever they can.
That said, lowsec, at least in the first few months of FW, will be filled with carebears running around and randomly fighting. Pirates will step in and gatecamp the hell out of key lowsec systems. This will last for a few months and then people will quit FW.
I see no organized fighting

1: Low-sec pirates and 0.0 alliances with Militia alts wipe out carebear militia in first day or 3. 2: Carebears go back to high sec. 3: 0.0 alliances with their militia alts drive off/kill pirates in FW areas. 4: 0.0 alliances with their Militia alts farm FW for all its worth. 5: The End - FW R.I.P.

I see it more like this: 1. Usual band of pirates gatecamp Kourmonen waiting for the Minmatar-Amarr FW players, licking their chops with glee. 2. Roaming gang of 3 or more FW players jump into system simultaneously. 3. Kourmonen pirates dock up in terror calculated consideration of economic risk. 4. Pirates spend several hours in station waiting for there to be fewer than 3 neutrals in system, finally get a chance to undock and camp a gate at 4:27pm, catch a single FW player at a gate, and he drops a bunch of T1 PVP gear (no blueprints, morphite, or implants). 5. Pirates quit their corp and join FW.

This
I think its hilarious that pirates think they are gonna roll in and get 7428478472 kills and kill off FW.
Its not only going to be noob carebears taking part in FW, there will be decent pvp corps involved aswell as some pretty capable corps no likely emerge.
This 0.0 alts/pirates are gonna steamroll everyone because only we can pvp is laughable snobbery.

PUGs in mmos like WoW are total chaos but fun provided you don't expect cohesion and high levels of effectiveness.
So long as CCP can craft FW so it's not overly painful/expensive to participate I see much the same thing happening in FW. However, if everyone treats it like serious business, it'll suck.
As a solo player, I look forward to seeing how it pans out.

To be honest the simple answer its just going to make low sec ten times more risky. As some people have forgot that whole alliances will be able to join militias. So all this rubbish about crap commication isn't even going to come into it. The only thing that worries me is occupying a system will this mean if ur in low sec and not part of the faction holding it that u will get raped by NPC's.
It really just depends on how CPP implement the agents if all agents cordinate there attacks then low sec pirates are going to not stand a chance as 1000 ppl jumping into a system gives a small group of pirates no chance. However CPP aint stupid each agent will only give a mission to a certain area.
However in terms of steamrolling a system it aint gonna happen put it simply low sec pirates are some of the best pirates in the game simple reason is because they have to live with be KOS all day and also getting attacked by sentries. Yes sometimes we are gonna have some serious fights on our hands (0.0 alliance jumps into occupy a system). However it all just depends on how they implement it. Im not going to take any assumptions until its realeased as most of these questions will be answered soon enough.

Why they should lose no sec? If you aren't in the enemy FW faction you are not a free target. The one that will have the gateguns help if he don't aggress first will be the pirates.
The people that will camp gates with smarbombing ships, HICs and BS and carriers will be pirates as people doing FW will have other goals.
So I see an increase in activity for pirates (more targets and more easy targets as you will be ganking the lonw Fw player or the easy gang), not a decrease.
