I always wondered how you go about building a station, i think you need to have allot of pos in the region and have a certain level of sov but can you actually buy a station off the market or where do you get it from?
Also are we talking 100 bil here for one or more?

You can't actually build stations in 0.0, but what you can build are outposts.
There split into 4 types
- Amarr Factory Outpost
- Caldari Research Outpost
- Gallente Administrative Outpost
- Minmatar Service Outpost
These are more limited versions of stations. As far as I know you only need sov 1 to start building an outpost.
I suggest reading here if you want more info.

What this guy said basically.
They are upgradeable, so costs can vary depending on how much is invested into it. It also has to be an alliance to make this.
As far as I know prices ranged from 30-50 billion at minimum to build the foundation (I could be completely off) plus whatever expansions are invested into it.

You need an outpost platform BPC/BPO, and some parts from the market to build the platform, (about 23-25b worth) then another 1-2b of parts to fill it (about 7 freighters worth). You need soverignty in the system you're anchoring it in, then fill the platform, hit build and wait for downtime. The expensive bit is maintaining that soverignty with POS's and fighting to keep it. You lose it, you lose the outpost.

agreed!
chickens did not start as chickens, they started as other creatures and evolved into a chicken as we know it, so neither came first not the chicken nor the egg

Just a tip: When you buy the station components, pick a station to build in that has loads of the components. Saves you lots of freighter hauling time.

you guys are making me hungry with you eggs and dinosaurs
if you do put up a outpost i would have it heavily guarded with like warp disrupter bubbles everywhere =D ( just had to put something to do with the topic so that i am not spamming =D)

Lots of things can make eggs.
A chicken can only come from an egg.
Not difficult to see that eggs came first then.
