Not QUITE sure if this belongs here, but I have a question about it for you bunch.
Ive been out and about in low sec killing stuff this week and I realized that my sec status is getting close to blocking me out of 1.0 (ya i know, not too low, but only after 1 week...)
Anyway, my question is what is the best method for getting my status back up the quickest. Is it ratting in 0.0 or is it doing lvl 4 missions? Maybe something else I haven't considered?
To be blunt, im not found of the idea of losing access to about 1/3 to 1/2 of all the geography in EVE. ----------------------------------------------- THE AWARD FOR MOST RIDICULOUS DREAM EVER GOES TO... |

Well Jack if you don't want to lose access to so much space, than don't lose your sec status. You will keep killing, losing sec status for quite some time, than you will be grinding for some more time to regain the access to high sec. So either way you look at it, for some amount of time, you lose the access. A month minimum, depending how far you go.
As to sec status increase, 0.0 chaining is your best option, including the isk. .
I need isk! Accepting donations :) |

find a relatively empty constellation or a constellation your corp holds in 0.0 (which i dont think you guys have since youve been roaming around our space lately) and kill a battleship in one system then move to another system and repeat. the idea is to have 5-6 systems that you can visit and kill a BS. you will get a sec increase for each system instead of waiting 10minutes per system. you need 5-6 clear systems so by the time you get to the 6th system, you can go back to the 1st system (it should take you about 10minutes to do 5-6 systems) and repeat. of course you can do this in hostile territory but then you run the risk of getting ganked. this is probably best to do in a HAC or BC

Pretty sure that hasnt worked in awhile, changing system to refresh sec status countdown I mean.
not POSITIVE though cause I only heard they changed it and never bothered to test but far as I know its sec boost every 10-15min no matter what.
and yeah cant compare lvl 4's to 0.0 ratting its just miles better for sec and much less boring, its what the french would say is the le sh*t -----------------

Not fixed yet, and it's a session change event that clears it , on an unrelated note anyone know what kind of an event is triggered when you refresh or do a market search?

Yes it still works, you won't get the update for 15 minutes but every system you've killed a BS in will give you the sec hit 15 min after you kill it. vagabond/ishtar is the best ship for sec status grinding imho, especially if you're doing it in hostile space.
If low sec targets are too much temptation but you need to keep your sec status, train the Fast Talk skill. Notoriety Alliance Recruitment |

Assuming it's a session change that triggers it, would docking in a station count? Or jumping in and out of the system? Couldn't you hope between 2 systems and rat that way? http://www.waz.ca |

Edited by: Chen Hao on 20/05/2008 17:54:16 I hope this will be clear.
First off its randomly between 10-15mins. Anyway...
Im gonna call my systems "System One, Two..."
Time Location Action 10:00 System One KILL RAT JUMP SYSTEM 10:03 System Two KILL RAT JUMP SYSTEM 10:06 System Three KILL RAT JUMP SYSTEM 10:09 System Four KILL RAT JUMP SYSTEM 10:10 System One SEC GAIN 10:12 System Five KILL RAT JUMP SYSTEM 10:13 System Two SEC GAIN 10:16 System Three SEC GAIN 10:16 System Six KILL RAT <you stop ratting> 10:19 System Three SEC GAIN 10:22 System Four SEC GAIN 10:26 System Five SEC GAIN
So you can get sec gains alot quicker by jumping systems, yes they take 10-15mins to apply the gain but because your jumping systems your next systems gain ticks in a few minutes later. Hope that made some sort of sense.

Old Security Status Guide
That's an old security status guide I wrote. The only way I would update it to be current is to describe the multiple system security status grind that the poster one above mentioned. I've gotten it down to 3-4 minutes between security status increases.

Fast talk does not decrease your security status losses. It only increases security status gain. It's like making an 800k battleship worth 950k worth of security status increase.
